Disclosure: NOXI publishes this comparison and is one of the tools discussed, as a fourth, free route scored by the same rules. Gamma, Canva and Beautiful.ai are compared on their own documented capabilities; the criteria, weights, scoring anchors and every official source are published below so you can check each cell.
Quick answer: Pick Gamma for the fastest route from a prompt or file to a deck; Gamma 5 (6 October 2026) added a freeform canvas and design-keeping PowerPoint import. Pick Canva for hands-on design control and team review. Pick Beautiful.ai when every slide must stay on brand and a paid plan is fine. NOXI is the free fourth route.
Every "Gamma vs Canva" page that ranks today was written before Gamma 5 shipped on 6 October 2026, and most were written by a fourth vendor that puts itself first. This one compares the three tools people actually type into the search box, on what each vendor documents on its own pricing page, help centre and changelog, opened on 13 October 2026. It is a documented-capability comparison, not a new hands-on test; where our earlier published test is relevant, we say so and attribute it.
In short
- GammaBuilt for speed from a prompt or a file. Gamma 5 adds a freeform canvas, a question-asking agent, connectors and design-keeping PowerPoint and PDF import. Free: 400 one-time credits, exports carry a badge. Plus $9 a month billed annually.
- CanvaBuilt for design control inside an all-in-one suite: millions of templates and assets, Brand Kits, comments and approvals. PowerPoint import is in beta. Free plan, then Pro US$144 a year.
- Beautiful.aiBuilt for brand consistency: Smart Slides that re-layout as you type, Brand Kits that steer the AI, locked slides on Team. No free plan; 14-day trial with a card. Pro $14.50 a month billed annually.
- ScoresOn nine documented criteria weighted to 100: Gamma 92, Beautiful.ai 82, Canva 81. NOXI, scored by the same anchors as a reference row: 96.
- One-user costBadge-free or editable PowerPoint for one person, per year: Gamma Plus $108, Canva Pro US$144, Beautiful.ai Pro $174, NOXI $0.

The verdict: which one to pick, in one table
The short version: the three tools are built for three different jobs, so the right pick depends on the one constraint you cannot change. Gamma is built for speed and visual range from a prompt, Canva for hands-on design control and team review, and Beautiful.ai for decks that stay on brand without a designer. The table names the constraint that should decide it.
| Pick | If this is true | What you give up (documented) |
|---|---|---|
| Gamma | You start from a prompt, notes or an old deck and need a finished-looking draft fast; you want to restyle freely, work in Arabic, Hebrew, Farsi or Urdu, or pull context from Slack, Notion or call notes. | Free exports carry a "Made by Gamma" badge; free credits do not refresh; custom branding is on Pro ($18 a month billed annually). |
| Canva | Design control and assets matter more than speed: you place every element yourself, reuse brand templates, collect comments and approvals, and present from Canva or a PDF. | Canva warns that PPTX downloads may look different in PowerPoint; its PowerPoint import is a beta that ignores charts and SmartArt. |
| Beautiful.ai | A team must ship many decks that look the same: Smart Slides keep spacing and alignment, Brand Kits steer the AI, and slides can be locked. | No free plan: a 14-day trial requires a card; editable PowerPoint export starts on Pro. |
| NOXI Free route | The deck must cost nothing, carry sources on its figures, follow your own PowerPoint or PDF as the style, and leave as an editable PowerPoint. | Scored by the same anchors in the table below. |
Our June 2026 hands-on test of twelve AI presentation makers, run on one market-entry brief, placed Gamma second, Canva third and Beautiful.ai fourth behind NOXI; that test predates Gamma 5, and its method and slides are in the full June write-up. Everything else on this page is documented capability as of 13 October 2026.
What changed in October 2026: Gamma 5 and Beautiful.ai's guided AI
Gamma 5 is the change that makes older comparisons out of date: Gamma calls it the biggest product overhaul in the company's history, and it is live for every user on every plan since 6 October 2026. Beautiful.ai reworked its create-with-AI flow over the same weeks; Canva published no presentation-specific launch in the window. Everything below was read on the vendors' own pages on 13 October 2026.
| Date | Tool | What changed (official source) | Why it matters for this comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 Oct | Gamma | Gamma 5: a far wider range of visual styles; switch between agent-led editing and a fully freeform canvas where you move and arrange individual elements; an agent that asks questions and keeps context across edits; enterprise connectors (a Slack thread or a Granola call transcript into a deck); PowerPoint, PDF and infographic import with the design preserved and every element editable. Memory of brand guidelines is announced as next [1]. | Closes most of the old "Canva has more design control" gap and adds a PowerPoint import that keeps layouts. |
| 6 Oct | Gamma | Help centre: imports from the Gamma 5 home screen keep the original layouts, design and structure; the classic generator imports text only. AI editing is now a mode you toggle, not a single sparkle button [2]. | Use the Gamma 5 home screen, not the classic generator, if you want your old deck's design kept. |
| 25–29 Sep | Beautiful.ai | Changelog: AI presentations that pull images from your team's own asset library (25 September); a guided create flow that asks questions before writing an editable outline, with the Brand Kit chosen first (28 September); turn a template into an AI-generated deck, in beta (29 September) [9]. | Strengthens the brand-consistency case: the Brand Kit now shapes the content from the first step. |
| 9 Oct | Beautiful.ai | Blog post walking through the updated Create with AI workflow: direction, Brand Kit, outline review, then generate and refine [10]. | The documented workflow behind the September changes. |
| 15–29 Sep | Canva | Newsroom: a survey of 4,000 presenters (15 September), the Canva ProSuite for professional creatives (16 September), and a connector for Meta's Muse agent (29 September). None is a presentation launch inside the window [7]. | No change to Canva's presentation scores this month. |
Canva's own survey gives the context for all three tools: of 4,000 professionals who regularly build and deliver presentations in eight countries, 91% said they use AI monthly to build slides [7]. The question is no longer whether to use an AI tool for decks, but which one fits the deck you have to deliver.
How we compared: nine criteria, 100 points, official pages only
Each tool is scored 1 to 5 on nine criteria with published weights, and the total is the sum of weight × score divided by 5, so a perfect sheet is 100. A point is awarded only for a capability the vendor states on an official page opened on 13 October 2026; "not stated" scores as absent. This is a documented-capability score, not a hands-on test, and the anchors below let you re-score any cell yourself.
| Criterion | Weight | What a 5 means | What a 1 means |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI generation | 15 | A full deck from a prompt or from your files, with an outline you can review before design and AI regeneration of single slides. A 4 lacks one of the three. | No AI deck generation; templates only. |
| Design range and control | 15 | A wide style range plus free placement of any element on a canvas. A 4 is manual editing of text, images and tables inside generated layouts, with element-level AI. A 3 is layout swaps only. | Output cannot be changed except by regenerating. |
| Brand and own template | 15 | Your brand, from a kit or your own file, is applied when the AI generates, plus a second documented brand control (theme import from your PPTX, shared or locked brand assets, approvals). A 4 is one of these. | Colours and fonts must be set by hand on every deck. |
| PowerPoint import | 10 | A PPTX becomes an editable deck that keeps or deliberately restyles the original design, with stated limits. A 3 is a beta, text-only or partly documented import. | No PowerPoint import. |
| PowerPoint export | 15 | An editable .pptx with real text boxes on the free plan with no badge. A 4 is the same on paid plans only, or free with a badge. A 3 means the vendor documents visible differences or unsupported elements. | No PowerPoint export; a 2 is PDF or images only. |
| Research with sources | 10 | Web research is documented and the source appears on the slide. A 4 is cited research whose placement is not stated, or citations on one plan only. A 3 is web research without citations. | No research; the tool rewrites your prompt. |
| Collaboration | 5 | Real-time co-editing plus comments plus a review layer (approvals, locked slides or viewer analytics). A 4 is two of the three. | Single-user only. |
| Languages incl. RTL | 5 | Right-to-left generation or layout for Arabic and Hebrew is documented, beta included. A 4 is a language list that names Arabic, with mirroring only as a separate step. | English only. |
| Free plan reality | 10 | Free generation and editable export with no card, no badge and a monthly allowance. A 4 is free generation with a badged export or a one-time credit pool. A 3 is free generation with a small AI allowance and export terms not stated. | No free use; a 2 is a trial that requires a card. |
Why these weights
The weights describe a professional who builds a deck with AI and then delivers it to other people, often as a PowerPoint file. Generation, design and brand carry 45 points because they decide whether the first draft is usable. The PowerPoint round trip, import and export together, carries 25, because most client and board decks still travel as .pptx files. Research, collaboration, language and price carry the last 30. If you only ever present from the tool's own link, re-weight; the next section shows what happens when you do.
Rules applied throughout. Where two official pages disagree, the more cautious reading is scored and the conflict is named. Prices are list prices as displayed on 13 October 2026, in US dollars unless stated; Canva displays local currency, so the US price is quoted from its US page. These scores are not comparable with our 20-tool October ranking, which uses seven different criteria. NOXI's facts come from its product documentation and are scored by the same anchors.
The scoring table: Gamma 92, Beautiful.ai 82, Canva 81
On these weights Gamma leads the three by ten points, mainly because Gamma 5 now documents both a freeform canvas and a design-keeping PowerPoint import, and because Gamma documents right-to-left generation and a free plan with PowerPoint export. Beautiful.ai and Canva sit one point apart for opposite reasons: Beautiful.ai loses on price, Canva on the PowerPoint round trip.

| Criterion (weight) | Gamma | Canva | Beautiful.ai | NOXI (reference) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI generation (15) | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| Design range and control (15) | 5 | 5 | 4 | 4 |
| Brand and own template (15) | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| PowerPoint import (10) | 5 | 3 | 3 | 5 |
| PowerPoint export (15) | 4 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
| Research with sources (10) | 4 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
| Collaboration (5) | 4 | 5 | 5 | 4 |
| Languages incl. RTL (5) | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 |
| Free plan reality (10) | 4 | 3 | 2 | 5 |
| Total / 100 | 92 | 81 | 82 | 96 |
Total = Σ (weight × score) ÷ 5. Gamma: (75 + 75 + 75 + 50 + 60 + 40 + 20 + 25 + 40) ÷ 5 = 460 ÷ 5 = 92. Canva: (75 + 75 + 75 + 30 + 45 + 30 + 25 + 20 + 30) ÷ 5 = 405 ÷ 5 = 81. Beautiful.ai: (75 + 60 + 75 + 30 + 60 + 40 + 25 + 25 + 20) ÷ 5 = 410 ÷ 5 = 82. NOXI: (75 + 60 + 75 + 50 + 75 + 50 + 20 + 25 + 50) ÷ 5 = 480 ÷ 5 = 96.
Re-weighted for design-first work
The order is sensitive to what you value, which is why the weights are published. Suppose you never send PowerPoint files and care most about design and teamwork: set design to 30, brand to 20, collaboration to 15, generation to 15, free plan to 10, research and languages to 5 each, and import and export to zero. Gamma then scores 94, Canva 93 and Beautiful.ai 87, held back mainly by having no free plan. Under that lens Gamma and Canva are one point apart, and the choice between them comes down to the working style in the verdict table, not to capability.
Gamma vs Canva vs Beautiful.ai: the facts side by side
This is the table to bookmark: ten rows, each one a fact stated on the vendor's own page on 13 October 2026, so you can see why every score above is what it is. The NOXI column uses the same row definitions.

Gamma after Gamma 5: built for speed, now with a canvas
Gamma is the fastest of the three from a blank page to a finished-looking deck, and Gamma 5 removes the two complaints that older comparisons used against it: limited manual control and imports that kept only the text. It suits people who start from a prompt, notes, a call transcript or last quarter's deck and want something presentable in minutes.
Gamma 92 / 100
Generation (5). A full deck from a prompt, pasted text, a web link or a PPTX, DOCX or PDF file; the Gamma 5 agent works through the idea in a back-and-forth before anything is designed and keeps context across edits [1][4]. Design (5). You can switch between agent-led editing and a freeform canvas where you move and arrange individual elements yourself, with a far wider range of visual styles than before [1]. AI edits work on the whole deck, one slide, one element or selected text [2]. Brand (5). Custom themes with colours, fonts, slide styles and logo; a theme can be imported from a PPTX or Google Slides file and saved for the workspace; custom branding is listed on Pro [3][13]. Import (5). PPTX and DOCX up to 200 MB and PDF up to 100 MB; in Gamma 5, imports keep the original layouts, design and structure and stay editable, though some charts may arrive as static images and missing fonts are substituted. Excel and Keynote files cannot be imported directly [4]. Export (4). PDF, PNG and PPTX on every plan and Google Slides via PPTX; theme fonts are embedded and tables export as editable tables; a "Made by Gamma" badge appears on PDF and PPTX exports made on the Free plan, and is not removed retroactively after you upgrade. The help centre also notes that slide masters arrive blank and gradient headings may flatten to one colour [2b]. Research (4). You can ask the AI to search the web and pull in citations to support your points; where the citations sit on the slide is not specified [2]. Collaboration (4). View, comment and edit sharing, workspace members, and analytics on Pro [3][14]. Languages (5). Generation and editing in Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew and Urdu, right-to-left [16]. Free plan (4). 400 credits at sign-up, no card required, credits that do not refresh, and up to 10 slides per prompt [3][18].
Best when: you want the quickest route from a prompt or an old deck to a designed draft, you like to restyle freely, and either a badge on free exports is acceptable or Plus at $108 a year is within budget.
Two details are worth knowing before a deadline. First, to keep your old deck's design, import from the Gamma 5 home screen: the classic generator still takes only the text [4]. Second, a deck exported on the Free plan keeps its badge even if you upgrade later, so upgrade before you export the client version [2b]. For how Gamma compares with other tools on narrower jobs, see our Gamma alternatives guide and the Genspark vs Gamma comparison.
Canva for presentations: built for design control and teams
Canva is the design suite of the three: the largest template and asset library, a full manual editor, Brand Kits from the free plan upwards, and a review layer for teams. Its AI presentation feature drafts the deck, but Canva's strength is what you do after the draft, by hand, with colleagues.
Canva 81 / 100
Generation (5). Canva AI creates a presentation from a prompt or spoken request, an uploaded file or an existing design, can apply a Brand Kit, proposes an outline you can adjust, and then generates the deck; it is a premium AI tool that counts toward your monthly AI usage [6]. Design (5). A full design editor; Pro lists 3.6+ million templates and 141+ million photos, graphics, fonts and other assets, Free 1.6+ million and 4.7+ million [5]. Brand (5). One Brand Kit with three colours on Free, five on Pro, and 100 with approvals on Business; a Brand Kit can be applied when generating, and Edit with AI works with Brand Templates [5][6]. Import (3). PowerPoint import is an early beta in desktop browsers: .pptx up to 300 MB, .ppt up to 100 MB, up to 300 slides and 1,400 elements; charts, SmartArt, 3D objects and WordArt are ignored, and fonts may not match exactly [7a]. Other uploads are generous: PDF up to 300 MB and 500 pages, DOCX up to 300 MB, XLSX up to 100 MB [19]. Export (3). PPTX download is documented for presentations, with Canva's own warning that designs may look different in PowerPoint, that you may need to install the fonts, and that animations and embedded videos are not supported; the page does not tie PPTX to a plan [7b]. Research (3). Canva AI's Web Research brings in up-to-date results when you select "Sources"; citations on the slide are not described [6b]. Collaboration (5). Share with edit, comment or view access, see live updates by other users, and add approvals on Business [5][15]. Languages (4). Canva AI works in 17 languages including Arabic; Translate can mirror the page for right-to-left languages [6b][17]. Free plan (3). Free for anyone, with up to 20 Standard or Premium AI uses; Canva says K-12 schools and not-for-profits get most premium features free [5].
Best when: you want hands-on control of every element, a deep asset library and brand templates, and your audience sees the deck in Canva or as a PDF rather than as an edited PowerPoint file.
The practical question with Canva is where the deck ends up. If it is presented from Canva or sent as a PDF, the export caveats never matter. If a client will open and edit the .pptx, budget time to check fonts and layouts in PowerPoint, as Canva itself advises [7b]. Our NOXI vs Canva page goes deeper on that round trip.
Beautiful.ai: built for decks that stay on brand
Beautiful.ai is the guardrail option: Smart Slides re-layout automatically as content changes, Brand Kits carry colours, fonts, imagery and even brand voice into the AI, and Team plans can lock slides. It suits companies that produce many decks and want them to look alike without a designer checking each one.
Beautiful.ai 82 / 100
Generation (5). Create with AI takes a typed or spoken prompt plus documents, PDFs or links, turns it into a text-only outline you edit directly or by chat, then applies your theme, image source, image style and language before generating; since 28 September it asks questions first when you start from a topic [9][11]. Slide AI regenerates one slide at a time, with options to keep the exact text or regenerate only the image [12]. Design (4). Over 300 Smart Slide layouts that auto-format, with alternative layouts offered for each slide; the system is designed to keep alignment and spacing for you rather than to offer a blank canvas [8][12]. Brand (5). Brand Kits (renamed from Themes on 11 September) hold colours, fonts, logos and AI preferences such as brand voice and image style; Shared Brand Kits, locked slides and a centralised slide library are on Team; configurable brand guardrails on Enterprise [8][9]. Import (3). "PowerPoint import and export" is listed as part of every seat, but what the import keeps and its limits are not described on the pages checked [8]. Export (4). Editable PowerPoint export is available only on Pro, Team and Enterprise, as one slide or the whole deck, with every element editable; if the fonts are not installed, the export will be slightly different [12b]. Research (4). Slide AI can enable web search for a slide, and since 1 July 2026 Enterprise users can see the online sources behind AI-generated claims [9][12]. Collaboration (5). Real-time co-editing, threaded comments with resolve and reopen, version control, locked slides and viewer analytics [8][9]. Languages (5). Presentations in 100+ languages on Team, and right-to-left layouts in beta [8][9]. Free plan (2). There is no free plan: a 14-day trial of Pro or Team requires a credit card and is charged in full if not cancelled [8].
Best when: a team must produce many decks that look identical, a locked Brand Kit matters more than a free plan, and Pro at $174 a year or Team at $480 a user is budgeted.
One price conflict on Beautiful.ai's own pricing page: the Team card shows "$40 /MO (includes 3 users)", while the page's summary and FAQ say $40 per user per month billed annually for 2 to 20 seats. We use the per-user figure, which is the more expensive reading, and recommend asking sales before a team purchase [8]. For other options in the same niche, see our Beautiful.ai alternatives.
Gamma vs Canva, Gamma vs Beautiful.ai, Canva vs Beautiful.ai
Most searches compare two of the three, so here is each pairing in a sentence, then the detail. Gamma beats Canva on speed and the PowerPoint round trip; Canva beats Gamma on assets and team review. Gamma beats Beautiful.ai on price and freedom; Beautiful.ai beats Gamma on enforced consistency. Canva beats Beautiful.ai on design freedom and its free plan; Beautiful.ai beats Canva on editable PowerPoint export and automatic layout.
Gamma vs Canva for presentations
Choose Gamma when the deck starts as words, notes or an old file and must look finished quickly, especially if it will be imported from or exported to PowerPoint: Gamma 5's import keeps the original layouts and its export embeds theme fonts [2b][4]. Choose Canva when the deck is a designed object you will shape element by element, with brand templates, stock assets, comments and approvals, and it will be presented from Canva or sent as a PDF [5][15]. Since Gamma 5's freeform canvas, design control alone is no longer a reason to pick Canva; the asset library and team review still are.
Gamma vs Beautiful.ai
Both generate from a prompt or files, both export editable PowerPoint, and both document right-to-left. Gamma is cheaper to start (a free plan and Plus at $108 a year against a card-required trial and Pro at $174) and gives more freedom per slide [3][8]. Beautiful.ai deliberately gives less freedom: Smart Slides and locked Brand Kits stop a busy team from breaking the layout, and Team adds locked slides and a central library [8][9]. Pick by who builds the decks: one confident author, Gamma; twenty salespeople, Beautiful.ai.
Canva vs Beautiful.ai
Canva is a general design suite that also makes presentations; Beautiful.ai is a presentation tool only. Canva has a free plan, a far larger asset library and Brand Kits from Free upwards [5]. Beautiful.ai has editable PowerPoint export documented without Canva's look-different caveat, slide-level AI with web search, and auto-layout that keeps decks consistent [12][12b]. If your company already runs on Canva for social posts and documents, the shared Brand Kit tips it; if decks are the whole job, Beautiful.ai is more focused.
Head to head by job: six common decks
The fastest way to decide is to name the deck you build most often. Each row below picks from the documented capabilities above; the second choice is the one to try if the first does not fit your budget or workflow.
| Deck | First choice | Second choice | Why (documented) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quick internal update | Gamma | NOXI | Prompt or notes to a designed deck fast; a badge on a free internal export rarely matters. NOXI exports free without a watermark. |
| Client pitch in the client's brand | Gamma | Canva | Import the client's PPTX as a theme or keep its layouts on import; Canva if you need its brand templates and stock assets. |
| Brand-strict corporate deck, many authors | Beautiful.ai | Canva Business | Locked slides, Shared Brand Kits and auto-layout on Team; Canva Business adds 100 Brand Kits and approvals. |
| Data-heavy report with sourced figures | NOXI | Gamma | Researched figures with a source line on the slide; Gamma documents web search with citations. |
| Class presentation, no budget | Canva Free | NOXI | Free plan, education programme for schools, huge template library; NOXI if the slides must carry sources or leave as PowerPoint. |
| Arabic or Hebrew deck | Gamma | NOXI | Gamma documents right-to-left generation; NOXI has a full Arabic interface and right-to-left slides. Beautiful.ai's RTL layouts are in beta. |
Two rows deserve a note. For the data-heavy report, the requirement is not the chart but the source under it, and the tools differ in where they document it; our guide to AI presentations with research citations shows what a defensible source line looks like. For the client's brand, the cleanest route in any tool is to start from the client's own file; AI presentations in your own template walks through it.
Pricing reality: what each tool costs to unlock export and branding
For one person on annual billing, the cheapest way to send a badge-free or editable PowerPoint is Gamma Plus at $108 a year, then Canva Pro at US$144 and Beautiful.ai Pro at $174; NOXI costs $0. For custom branding, Gamma's entry is Pro at $216 a year, while Canva and Beautiful.ai include brand controls in Pro. All prices are list prices shown on 13 October 2026.

| What you need | Gamma | Canva | Beautiful.ai |
|---|---|---|---|
| Start free | Yes: 400 one-time credits, no card | Yes: up to 20 AI uses | No: 14-day trial, card required |
| PowerPoint without a badge | Plus: $9 × 12 = $108 a year ($12 × 12 = $144 billed monthly) | Plan not stated on the download page; Pro is US$144 a year | Pro: $14.50 × 12 = $174 a year ($45 × 12 = $540 billed monthly) |
| Custom branding | Pro: $18 × 12 = $216 a year ($25 × 12 = $300 billed monthly) | Pro: 5 Brand Kits, US$144 a year | Pro: custom brand styling, $174 a year |
| Team plan per person | Business: $40 × 12 = $480 a year | Business: US$250 a year | Team: $40 × 12 = $480 a year |
Conflicts and caveats. Gamma adds that prices are subject to tax by location [3]. Canva shows prices in the visitor's local currency: the same page opened from the United Arab Emirates showed Pro at 440 UAE dirhams and Business at 700 a year, so check the price in your own currency [5]. Third-party reviews quote Beautiful.ai Pro at $12 or $15 a month; the official page says $14.50 billed annually, and that is the figure used here [8].
The per-deck figure is not the whole decision. If the agency's clients only ever see a PDF, Canva's export caveat stops mattering and its assets may save more time than the price difference. If half the decks must survive a client's edits in PowerPoint, the export row in the side-by-side table matters more than the $4.58 gap per deck between Gamma Pro ($3.75) and Beautiful.ai Team ($8.33). Run the same arithmetic with your own seat count and deck volume before choosing.
Where NOXI fits: the free third route
NOXI is the option for a deck that has to be free, sourced, in your own style and editable in PowerPoint, all at once. It is an AI presentation maker built on leading AI models, and it sits alongside the three rather than replacing any of them: Canva's asset library and Beautiful.ai's locked team kits answer different needs.
- Free. No card and no watermark; each account gets 1,000 credits a month and a full deck uses about 25, so about 40 decks a month (1,000 ÷ 25).
- Sourced figures. When you start from a prompt, NOXI researches the topic on the web first, and slides with figures carry a source line linking to where each number came from.
- Your style. Upload any PowerPoint, PDF or even an image as a reference, and NOXI designs the new deck in that style: colours, typography, layouts and visual rhythm.
- Data. Twelve chart types, built from your data or from researched figures, with numbers you can edit inside NOXI; Excel and CSV files are accepted as input.
- The file. An editable PowerPoint (.pptx) with real text boxes and embedded fonts, Arabic included, plus PDF; full Arabic interface and right-to-left slides.
If you are choosing between NOXI and one of the three directly, our head-to-head pages cover that intent: NOXI vs Gamma and NOXI vs Canva. For every free route on the market, see the best free AI presentation maker guide.

Key terms used in this comparison
Three terms carry most of the weight in this comparison. Each is defined so the scores can be read the same way by everyone.
What this comparison does not measure
A documented score tells you what each tool is built to do, not how well it does it on your brief. It does not measure how good the first draft looks, how often a tool invents a figure, how long generation takes, or how a specific export opens on your colleague's machine. Those need the same brief run through each tool, which is what our June 2026 test did before Gamma 5. Nor does it weigh security reviews: Gamma and Beautiful.ai both state SOC 2 Type II on their pricing pages, and enterprise buyers should read each vendor's trust centre [3][8]. Before you commit a team, give two shortlisted tools the same real deck and compare the files.
Three prompts to run the same brief in NOXI
The fairest comparison is your own deck in each tool. These three prompts reproduce in NOXI the jobs where the tools differ most: a sourced deck from a prompt, a deck in an existing brand file, and a round trip back to PowerPoint.
Create a 10-slide presentation for [audience, e.g. the leadership team of a mid-size logistics company] on "[topic, e.g. whether to enter the Saudi market in 2027]". Research the topic first. Put a source line under every figure, use one chart per data slide, and write every slide title as a full sentence that states the finding. End with a recommendation and three next steps.
Use the attached [client's PowerPoint or PDF] as the style reference: match its colours, typography and layouts. Build a [12]-slide pitch for [client name] about [offer], using the attached [brief or notes]. Use my attached photos as-is on the case-study slides. Keep the client's logo on the title slide only.
Here is our [quarterly report].pptx. Keep the content and order, fix the formatting so every slide uses the same fonts, sizes and margins, turn the tables on slides [4] and [7] into clear charts, and shorten every title to one line. Then I will export it to PowerPoint for the client.
Build it in NOXI: six steps
Each step below uses a capability described above; the whole deck stays inside the free monthly allowance.
Step 1 — Describe the deck or attach your files
Type the topic, audience and length, or attach a PDF, Word, Excel or CSV file, PowerPoint or image of up to 200 MB. NOXI turns it into a structured deck.
Step 2 — Upload your template as the style
Use Match reference to upload your own PowerPoint, a PDF or a screenshot. NOXI designs the new deck in that style: colours, typography, layouts and visual rhythm.
Step 3 — Review the outline first
Choose to review the outline before generating, adjust slide titles and order, then generate. Watch each slide being built.
Step 4 — Check the source lines
For a deck started from a prompt, NOXI researches the topic first; open the source line under each figure and confirm it is the source you would cite.
Step 5 — Edit by chat, by click or by hand
Ask the AI to change one slide or the whole deck in plain English or Arabic, click any element and say what to change, or edit text, tables and chart numbers directly on the slide.
Step 6 — Share, present or export
Share a view-only or edit link, present full-screen from NOXI, or download an editable PowerPoint (.pptx) with embedded fonts, or a PDF, free and with no watermark.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Gamma better than Canva for presentations?
- For building a deck quickly from a prompt, notes or an old file, yes: Gamma scores 92 against Canva's 81 on our nine documented criteria, helped by Gamma 5's freeform canvas and design-keeping PowerPoint import. Canva is better when you want to design every element by hand, use its large asset library and brand templates, and collect comments and approvals from a team.
- What is new in Gamma 5?
- Gamma 5, released on 6 October 2026 for every user on every plan, adds a far wider range of visual styles, a switch between agent-led editing and a freeform canvas, an agent that asks questions and keeps context, enterprise connectors such as Slack and Granola, and PowerPoint and PDF import that keeps the original design editable. Gamma says memory of brand guidelines comes next.
- Is Beautiful.ai free?
- No. Beautiful.ai has no free plan; it offers a 14-day trial of Pro or Team that requires a credit card and is charged in full if you do not cancel before it ends. Pro costs $14.50 a month billed annually, or $45 billed monthly, and editable PowerPoint export starts on Pro, according to its pricing page and help centre on 13 October 2026.
- Can Gamma import a PowerPoint?
- Yes. Gamma imports .pptx and .docx files up to 200 MB and PDFs up to 100 MB. Imported from the Gamma 5 home screen, a PowerPoint keeps its original layouts, design and structure and stays editable, though some charts may arrive as images and unavailable fonts are substituted. The classic generator imports only the text. Excel and Keynote files cannot be imported directly.
- Can you export Canva or Gamma presentations to PowerPoint?
- Both export .pptx files. Gamma exports PowerPoint on every plan with theme fonts embedded and editable tables, but Free-plan exports carry a "Made by Gamma" badge. Canva downloads presentations as PPTX and warns that designs may look different in PowerPoint, that fonts may need installing, and that animations and embedded videos are not supported.
- Which is best for business: Gamma, Canva or Beautiful.ai?
- It depends on who builds the decks. A few confident authors who want speed and freedom fit Gamma, from $40 a seat a month billed annually on Business. A company already designing everything in Canva fits Canva Business at US$250 a year per person. Many authors who must stay on brand fit Beautiful.ai Team, with locked slides and Shared Brand Kits, at $40 a user a month billed annually.
- Which of the three supports Arabic and right-to-left slides?
- Gamma documents right-to-left generation and editing for Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew and Urdu. Beautiful.ai lists right-to-left layouts as a beta. Canva AI works in 17 languages including Arabic, and its Translate feature can mirror a page for right-to-left languages. NOXI has a full Arabic interface, right-to-left slides and Arabic fonts embedded in the PowerPoint file.
- Is there a free alternative to Gamma, Canva and Beautiful.ai?
- NOXI is free with no card and no watermark: each account gets 1,000 credits a month and a full deck uses about 25. It researches prompt-only decks with a source line on figures, designs in the style of an uploaded PowerPoint or PDF, and exports an editable PowerPoint. Gamma and Canva also have free plans, with a badge on Gamma's exports and a limited AI allowance on Canva.
Sources & methodology
How this comparison was made: Gamma, Canva and Beautiful.ai were scored on nine weighted criteria from their official pricing pages, help centres, changelogs and announcements, all opened on 13 October 2026; pages that blocked automated reading were opened in a normal browser. Scores credit documented capability only and are editorial judgements by NOXI, which includes itself as a reference row scored by the same anchors from its product documentation. The agency in the pricing section is a fictional example. Prices are list prices as displayed and change often.

Run your next deck through the tool that fits its job. If that job is a sourced deck in your own template that leaves as an editable PowerPoint, NOXI is free: describe the topic or attach your files, upload your template as the style, and download the .pptx.
