Disclosure: NOXI publishes this page and is one of the tools scored. That's why the rules, weights and the source of every cell are printed, along with where NOXI loses points.
Quick answer: Choose PowerPoint with Copilot when the file, your slide master and your Microsoft account are fixed: Copilot edits the .pptx itself. Choose Gamma for a fast draft you will present as a web page. On seven printed rules the two tie at 83 (25 October 2026); Copilot comes first on the tie-break. NOXI, a third option, scores 98.
Gamma vs PowerPoint is really a choice between where a deck lives. Gamma starts from a prompt and keeps the deck as a web page you can export; PowerPoint starts and ends as a file, and Copilot now works inside it. The pages ranking for this comparison on 25 October 2026 mostly skip today's Copilot prices, Gamma's own export notes and any printed scoring rule. This page reads both vendors' official pages on one day, prints the rule behind every score, and only then adds a third option.

Key numbers
The measures differ (users, revenue, seats, prices) and none is part of the score: no rule rewards size.
How we scored Gamma, PowerPoint with Copilot and NOXI
All three products were scored on documented capability: seven criteria, one written rule each, applied the same way to every row. We re-applied the rules of our AI presentation tools ranking on 25 October 2026; the rules, anchors and weights are those printed in the ranking's method section.
| Code | Criterion | Weight | The rule (identical for every row) |
|---|---|---|---|
| P1 | Editable PPTX export | 20 | 5 = an editable .pptx with real text boxes on the free plan with no badge, or the tool edits the native PowerPoint or Google Slides file; 4 = same export on paid plans only, or free with a badge; 3 = the vendor documents visible differences, substituted fonts or elements that become images; 2 = PDF or images only; 1 = no file export. |
| P2 | Editing depth | 20 | 5 = four AI levels documented: whole deck, one slide, one selected element, your own template or brand kit as the style; 4 = three; 3 = two; 1 = regeneration or manual editing only. |
| P3 | Research with sources | 15 | 5 = web research and the source shown on the slide; 4 = cited research, placement not stated; 3 = research or citations in the chat only; 2 = grounds on uploads, no sources shown; 1 = none. |
| P4 | Import | 15 | 5 = PDF, Word, Excel or CSV, PowerPoint and images all accepted to create a deck, with a stated size limit; 4 = four of five, or all five with no limit; 3 = two or three types; 2 = one; 1 = text prompt only. |
| P5 | Languages incl. RTL | 10 | 5 = right-to-left layout documented; 4 = a language list naming Arabic; 3 = "many languages" without a list; 2 = no list; 1 = English only. |
| P6 | Free plan reality | 10 | 5 = free generation and editable export, no card, no watermark, stated monthly allowance; 4 = free generation with a badged export or a small one-time pool; 3 = free generation without PowerPoint export; 2 = time-limited trial only; 1 = no free use. |
| P7 | Where it runs | 10 | 5 = web plus inside PowerPoint or Google Slides plus an API, MCP server or connectors; 4 = web plus one of those; 3 = web plus desktop or mobile apps; 2 = web only, or a single host app. |
Our June 2026 hands-on test of twelve presentation makers is a different method, with its own date, and is not added to these totals; its results are on the best AI presentation makers page, where Gamma produced the fastest first draft.
The scored table: Gamma and PowerPoint with Copilot tie at 83, NOXI 98
Gamma and PowerPoint with Copilot both score 83 out of 100 on the seven rules. Gamma gains 10 points on the free plan, imports and research; Copilot wins the same 10 back on the PowerPoint file and where it runs. The printed tie-break (P1, then P2, then P3) lists Copilot first, because it edits the .pptx itself (P1: 5 against 3). NOXI, scored by the same rules as a third option, totals 98.

| Criterion | Gamma: rating and reason | PowerPoint with Copilot: rating and reason | NOXI: rating and reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| P1 Export (20) | 3. Export article has a section "Export Limitations and Visual Differences"; Free exports carry the "Made by Gamma" badge [7] | 5. Copilot "generates or edits content directly within PowerPoint": no export step [13] | 5. Editable .pptx with real text boxes and embedded fonts, on the free plan, no watermark [30] |
| P2 Editing (20) | 5. "You can edit at any level, from your whole gamma down to a single element"; templates via Add a template [8][9] | 5. Whole deck, "Update slides 4-6", "Make the image on this slide photorealistic", Brand Kit [13] | 5. Whole deck or one slide by chat, a selected element, Match reference with your PowerPoint or PDF as the style [30] |
| P3 Research (15) | 4. "Ask the AI to search the web and pull in citations" (placement not stated) [8] | 3. "Copilot's response cites the sources it uses": in the response, not on the slide [15] | 5. Prompt-started decks research the web; slides with figures carry a source line [30] |
| P4 Import (15) | 5. PPTX and Word up to 200 MB, PDF up to 100 MB, Excel as CSV through the Gamma AI Agent, images up to 50 megapixels [9] | 4. Home: "a single Word file"; work: also a PDF; a spreadsheet as a chart source; an attached image in Agent Mode (desktop, launched July 2026) [13][14][31] | 5. PDF, Word, Excel or CSV, PowerPoint and images, up to 200 MB per file [30] |
| P5 Languages (10) | 4. "supports right-to-left (RTL) languages, including Arabic"; right-aligned text is documented, mirrored layouts are not addressed [10] | 4. Arabic listed for work and personal accounts; no RTL layout statement [16] | 5. Right-to-left slides; timelines and tables run right to left [30] |
| P6 Free plan (10) | 4. 400 credits at signup that "do not refresh"; no card [6][4] | 2. "a one-month trial" of Personal, Family and Premium [5] | 5. 1,000 credits a month, a deck about 25; no card, no watermark [30] |
| P7 Where it runs (10) | 4. Web plus an API "on any plan, including Free" and an MCP server that "works on every plan"; no add-in [11] | 5. PowerPoint for Windows, Mac and the web, plus admin-enabled connectors [13][15] | 4. Web plus an MCP connector for assistants at mcp.noxi.ai/mcp: web plus one of those [29] |
The arithmetic, row by row
Each weighted score is the rating divided by 5, times the criterion's weight; totals are the sums of the seven.
| Criterion | Gamma | PowerPoint with Copilot | NOXI |
|---|---|---|---|
| P1 (20) | 3 ÷ 5 × 20 = 12 | 5 ÷ 5 × 20 = 20 | 5 ÷ 5 × 20 = 20 |
| P2 (20) | 5 ÷ 5 × 20 = 20 | 20 | 20 |
| P3 (15) | 4 ÷ 5 × 15 = 12 | 3 ÷ 5 × 15 = 9 | 15 |
| P4 (15) | 5 ÷ 5 × 15 = 15 | 4 ÷ 5 × 15 = 12 | 15 |
| P5 (10) | 4 ÷ 5 × 10 = 8 | 4 ÷ 5 × 10 = 8 | 10 |
| P6 (10) | 4 ÷ 5 × 10 = 8 | 2 ÷ 5 × 10 = 4 | 10 |
| P7 (10) | 4 ÷ 5 × 10 = 8 | 5 ÷ 5 × 10 = 10 | 4 ÷ 5 × 10 = 8 |
| Total | 12 + 20 + 12 + 15 + 8 + 8 + 8 = 83 | 20 + 20 + 9 + 12 + 8 + 4 + 10 = 83 | 20 + 20 + 15 + 15 + 10 + 10 + 8 = 98 |
The two gaps, explained
- Gamma minus Copilot = 0. Gamma gains on P3 (+3), P4 (+3) and P6 (+4) = 10; Copilot gains on P1 (+8) and P7 (+2) = 10. 10 − 10 = 0 = 83 − 83. They are level on editing depth (P2) and languages (P5); the tie-break on P1 (5 against 3) lists Copilot first.
- NOXI minus Gamma = 15. NOXI gains on P1 (+8), P3 (+3), P5 (+2) and P6 (+2) = 15 = 98 − 83. Editing, import and where it runs are level.
- NOXI minus Copilot = 15. NOXI gains on P3 (+6), P4 (+3), P5 (+2) and P6 (+6) = 17; Copilot leads NOXI on P7 (+2), because it runs inside PowerPoint itself. 17 − 2 = 15 = 98 − 83.
What would change the result
- Gamma 87 on our 11 October reading of P1, which scored the badge (4) and set the visual-differences section aside.
- Gamma 80 if Excel saved as CSV through the Gamma AI Agent is not counted as an import (P4 = 4).
- PowerPoint with Copilot 81 if admin-enabled work connectors are not counted (P7 = 4).
- PowerPoint with Copilot 80 if a spreadsheet used as a chart source is not counted as an import (P4 = 3).
- NOXI 94 if its connector is not counted (P7 = 2); NOXI 89 for a deck started from an attached file, where research and source lines are off by default (P3 = 2); NOXI 90 if the in-product export notices (complex graphics kept as pictures) were counted as documented differences (P1 = 3). They are in-app messages, not an official page, so the same official-pages rule applied to every vendor keeps P1 at 5.
Because the two tie, each line alone decides the order: three put Gamma ahead (87 to 83, 83 to 81, 83 to 80) and one puts Copilot ahead (83 to 80). Read the two as level and choose by the job.
Gamma vs Claude for PowerPoint
On the same seven rules, Claude scores 81: two points below both Gamma and PowerPoint with Copilot (83 each). The full head-to-head is in Claude Slides vs Gamma.
Gamma vs PowerPoint price: plans side by side
Gamma's paid plans start at $9 per seat a month on annual billing; Copilot in PowerPoint comes with Microsoft 365 Personal at $9.99 a month, or with a $18 Copilot Business add-on for work. The free tiers differ most: Gamma gives 400 one-time credits, while PowerPoint for the web is free and Microsoft lists Copilot deck creation under its paid home plans.
| Step | Gamma (USD) | Microsoft (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, "400 credits at signup" that "do not refresh"; up to 10 slides per prompt; "Made by Gamma" badge on PDF and PPTX exports [4][6][7] | PowerPoint for the web and mobile with a free Microsoft account and 5 GB; "a limited free version of Copilot"; Copilot deck creation listed only for paid home plans [5][19][24] |
| One person | Plus $9 per seat a month annual ($108 a year) or $12 monthly; Pro $18 ($216 a year) or $25; Ultra $90 ($1,080 a year) or $100 [4] | Microsoft 365 Personal $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year; Premium $19.99 or $199.99; Pro $99.99, "Monthly billing only" [5] |
| Teams | Business $40 per seat a month, $480 billed annually [4] | Copilot Business add-on $18 per user a month paid yearly (promotion, normally $21), $25.20 monthly; Business Standard with Copilot $23.50; Microsoft 365 Copilot (enterprise add-on) $30 [17][18] |
| One-time | None | Office Home 2024, "One-time purchase for PC or Mac", $179.99 (no Copilot in the apps) [19] |
US list prices before tax, opened on 25 October 2026. Microsoft's add-on promotion runs from 1 July to 31 December 2026 and "applies to the first year only" [17].

Is Copilot in PowerPoint free?
Microsoft's pages don't confirm it for a free account. Microsoft offers "a limited free version of Copilot", but its compare page lists "Generate a presentation outline and format with Copilot in PowerPoint" only in the Personal, Family and Premium columns, and work accounts need a Copilot licence; the home plans have "a one-month trial" [5][19].
Is Gamma better than PowerPoint? The task chooser
Gamma is better than PowerPoint for some documented jobs and PowerPoint for others: Gamma drafts from a prompt, imports more file types and documents right-to-left Arabic text; PowerPoint with Copilot keeps your file, your slide master and your Microsoft account in one place. If you can name the job, the table answers it.
| If you need… | Choose | The documented reason |
|---|---|---|
| A deck shared as a link | Gamma | Decks, docs and websites publish on the web; Pro adds "Detailed analytics & advanced sharing" and custom domains [4] |
| The client's own .pptx | PowerPoint with Copilot | Copilot edits "directly within PowerPoint"; nothing to export [13] |
| Your company template | PowerPoint with Copilot (work) | Brand Kit accepts .pptx and .potx; Copilot falls back to the slide master [26] |
| A draft from a PDF or CSV | Gamma | PDF up to 100 MB and CSV through the Gamma AI Agent; Copilot home plans take "a single Word file", plus an image in Agent Mode [9][14][31] |
| Arabic, right to left | Gamma, narrowly | Right-to-left Arabic text documented; Microsoft lists Arabic for Copilot without an RTL statement. Neither documents mirrored layouts, so both score 4 [10][16] |
| Working offline | PowerPoint | Desktop apps "work offline"; Gamma's pages document a web app [4][25] |
| Zoom and Morph | PowerPoint | Both are PowerPoint features; neither is documented by Gamma [21][22] |
| Free to try | Gamma | 400 credits with no card; Copilot in PowerPoint starts with a one-month trial [5][6] |
Gamma or PowerPoint: the one-line rule
Choose PowerPoint with Copilot when the file, your slide master and your Microsoft tenant are fixed; choose Gamma for the fastest wide-range draft you will present as a web page; if you want a fast draft but an editable PowerPoint at the end, read the export notes each vendor publishes before you commit.
A Gamma deck vs a PowerPoint file
A Gamma deck is a web document first: it scrolls or pages in the browser, can carry embeds, and becomes a .pptx only when you export it. A PowerPoint deck is a file first: it opens offline, travels by email and keeps its slide master.
Gamma AI vs PowerPoint, and the Gamma app vs PowerPoint
Gamma is an AI-first app: generation, editing and research run through its AI, with a manual mode for direct changes [8]. PowerPoint is a manual editor with Copilot added: Copilot, including Brand Kit, "is available in PowerPoint for Windows, Mac, and the web" [13].
Gamma vs PowerPoint with Copilot for AI drafting and editing
Both document all four levels of AI editing, so they tie on editing depth (20 each): Gamma edits "from your whole gamma down to a single element", and Copilot handles a whole deck, a range of slides and a single image. The differences are what each starts from and where the edit lands.
- Starting point. Gamma drafts from a prompt, pasted text or an import, and can "Click + > Add a template before generating" [8][9]. Copilot drafts inside PowerPoint from a prompt or, on home plans, "a single Word file"; work accounts may also use a PDF [14], and Agent Mode on desktop can take an attached image [31].
- Example edits. Microsoft's page shows "Update slides 4-6 for a UK audience" and "Make the image on this slide photorealistic" [13]. Gamma's page says to "Click the sparkle icon on a slide to edit that slide" [8].
- Research. Gamma can "search the web and pull in citations to support your points" [8]. Copilot's connectors let it "use information from connected apps", and "Copilot's response cites the sources it uses": the citations sit in the response [15].
- New in October 2026. Microsoft's release notes of 6 October 2026 add custom skills in Copilot in PowerPoint on Windows [28]; Gamma 5 (6 October 2026) rebuilt editing, import and export [1].
Copilot vs Gamma: does Copilot make Gamma unnecessary?
Not by the documented facts. If your organisation already pays for Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot covers drafting and editing inside the file, with no new tool to approve. Gamma still documents things Copilot does not: CSV imports, PDF imports on every plan, right-to-left Arabic text, web publishing with analytics, and an API and MCP server on Free [4][9][10][11].
Microsoft Copilot vs Gamma on price
For one person, Microsoft 365 Personal ($99.99 a year) and Gamma Plus ($108 a year) cost almost the same: $8.01 apart [4][5]. For a team already on Microsoft 365, the Copilot Business add-on at $18 a user a month costs exactly what Gamma Pro does, $18 a seat, on annual billing; Gamma Business is $40 [4][17].
Can Gamma export to PowerPoint? Gamma's own export notes
Yes: every Gamma plan exports to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides, but Free exports carry a "Made by Gamma" badge, and Gamma's help article lists visual differences in the file. Gamma documents those limits itself, which is why its P1 score is 3, not 4.
What Gamma's export article says, checked 25 October 2026 [7]:
- Badge. "The 'Made by Gamma' badge appears on PDF and PPTX exports" when the workspace is on the Free plan; Plus removes branding [4].
- Visual differences. Gradient headings "May render differently or default to a single colour in export"; frosted backgrounds "May use fallback styles".
- No slide master. "PowerPoint and Google Slides exports don't include a slide master layout", so the Slide Master view opens blank, while each slide keeps its styling.
- Fonts. Gamma embeds the theme's heading and body fonts and their bold weights in the .pptx; italic text uses a slanted regular font.
- Tables. Tables export "as real, editable tables", on all plans; images export as PNG files.
Is the Gamma export editable?
Yes, for text and tables: the article describes editable tables and embedded fonts. The limits are design effects that may fall back, and the missing slide master. If your team edits the deck in PowerPoint afterwards, test one exported file against your template before you build a client deck on it.
For the font side of any PowerPoint hand-off, see our guide to embedding fonts in PowerPoint.
Can Gamma import PowerPoint? Gamma 5's imports
Yes: Gamma imports PowerPoint (.pptx) and Word (.docx) files up to 200 MB and PDFs up to 100 MB, and "In Gamma 5, PowerPoint and PDF imports keep your original layouts, design, and structure" [9]. Excel cannot be imported directly; Gamma's workaround is to save it as CSV and upload it to the Gamma AI Agent.
- Images: capped at 50 megapixels; "Larger images are rejected even if they're small in MB" [9].
- Charts: "some charts arrive as static images"; you can move, resize and crop them, or rebuild them as Gamma chart blocks [9].
- As a template: on the dashboard, Import, then "Import a template" under More options creates a reusable workspace template [9].
Copilot needs no import, because it works on the open file. On home plans it can build a deck from "a single Word file"; on work accounts, also from a PDF [14]. Microsoft's roadmap adds attaching an image when creating a presentation with Agent Mode on desktop (launched July 2026) [31].
Templates and brand: Copilot Brand Kit vs Gamma themes
For a fixed corporate template, PowerPoint with Copilot on a work licence is the documented route: Brand Kit accepts .pptx and .potx template files, and Copilot uses the slide master when there are not enough sample slides [26]. Gamma turns an imported PowerPoint or PDF into a reusable template in its own format [9].
Two practical consequences. A Microsoft 365 Personal user can still open their own template and ask Copilot to work in it, but the organisation-wide Brand Kit is for licensed work users. And Gamma's Pro plan lists "Custom branding" for themes inside Gamma [4]; that branding travels into the export as styling, not as a slide master. If your template is the hard constraint, see making an AI presentation with your own template.
What PowerPoint does that Gamma doesn't
PowerPoint documents presenting and offline features that Gamma's pages do not: Summary, Slide and Section Zoom, the Morph transition, Designer suggestions and desktop apps that work offline. None is scored, because none is about making a deck with AI, but for some presenters they decide the question.
| Feature | What Microsoft documents | Where it works |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom | "A summary zoom is like a landing page where you can see the pieces of your presentation all at once"; Slide Zoom jumps between slides in any order [21] | Create: Microsoft 365 (Windows 1607+, Mac 16.19+), PowerPoint 2019–2024 on Windows and 2021–2024 on Mac; mobile apps play zooms; not listed for PowerPoint for the web [21] |
| Morph | Animates "smooth movement from one slide to the next"; charts don't morph [22] | Microsoft 365 and newer standalone versions; mobile creation needs a subscription [22] |
| Designer | Design suggestions for the slide you are on [23] | Desktop: subscribers only; PowerPoint for the web: everyone [23] |
| Offline apps | Desktop apps with Microsoft 365 Personal "work offline"; connect at least every 31 days [25] | Windows and Mac desktop |
| One-time licence | Office Home 2024, "One-time purchase for PC or Mac", $179.99, no subscription [19] | Desktop, without Copilot in the apps |
Gamma vs PowerPoint offline
Only PowerPoint documents offline work: the desktop apps run without a connection, though a subscription must reconnect at least every 31 days or the apps drop to reduced functionality [25]. Gamma documents a web product, so plan on a connection to edit or present a Gamma, or export a PDF or PPTX for the room.
Gamma vs PowerPoint for Arabic
Gamma documents right-to-left text: "Gamma now supports right-to-left (RTL) languages, including Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, and Urdu", and text "will automatically align to the right" [10]. It does not say whether slide layouts mirror, so its language score is 4, the same as Copilot's. Microsoft lists Arabic among Copilot's supported languages for work and personal accounts, but its Copilot pages make no RTL layout statement, and Designer's suggestions "only officially" support the en-US locale [14][16].
Gamma vs PowerPoint for pitch decks
For a pitch deck sent as a link, Gamma's web publishing and Pro analytics fit the job; for a deck an investor or bank asks for as a file, or one built on your company template, PowerPoint with Copilot keeps the .pptx as the master copy. Most founders need both a link and a file at some point.
- A link you can follow up on. Gamma Pro lists "Detailed analytics & advanced sharing" and custom domains [4].
- A file for a data room. A .pptx you built in PowerPoint needs no conversion; a Gamma export arrives without a slide master and with the badge on Free [7].
- Numbers. Neither tool's research replaces your own model: Gamma's citations and Copilot's response citations still need checking against your figures [8][15].
For the structure investors expect, see our business plan presentation guide.
Does Gamma or Microsoft train on your slides?
Microsoft says prompts, responses and file contents in Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps "aren't used to train foundation models" on home plans, and on work plans "Prompts and responses are not used to train the underlying large language models" [17][20]. Gamma's individual plans allow training by default, with an opt-out.
- Gamma, Free to Ultra: "Data is allowed to be used to train AI models"; switch it off under Account settings, Data Controls: "You can opt-out any time" [12].
- Gamma Business and Enterprise: data "is automatically excluded from being used for training" [12].
- Microsoft home: the statement covers Personal, Family, Premium and Pro with a personal Microsoft account [20].
Privacy is not one of the seven scored rules, so these differences do not move any total.
Worked example: one sales team, Gamma, Copilot or both
For a five-person team already on Microsoft 365 Business Standard, the Copilot Business add-on costs $1,080 in the first year at the promotional price, Gamma Plus $540 and Gamma Business $2,400. The deciding fact is the file the team delivers, not the price.
Step 1: what the team delivers
Each of the five people sends about 6 client decks a month, so the team makes 5 × 6 = 30 decks a month. Every deck must arrive as an editable .pptx in the team's own style; a web link alone does not meet the brief.
Step 2: the cost of a year
| Option | Price used | First year, 5 people |
|---|---|---|
| Gamma Plus (annual) | $108 per seat a year | 5 × $108 = $540 |
| Gamma Business (annual) | $480 per seat a year | 5 × $480 = $2,400 |
| Copilot Business add-on, promotion | $18 per user a month, paid yearly | 5 × $18 × 12 = $1,080 |
| Copilot Business add-on, list | $21 per user a month, paid yearly | 5 × $21 × 12 = $1,260 |
| NOXI | Free, 1,000 credits a month per account | $0 |
Gamma Free is out: 400 one-time credits and a badge on every export do not fit 30 client decks a month [6][7]. Gamma Plus removes the badge, but its exports still arrive without a slide master, which matters to a team whose clients edit the file.
Step 3: does the free allowance cover the work?
Each person makes 6 decks a month at about 25 credits each: 6 × 25 = 150 credits a month, 15% of a 1,000-credit allowance (150 ÷ 1,000 = 0.15). Each account could make 1,000 ÷ 25 = 40 decks a month before running out.
Step 4: the decision
Priya chooses to draft client decks in NOXI with the team's PowerPoint template as the reference, download each as an editable .pptx and finish small edits in PowerPoint. She postpones the Copilot add-on until the team sets up a Brand Kit, which needs a Copilot work licence anyway [14]. Against the add-on at the promotional price, that saves $1,080 in the first year; against Gamma Plus, $540. She sets a review date of 1 April 2027, after the Microsoft promotion has ended and the list price of $1,260 a year applies to new purchases.

Here are three slides from the deck NOXI built for this article's worked example, unedited.

What these rules don't measure
The seven rules measure documented capability, not the quality of the slides, so several real strengths of Gamma and PowerPoint score nothing here. Read this list before you treat any total as a verdict on your own work.
- Gamma: web publishing of decks, docs and sites; detailed analytics and advanced sharing on Pro; more than 100 million people have used it (6 October 2026); an API and MCP server on every plan, Free included [1][4][11]. In our June 2026 hands-on test (a separate method) it produced the fastest first draft.
- PowerPoint with Copilot: works inside the file Microsoft 365 users already have, with Brand Kit (.pptx and .potx), Designer, Zoom and Morph; for organisations on Microsoft 365 there is no new tool to approve [13][21][22][26].
- Not measured for anyone: design quality and taste, speed, how often a tool invents a figure, accessibility, comments and review workflows, video, offline presenting. NOXI's export notices, where complex graphics can be kept as pictures, are not scored either (sensitivity above).
Where others lead NOXI, in plain terms: Copilot works inside PowerPoint and its desktop apps work offline; NOXI runs in the browser on desktop and phone and hands you an editable .pptx. Gamma publishes decks as websites with analytics; NOXI shares a view-only or edit link to the deck.
Where NOXI fits: the third option
NOXI fits between the two: it drafts from a prompt or a file the way Gamma does, and ends in an editable PowerPoint the way a PowerPoint user needs. NOXI scores highest on these seven rules (98), and it is our pick for teams that want a fast first draft and a free, editable .pptx without a badge.
Describe your topic and NOXI builds the full deck; when you start from a prompt, it researches the topic on the web first, and slides with figures carry a source line. You can also upload a PDF, Word document, Excel or CSV file, PowerPoint or image, up to 200 MB per file. Ask the AI to change one slide or the whole deck in plain language, click any element and say what to change, or use Match reference to design the deck in the style of your own PowerPoint or PDF.
Download an editable PowerPoint (.pptx), free and with no watermark: NOXI's own export engine writes real, editable text boxes and embeds the fonts, Arabic included. Export a PDF, present full-screen or share a link. NOXI is free, with no card: each account gets a monthly allowance of 1,000 credits, and a full deck uses about 25. Your presentations, prompts and files are not used to train AI models.

Three prompts for a Gamma-or-PowerPoint decision deck
"Create a 9-slide deck for [team] deciding between Gamma and PowerPoint with Copilot. Slide 2 states what we deliver to clients. Show plans per seat in US dollars with the date, the first-year cost for [number] people, and end with the decision, the owner and a review date."
"Turn this comparison into an 8-slide deck: the one-line rule, the seven criteria with weights, a table of each tool's points with the arithmetic, where each one leads, and what the rules don't measure. Every title is a full-sentence finding."
"On slide [number], turn the price list into a two-column table, Gamma and Microsoft, one row per plan. Shorten every title to one line, keep our template's colours, then export the deck as PowerPoint."
Build it: a deck in your PowerPoint template's style with Match reference
To get a Gamma-speed draft that looks like your company PowerPoint, use NOXI's Match reference: upload the template or a deck you like as the reference, put your content in the brief, and download an editable .pptx. One flow, six steps:
Step 1 — Sign in to NOXI with a free account
Open noxi.ai and sign in or create a free account; uploads and exports need one. No card is needed, and each account gets 1,000 credits a month.
Step 2 — Choose Match reference on Home
On NOXI Home, open More and choose Match reference. It designs a new deck in the style of a file you provide: colours, typography, layouts and visual rhythm.
Step 3 — Upload your template or a deck you like
Upload your company PowerPoint template, a PDF of a deck you want to match, or even an image of a slide. This file is the reference for the look, not the content.
Step 4 — Put your content in the brief
Describe the deck in the brief: audience, slide count, the decision and the facts, for example "9 slides for Raman Partners: Gamma, PowerPoint or both, with plans per seat, the first-year cost for five people and the decision". Paste any table you want on a slide.
Step 5 — Let NOXI design it, then edit by chat
Watch each slide being built in your reference's style. Then ask the AI to change one slide or the whole deck, click any element and say what to change, or edit text, tables and chart numbers on the slide.
Step 6 — Download an editable PowerPoint or a PDF
Download the deck as an editable PowerPoint (.pptx) with real text boxes and embedded fonts, free and with no watermark, or as a PDF. You can also present it full-screen or share a view-only or edit link.
Gamma vs PowerPoint: FAQ
- Is Gamma better than PowerPoint?
- On seven documented rules checked on 25 October 2026, Gamma and PowerPoint with Copilot tie at 83. Gamma leads on imports, its free plan and research citations. PowerPoint leads by editing the .pptx itself and running in Windows, Mac and the web, and comes first on the tie-break. Choose by whether you deliver a web page or a file.
- Can Gamma export to PowerPoint?
- Yes. Every Gamma plan exports to PPTX, PDF, PNG and Google Slides. On the Free plan, PDF and PPTX exports carry a "Made by Gamma" badge, which Plus removes. Gamma's help article also lists visual differences, such as gradient headings that may change, and says PowerPoint exports don't include a slide master layout.
- Is the Gamma export editable?
- Mostly. Gamma says tables export as real, editable tables on all plans, and it embeds the theme's heading and body fonts in the .pptx. Gradient headings and frosted backgrounds may fall back to simpler styles, and the file has no slide master, so test one export against your template before relying on it.
- Does Copilot in PowerPoint replace Gamma?
- For teams already licensed for Copilot, it covers AI drafting and editing inside the PowerPoint file, including whole decks, slide ranges and single images. Gamma still documents things Copilot doesn't: CSV imports, right-to-left Arabic text, web publishing with analytics, and an API and MCP server on every plan, Free included.
- Is Copilot in PowerPoint free?
- Microsoft doesn't confirm it for a free account. It offers a limited free Copilot, but its compare page lists presentation generation in PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 Personal, Family and Premium, from $9.99 a month, with a one-month trial. Work accounts need a Copilot licence, such as the $18 Business add-on on promotion until 31 December 2026.
- Which is cheaper, Gamma or Microsoft 365?
- For one person they are close: Gamma Plus costs $108 a year and Microsoft 365 Personal $99.99 a year, which also includes the Word, Excel and Outlook desktop apps. For teams, Gamma Pro and the Copilot Business add-on both cost $18 a seat a month on annual billing; Gamma Business costs $40. US prices, 25 October 2026.
- Can Gamma use my PowerPoint template?
- Yes, in Gamma's own format. Import a PowerPoint or PDF and choose Import a template to create a reusable template; Gamma 5 imports keep the original layouts and design. Exports back to PowerPoint carry each slide's styling but no slide master. Copilot's Brand Kit uses your .pptx or .potx directly, on a work licence.
- Does Gamma work offline?
- Gamma documents a web product, so editing and presenting a Gamma needs a connection; export a PDF or PPTX if the venue has none. PowerPoint's desktop apps work offline with Microsoft 365, provided the subscription reconnects at least every 31 days, and Office Home 2024 is a one-time desktop licence at $179.99.
- Which is better for pitch decks, Gamma or PowerPoint?
- Gamma suits a pitch deck shared as a link: Pro adds detailed analytics, advanced sharing and custom domains. PowerPoint suits a deck an investor asks for as a file or one built on a company template, because the .pptx stays the master copy. Many founders send a link first and a file on request.
- Does Gamma or Microsoft train on my slides?
- Microsoft says prompts, responses and file contents in Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps aren't used to train foundation models on home plans, and work prompts aren't used either. Gamma's Free, Plus, Pro and Ultra plans allow training by default, with an opt-out under Data Controls; Business and Enterprise are excluded automatically.
