Best ChatGPT plugins for presentations, a NOXI blog cover. Your deck, from the chat: ten ChatGPT plugins that make presentations scored on six printed rules from official pages

Disclosure: NOXI publishes this page and is one of the tools scored. That's why the rules, weights and the source of every cell are printed, along with where NOXI loses points.

Quick answer: On six printed rules checked on 27 October 2026, NOXI scores highest of the ChatGPT plugins for presentations (96 of 100), then Canva (84), Presentations.AI (82), Gamma and Figma (81 each). Pick Canva for visual drafts on Canva Free, Presentations.AI for an editable PowerPoint on a $0 plan. Custom GPTs are scheduled to retire on 11 December 2026.

ChatGPT now has a directory of plugins that make presentations, while many "best GPTs for presentations" lists describe products about to retire. A plugin is worth installing only if the chat can build the whole deck, change it by follow-up message and hand you an editable PowerPoint. This page scores ten plugins on exactly that.

In short

  • Top 10NOXI 96, Canva 84, Presentations.AI 82, Gamma 81, Figma 81, Decktopus 79 and SlidesGPT 79 (tied), Prezi 78, Plus AI 76, SlideSpeak 75.
  • MethodDocumented capability from official pages opened on 27 October 2026; not a new hands-on test. Six criteria, weights total 100, one rule per criterion for every plugin.
  • Three checksWhole deck from your chat or file, changes by follow-up message, and an editable PowerPoint on the free plan without a badge.
  • Where NOXI loses pointsResearch with sources: 3 of 5, because the plugin route documents web research but not where the citations appear. NOXI is 100 if its on-slide source lines count for plugin decks.
  • Before you trust an old listThe App Directory became the Plugin Directory on 9 July 2026, and custom GPTs are scheduled to retire on 11 December 2026.

The top 10 ChatGPT plugins for presentations (November 2026)

NOXI scores highest on these six rules with 96 of 100, followed by Canva at 84 and Presentations.AI at 82. "(v)" in the scoring table marks a cell that rests on a cautious reading; its alternative total is in the sensitivity list.

#PluginScoreBest when
1NOXI96You want the whole deck built in the chat from a topic, a brief or an outline, an editable PowerPoint, PDF or HTML file back, and free monthly credits.
2Canva84You want a visual Canva design from a PDF or a prompt on Canva Free and will keep editing in Canva; its PPTX may look different in PowerPoint.
3Presentations.AI82You want an editable PowerPoint from a PDF, Word or PowerPoint file on the $0 Starter plan (200 credits, up to 20 slides).
4Gamma81You will keep shaping the deck with Gamma's agent or by hand, and a "Made by Gamma" badge on free exports is acceptable.
5Figma (Figma Slides)81Your team already designs in Figma and wants Figma Slides files from ChatGPT on any Figma plan, outside the EU.
6=Decktopus AI79You want the plugin pointed at the conversation you just had, and you will pay for export.
6=Agentic Slides by SlidesGPT79You refine slides in the chat and need editable PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote files on Pro (10 downloads a month).
8Prezi78You want Prezi's zooming format built from a topic or an uploaded PowerPoint or PDF; downloads need a paid plan.
9Plus AI76You already pay for Plus AI and want the same deck edited in place from ChatGPT; there is no free plan.
10SlideSpeak75A prompt-to-deck in the chat, finished in the SlideSpeak editor; editable .pptx download on Premium.

Just outside the ten: Pitch 74, Beautiful.ai 72 and Genspark AI Slides 70. ChatGPT's own Slides feature scores 76 on the same rules as a built-in reference row; it is not a plugin, so it sits outside the numbering.

Stacked bar chart of the top 10 ChatGPT plugins for presentations, weighted points out of 100 split by six criteria: NOXI 96, Canva 84, Presentations.AI 82, Gamma 81, Figma 81, Decktopus 79, SlidesGPT 79, Prezi 78, Plus AI 76, SlideSpeak 75, with ChatGPT Slides as a grey built-in reference bar at 76. Criteria: how it lives in ChatGPT 20, whole deck from the chat 20, editable PowerPoint 20, editing after creation 15, free use 15, research with sources 10.
Every plugin in the ten scores full marks for living in the directory; the gaps come from the PowerPoint file, editing, the free plan and research.

How we scored: rubric C, official pages only

Each plugin is rated 1 to 5 on six criteria; points = rating ÷ 5 × weight. Rubric C is new: it starts from the P1, P3 and P6 anchors of our AI presentation tools ranking and adds three criteria about the ChatGPT route itself.

Method Scored on documented capability from official vendor pages opened on 27 October 2026. Not a new hands-on test. Weighted score = rating ÷ 5 × weight; weights total 100. Where two official pages of one vendor disagree, the vendor's pricing or plan page decides; where an official page is silent, the lower anchor is used and the alternative total is printed as a sensitivity line. Ties are broken on the heaviest criterion, then the next criterion in the table's order. NOXI's cells come from its public ChatGPT listing, noxi.ai/connect and its product documentation, under the same rules.
CodeCriterion (weight)The rule, identical for every plugin
C1How it lives in ChatGPT (20)5 = a plugin (app) in ChatGPT's Plugin Directory, usable on ChatGPT's Free plan; 4 = in the directory, paid ChatGPT plans only (or Business and Enterprise only); 3 = a custom GPT; 2 = only as a connector or MCP server you add yourself, or through a third party such as Zapier; 1 = no documented ChatGPT route.
C2Whole deck from the chat (20)5 = a whole multi-slide deck from a prompt AND from a file or content you give in the chat; 4 = from a prompt only; 3 = fills one design, template or slide; 2 = diagrams or visuals only; 1 = not documented.
C3Editable PowerPoint out (20)The ranking's P1 anchors, applied to the file you can get from this route: 5 = an editable .pptx with real text boxes on the free plan with no badge; 4 = the same on paid plans only, or free with a badge; 3 = the vendor documents visible differences, substituted fonts or elements that become images; 2 = PDF or images only; 1 = no file export documented.
C4Editing after creation (15)5 = follow-up chat messages change the deck AND it opens in the vendor's full editor; 4 = one of the two; 3 = regenerate only; 1 = none documented.
C5Free use (15)The ranking's P6 anchors, applied to the vendor's own free plan used through ChatGPT: 5 = free generation and editable export, no card, no watermark, a stated monthly allowance; 4 = a badged export, a small one-time pool, or no stated allowance; 3 = free generation without PowerPoint export; 2 = time-limited trial only; 1 = no free use documented.
C6Research with sources (10)The ranking's P3 anchors, counting only research documented for this route: 5 = web research and the source appears on the slide; 4 = cited research, placement not stated; 3 = research documented without citations, or citations in the chat only; 2 = grounds on uploads, no sources shown; 1 = none documented. A vendor's editor-only research is a sensitivity line.

Three printed rules that decide the table

  • C1 is a directory-wide fact. ChatGPT's pricing page marks "Discover & use Plugins" on Free, Go, Plus and Pro, and OpenAI says "The plugin directory is available across ChatGPT plans." No listing states a plan requirement, so every listed plugin gets 5; per-plugin limits by plan, workspace, role and region apply to every row alike.
  • Scope. Custom GPTs are not scored (they retire on 11 December 2026). ChatGPT Slides is built in, so it is a reference row outside the numbering.
  • Selection. Every presentation maker returned by a signed-out directory search for "presentation" that has official help or pricing pages; Templafy, Pretty, Presenton and Julius were not scored. On 27 October 2026 we searched each of the 13 names in ChatGPT's Plugin Directory in a fresh, signed-out browser and opened every listing: all 13 are public, each with an Install plugin button.

Scoring table: every cell and its arithmetic

Every rating, then the arithmetic as Σ (rating × weight) ÷ 5. A 1 means "not documented on the pages we opened on 27 October 2026", not "can't".

*ChatGPT Slides is built in, not a plugin; C1 4 is the nearest anchor, because it needs a paid plan (Pro, Business or Enterprise).

Ties: Gamma and Figma both total 81 and are level on C1 to C3; Gamma scores 5 on C4 against Figma's 4, so Gamma is 4th and Figma 5th. Decktopus and SlidesGPT have identical cells and share 6th place.

Where the gaps come from

  • NOXI − Canva = 12: C3 +8 (an editable .pptx with no badge against Canva's note that a PPTX "may look different"), C6 +4 (research documented for the route against none). C1, C2, C4 and C5 are level. Check: 8 + 4 = 12 = 96 − 84. Canva ties NOXI on four of six rules.
  • Canva − Presentations.AI = 2: C3 −4, C4 +3 (chat edits and Canva's editor), C5 +3 (a stated monthly allowance against a one-time 200-credit pool). Check: −4 + 3 + 3 = 2.
  • Gamma = Figma = 81: Gamma gains 3 on C4 (chat edits plus its editor), Figma gains 3 on C5 (PowerPoint export ticked on the free Starter plan against Gamma's badged exports). Check: 3 − 3 = 0.

How sensitive the order is

Every reading that could move a total, as printed in the shared score file:

  • NOXI 100 if NOXI's source lines on slides with figures count for decks made through the plugin (C6 5); NOXI 98 if the example prompt on noxi.ai/connect asking for a deck "with sources" is read as cited research (C6 4).
  • NOXI 92 if "a topic, a brief or an outline" is read as prompt-only (C2 4). NOXI 92 if the plugin turned out to need a paid ChatGPT plan (C1 4); nothing on the listing or OpenAI's pages says so.
  • Canva 88 if Canva AI's web research in its editor counts (C6 3); Canva 78 if the pricing page's export row (PDF, JPG, PNG) is read as the full Free list (C5 3).
  • Presentations.AI 86 if "up-to-date research pulled in as you generate" counts (C6 3). Gamma 87 if its editor agent's ability to search the web and pull in citations counts after you save the gamma (C6 4).
  • Figma 77 if "limited support … using file uploads like images or PDFs" is not read as making a deck from a file (C2 4); 74 with that and C5 4; 84 if the listing's "create and edit" is read as in-chat editing (C4 5).
  • Decktopus 75 if its export article were not counted (C3 3); it would still sit above SlideSpeak on C2. We re-read it on 27 October: "A fully editable file", with export on Pro and Business.
  • Prezi 82 if Prezi states that its PPTX keeps editable text (C3 4).
  • Plus AI 64, out of the ten, with Pitch back in 10th place, if its directory listing were not public (C1 2: custom MCP only); we opened the listing signed out on 27 October 2026, so 76 stands. Plus AI 79 if its PowerPoint add-in counts as its "full editor" (C4 5).
  • Pitch 78 if "fills in variables from your data" counts as content you give in the chat (C2 5; variables need a plan that includes them).
  • Beautiful.ai 75 if its listing is preferred over its support article on in-chat editing (C4 5); 78 if its Enterprise-only online sources count (C6 4).
  • Genspark 66 if its web export's editability is not counted (C3 3); 79 if opening the result in its editor is assumed (C4 4); 78 if its verification marks apply to decks made in ChatGPT (C6 5).
  • ChatGPT Slides 72 if ChatGPT Work's "ask for its source" is not counted for Slides (C6 1).

Plugins or apps? What OpenAI changed on 9 July 2026

They are the same family under a new name: on 9 July 2026 OpenAI's release notes said "We're also replacing the App Directory with the Plugin Directory", and chatgpt.com/apps now opens chatgpt.com/plugins. In OpenAI's current help, "An app connects ChatGPT to a service", and "A plugin brings apps and skills together".

So a presentation plugin usually bundles one app (the connection to the vendor's account) and skills (instructions for ChatGPT). Older tutorials say connectors or "Apps & Connectors"; the menus now say Plugins. Lists from 2023 and 2024 that rank "plugins" or "GPTs" for presentations describe custom GPTs and an earlier generation of tools.

The route opened in stages. OpenAI introduced apps in ChatGPT on 6 October 2025 for Free, Go, Plus and Pro users "outside of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom", with Canva and Figma among the first apps. The app directory followed on 18 December 2025, Gamma's app went live on 6 March 2026, the Plugin Directory replaced the App Directory on 9 July 2026, Prezi announced its plugin on 9 October 2026, and ChatGPT Slides launched on 16 October 2026.

Timeline of ChatGPT's route for presentation plugins: 6 October 2025 apps launch in ChatGPT outside the EEA, Switzerland and the UK; 18 December 2025 the app directory opens; 6 March 2026 Gamma's ChatGPT app goes live; 9 July 2026 the Plugin Directory replaces the App Directory; 16 October 2026 ChatGPT Slides launches for Pro, Business and Enterprise; 11 December 2026 custom GPTs are scheduled to retire.
Fourteen months from the first apps to the GPT retirement date: a list written before 9 July 2026 uses the old names.

For the general mechanics of plugins, connectors and MCP across assistants, our guide to Claude connectors, ChatGPT plugins and MCP covers the protocol underneath.

Which ChatGPT plugins make a PowerPoint for free?

On the vendors' own pages, four of the ten give you a PowerPoint file from a free plan: NOXI (editable, no watermark), Presentations.AI (Starter), Canva (Canva Free; the PPTX may look different) and Figma (Starter; gradients become solid fills). Gamma's free export carries a badge; the other five need a paid plan to download.

Changes by follow-up message: documented for NOXI, Canva, Gamma, SlidesGPT, Prezi and Plus AI; in the vendor's editor for Presentations.AI, Figma, Decktopus and SlideSpeak. Free editable PowerPoint: NOXI and Presentations.AI; with a condition for Canva, Figma and Gamma; paid only for Decktopus, SlidesGPT, Prezi, Plus AI and SlideSpeak.
The free PowerPoint column splits the field: two plugins pass it outright, three with a condition, five only on paid plans.

ChatGPT plugins for students: the Free-plan reality

A student on ChatGPT Free can install any plugin in the directory, but the vendor's own free plan decides what comes back, as the table shows. Check how the allowance works too: Canva and NOXI reset monthly, while Gamma's 400 credits and SlideSpeak's 100 are one-time pools.

How to add and use a plugin in ChatGPT

To add a plugin, open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar, find the plugin, select Install plugin and, if it needs your account, Connect. In any chat you then mention it with @ or pick it from the + menu. OpenAI's help, checked on 27 October 2026, describes each step.

  • Find and install. "Go to Plugins on the sidebar on ChatGPT web, desktop, or mobile"; "Select Install plugin if shown"; then "select Connect for an app that requires account authorization".
  • Use it. "select a plugin directly with an @ mention, select + and enter its name"; ChatGPT may also use installed plugins "when they're relevant", and "may ask for approval before reading information or completing an action".
  • Manage it. "Open Settings > Plugins, and select the app or the plugin that includes it."

Why can't I see a plugin in ChatGPT?

OpenAI says each plugin "depends on your plan, workspace, role, region". Apps launched on 6 October 2025 "outside of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom", Figma's post limits its app to users "outside the EU", and we found no OpenAI page that lifts that limit. In Enterprise and Edu workspaces admins choose the plugins, and OpenAI notes that some apps "may be available only on desktop, web, or mobile." Our guide to making a PowerPoint in ChatGPT compares all six routes by plan.

NOXI (96): our pick for an editable PowerPoint from the chat

NOXI scores highest on these six rules with 96 of 100: full marks on five criteria and 3 on research with sources. It is our pick when the deck must come back from the chat as an editable PowerPoint, in English or right-to-left Arabic, at no cost.

1. NOXI 96 / 100

In ChatGPT (5). A public listing in the Plugin Directory with an Install plugin button. Whole deck (5, v). The listing says NOXI turns "a topic, a brief or an outline" into a complete designed deck. Editable PowerPoint (5). PDF, PowerPoint or HTML come back in the chat; the .pptx has real text boxes and embedded fonts, with no watermark. Editing (5). Change slides in plain words in the same chat, or open the deck in NOXI. Free (5). 1,000 credits a month. Research (3, v). Web research is documented for the route, citation placement is not. The launch details are in our NOXI ChatGPT plugin announcement.

Canva (84): visual designs on Canva Free

Canva scores 84, second of ten, and ties NOXI on four of six rules: it lives in the directory, builds a deck from a PDF or a prompt, edits by chat and in Canva's editor, and runs on Canva Free. It loses points on the PowerPoint file and on research for this route.

2. Canva 84 / 100

In ChatGPT (5). Canva's help calls it the Canva plugin in ChatGPT, open to every Canva account (Canva Help). Whole deck (5). The listing's example: "@Canva, upload this PDF and turn it into a presentation." PowerPoint (3). A PPTX "may look different" in PowerPoint (download file types). Editing (5). Edit tools in the chat, then "open it in Canva and continue editing." Free (5, v). 20 pooled AI uses a month on Canva Free. Research (1, v). None documented for the route.

Canva Pro is US$144 a year for one person, as canva.com/pricing showed to a US visitor on 27 October 2026. If the deck will be finished in PowerPoint, our guide to converting Canva to PowerPoint covers what changes in the file.

Presentations.AI (82) and Gamma (81): an editable file or Gamma's editor

Presentations.AI scores 82 on a free editable PowerPoint, and Gamma 81 on chat edits plus its own editor: the first hands back a better file on its $0 plan, the second keeps you editing in Gamma.

3. Presentations.AI 82 / 100

In ChatGPT (5) and whole deck (5). The listing: "upload a PDF, Word document, or PowerPoint file, and convert it". PowerPoint (4). "delivered as an editable PowerPoint file", with export ticked for Starter (pricing); no watermark rule is stated, so the cautious 4 applies. Editing (4). You edit on the platform (ChatGPT for presentations); chat edits are not documented. Free (4). One 200-credit pool. Research (1, v). Not documented for the route.

4. Gamma 81 / 100

In ChatGPT (5). "Gamma is available as an app inside ChatGPT." (Gamma). Whole deck (5). The listing's prompts include turning a technical report into an executive summary. PowerPoint (3). Its export help has a section on "Export Limitations and Visual Differences", plus the Free badge (Gamma Help). Editing (5). "keep shaping it with Gamma's agent or edit it by hand". Free (4). 400 one-time credits. Research (1, v). Not documented for the route.

Gamma Plus is $9 a seat a month, or $108 a seat billed annually; Pro is $18, or $216 billed annually.

Figma (81), Decktopus (79) and SlidesGPT (79): designers, conversations and downloads

Figma scores 81 because its plugin works on any Figma plan and Starter exports to PowerPoint; Decktopus and SlidesGPT tie at 79 with an editable file on paid plans and preview-only free use.

5. Figma (Figma Slides) 81 / 100

In ChatGPT (5) outside the EU (Figma blog). Whole deck (5, v). "limited support for generating Figma Slides content using file uploads like images or PDFs" (Figma Help). PowerPoint (3). Gradients become solid fills (export help). Editing (4, v). "open the file in Figma after it's generated". Free (5). Any plan; the pricing page ticks Starter for PowerPoint export. Research (1). None documented.

6=. Decktopus AI 79 / 100

In ChatGPT (5) and whole deck (5). "Point the App at the conversation you just had" (Decktopus blog, 8 October 2026). PowerPoint (4, v). "A fully editable file" you can open in PowerPoint, with export on Pro and Business plans (export help). Editing (4). In the Decktopus editor. Free (3). No export, watermarked slides (Decktopus Help). Research (1). None documented.

6=. Agentic Slides by SlidesGPT 79 / 100

In ChatGPT (5) and whole deck (5). The listing, by Lightstone GmbH: "Turn your PDFs into presentations". PowerPoint (4). Editable files on Pro (pricing). Editing (4). "Refine slide content in a chat-based conversation"; no full editor documented. Free (3). Preview only. Research (1). None documented.

Prezi (78), Plus AI (76) and SlideSpeak (75): formats, add-ins and prompt decks

Prezi scores 78 with full marks on editing, Plus AI 76 on in-place edits behind a paid plan, and SlideSpeak 75 with a prompt-only route and an editable .pptx on Premium.

8. Prezi 78 / 100

In ChatGPT (5). "Prezi is available as a plugin inside ChatGPT" (Prezi blog, 9 October 2026). Whole deck (5). From a topic, a PowerPoint or a PDF. PowerPoint (3, v). A PPTX download; editable text is not stated. Editing (5). "Revise in place: add, edit, reorder, or remove slides and switch themes." Free (3). Generation on Basic, downloads from Plus (pricing). Research (1). None documented.

9. Plus AI 76 / 100

In ChatGPT (5). A public listing in the Plugin Directory, by Plus Docs, Inc., opened signed out on 27 October 2026, and its site says "Works in ChatGPT and Claude" (Plus AI). Whole deck (5). "from a prompt or from a deck you already have". PowerPoint (4). Editable slides; "Requires a Pro, Team, or Max plan." Editing (4). It "edits the same deck in place". Free (2). Trial with a card (plans). Research (1). None documented.

10. SlideSpeak 75 / 100

In ChatGPT (5). "turns your prompt into a polished presentation without leaving ChatGPT". Whole deck (4). Prompt only. PowerPoint (4). "Download as editable .pptx file" on Premium (SlideSpeak). Editing (4). The SlideSpeak editor. Free (3). About 3 decks from 100 credits (pricing). Research (1). None documented.

Pitch (74), Beautiful.ai (72) and Genspark (70): just outside the ten

Three more presentation makers have plugins in the directory and score within five points of tenth place.

  • Pitch, 74. Install it from the directory (Pitch Help); "Every deck created with Pitch's MCP is fully editable". PowerPoint export is "a premium feature" where charts "may look different", and Free's 100 AI credits do not renew. 78 if filling template variables from your data counts as content.
  • Beautiful.ai, 72. Its support says the ChatGPT connector "does not provide full arbitrary slide-by-slide editing"; export is "available only on Pro, Team, and Enterprise", and "A free trial requires a credit card".
  • Genspark AI Slides, 70. "The exported files are fully editable", but "Exporting any format, requires a paid plan"; no edit route is documented for its ChatGPT plugin, which is the 1 on C4.

ChatGPT Slides vs a plugin: the built-in reference row

ChatGPT Slides scores 76 on the same rules, level with Plus AI, but it is not a plugin and it needs a paid plan: OpenAI says it is "available on ChatGPT Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans with Space access", and it is rolling out. A plugin works on ChatGPT Free and draws on the vendor's own free plan instead.

Slides launched on 16 October 2026. You can start from a conversation or "attach source files", edit an element with "select the element, then select Request edits", and on the web export to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides (OpenAI Help, ChatGPT Slides). On ChatGPT's pricing page, ChatGPT Space is not included on Free, Go or Plus; Plus costs $20 a month and Pro starts at $100. If you already pay for Pro, Business or Enterprise, try Slides first; on Free, Go or Plus, a plugin is the route to a full deck.

Is there a ChatGPT plugin for PowerPoint?

There are two directions, and searchers mix them up. A presentation plugin lives inside ChatGPT and hands back a deck or a file. ChatGPT for PowerPoint is the reverse: an add-in by OpenAI that runs inside PowerPoint and edits the open file, and OpenAI says "Free and Go include limited usage access" (OpenAI Help, ChatGPT for PowerPoint). Add-ins that work inside PowerPoint are ranked in our top 10 AI add-ins for PowerPoint.

Best GPT for presentations? Why this page scores no custom GPTs

No custom GPT is scored here because OpenAI says "Custom GPTs are scheduled to retire on Dec 11, 2026" (OpenAI Help, custom GPT retirement). A presentation GPT you adopt in November would stop working about six weeks later.

Several vendors that offered a presentation GPT now also have a plugin in the directory, so the same brand remains available under the new route: SlideSpeak, Beautiful.ai and SlidesGPT are examples. When a list recommends "the best GPT for presentations", check the vendor's own site for a plugin in ChatGPT's Plugin Directory, and use that instead.

What these rules don't measure

These six rules measure what each vendor documents for the ChatGPT route, not how good the deck looks or how fast it arrives, and several competitors lead on things the rubric leaves out.

  • Canva and Gamma: design range and templates, and the wider editors you continue in after the chat.
  • Brand kits and team review: brand controls and review workflows inside each vendor's own editor are not scored.
  • Prezi: its zooming, non-linear presentation format.
  • Pitch: presentation analytics.
  • Genspark: verification marks with reference links on each checked slide, inside its own editor.
  • Plus AI: add-ins that work inside the real PowerPoint and Google Slides files on one subscription.
  • Region and devices: availability in the EU, the UK and Switzerland (OpenAI launched apps outside those markets; Figma says its app is for users outside the EU), and how each plugin's card behaves on desktop, web or mobile, NOXI's included.
  • Not measured for anyone: output quality, design taste, speed, invented figures, accessibility, and comments or review workflows.

Worked example: one consultant, eight decks a month, two plugins

To turn the table into a decision, list what the decks must do, read each candidate's free-plan row, then price the alternatives for a year.

Example Leila Haddad (fictional) is a solo marketing consultant in Chicago. She already pays for ChatGPT Plus at $20 a month and sends 8 client decks a month; every client edits them in PowerPoint. She also makes 6 social one-pagers a month for her own marketing. Her three checks: the deck is built from her call notes in the chat, she can change it with a follow-up message, and the client receives an editable PowerPoint with no badge.

Step 1: read the three checks against the table

Canva passes the first two checks on Canva Free, but its PPTX "may look different" in PowerPoint, so it fails the third for client decks; its 20 AI uses a month are pooled across Canva's tools. Gamma passes the first two, but free exports carry the badge and the 400 credits don't refresh. ChatGPT Slides is not on Plus. The NOXI plugin passes all three on the documented cells.

Step 2: price the alternatives for a year

OptionArithmeticCost a yearWhat it adds for her job
NOXI plugin8 decks × 25 credits = 200 of 1,000 monthly credits (20%)$0Editable .pptx, PDF and HTML in the chat
Canva ProUS$144 a year, one person (US price, 27 October 2026)$144A larger AI allowance for her social one-pagers
Gamma Plus$9 a seat a month × 12, billed annually$108Removes the free plan's limits in Gamma
ChatGPT Pro (for Slides)($100 − $20) × 12 months$960 extraChatGPT Slides with export to PowerPoint
ChatGPT Plus (kept)12 × $20$240Already paid in every option

Leila's decision: the NOXI plugin for the 8 client decks, and the Canva plugin on Canva Free for her 6 social one-pagers, where a Canva design is the right output. Against paying for Canva Pro and Gamma Plus, she spends $144 + $108 = $252 a year less; against upgrading to Pro for Slides, $960 a year less. Her ChatGPT bill stays $240 a year. She reviews the setup on 1 February 2027, after the custom GPT retirement date.

The same method works for any team: replace her three checks with yours. For the wording of the request itself, see our ChatGPT prompts for presentations.

Here are three slides from the deck NOXI built for this article's worked example, unedited.

NOXI deck showcase: the cover of a consultant's plugin decision deck, a bar chart of ten ChatGPT plugins on six weighted rules (NOXI 96, Canva 84, Presentations.AI 82, Gamma 81) and the chosen setup: 8 decks × 25 credits = 200 of 1,000 credits for $0, against $144 + $108 = $252 a year not spent.

Key terms

Definition What is a ChatGPT plugin? A ChatGPT plugin is an add-on installed from ChatGPT's Plugin Directory that bundles one or more apps, which connect ChatGPT to an outside service such as a presentation maker, with skills that tell ChatGPT how to use them. Searchers and older guides also call them ChatGPT apps.
Definition What is the Plugin Directory? The Plugin Directory is ChatGPT's catalogue of plugins at chatgpt.com/plugins, opened from Plugins in the sidebar. It replaced the App Directory on 9 July 2026 and, per OpenAI, is available across ChatGPT plans, with per-plugin limits by plan, workspace, role and region.
Definition What is a custom GPT? A custom GPT is a version of ChatGPT configured with its own instructions, files and actions, often published by vendors as a "presentation GPT". OpenAI says custom GPTs are scheduled to retire on 11 December 2026.
Definition What is an editable PPTX export? An editable PPTX export is a PowerPoint file whose text sits in real text boxes you can change in PowerPoint, rather than flattened images. This ranking gives full marks only when the vendor documents it on the free plan with no badge.

Build it: make Leila's client deck with the NOXI plugin in ChatGPT

To make a NOXI deck inside ChatGPT, open Plugins in the sidebar, search for NOXI, select Install plugin, then Connect and sign in to NOXI, and ask @NOXI for the deck in any chat. Installing depends on your ChatGPT plan, workspace, role and region, in OpenAI's words.

Prompt 1 · A client deck from call notes

@NOXI create a [10]-slide presentation for [client name] on [their Q1 campaign plan] for [their marketing director]. Use these call notes: [paste notes]. Write every slide title as a full-sentence finding, put the budget on one slide with the arithmetic, and end with the decision and the owner.

Prompt 2 · A researched briefing in another language

@NOXI turn this brief into an [8]-slide deck in [Arabic] for [the regional sales team], with fresh web research and the source and year of every figure: [paste brief].

Prompt 3 · Change it in the same chat

@NOXI in my latest NOXI presentation, make slide [4] a timeline of [the launch dates], shorten every bullet to under [12] words, then export it as a PowerPoint file.

Step 1 — Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar

In ChatGPT, open Plugins in the sidebar. OpenAI says the directory is available across ChatGPT plans.

Step 2 — Search for NOXI and open the listing

Type NOXI in the directory search and open the result named NOXI, AI presentation maker, in the Creativity category.

Step 3 — Select Install plugin

Select Install plugin. If the button is not shown, ask your administrator: Enterprise and Edu admins choose which plugins members can use.

Step 4 — Connect and sign in to NOXI

Select Connect. A NOXI window opens: sign in to your NOXI account, or create a free one, and approve access. No API key or password goes into the chat.

Step 5 — Ask @NOXI for the deck

In any chat, type @NOXI, or select + and choose NOXI, then paste Prompt 1 with Leila's call notes. ChatGPT may ask you to approve the action before NOXI creates the deck.

Step 6 — Get the files back, or keep editing

The result comes back in the chat with slide previews and the files: PowerPoint (.pptx), PDF and HTML. Send Prompt 3 to change slides in the same chat, or open the deck in NOXI to edit, present or share. It uses your free NOXI credits: a deck is about 25 of 1,000 a month, and exports are free.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best ChatGPT plugin for presentations?
On six documented rules checked on 27 October 2026, NOXI scores highest with 96 of 100, followed by Canva at 84, Presentations.AI at 82, and Gamma and Figma at 81. The rules count the whole deck from the chat, an editable PowerPoint, editing, the free plan and research, not design taste.
Is there a ChatGPT plugin for PowerPoint?
Yes, in two directions. Plugins such as NOXI, Presentations.AI, SlidesGPT and SlideSpeak live inside ChatGPT and return a .pptx file on the plan each vendor states. ChatGPT for PowerPoint is the reverse: an OpenAI add-in that runs inside PowerPoint and edits the open file, with limited usage on Free and Go.
Can ChatGPT plugins make a PowerPoint for free?
Some can. On the vendors' own pages, NOXI and Presentations.AI document an editable PowerPoint on a free plan, Canva Free and Figma Starter export a PPTX with documented differences, and Gamma's free file carries a badge. Decktopus, SlidesGPT, Prezi, Plus AI and SlideSpeak need a paid plan to download.
How do I use Canva in ChatGPT?
Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar, find Canva, select Install plugin and connect your Canva account; Canva says it works for all accounts, including Canva Free. Then type @Canva and ask, for example, to turn an uploaded PDF into a presentation, and open the result in Canva to keep editing.
Does Gamma work inside ChatGPT?
Yes. Gamma's changelog dates its ChatGPT app to 6 March 2026, and Gamma says it is available as an app inside ChatGPT on all plans. Decks made in ChatGPT are tied to an anonymous session until you save them to a Gamma account, and free exports carry a "Made by Gamma" badge.
Are ChatGPT apps and plugins the same thing?
Almost. In OpenAI's words, an app connects ChatGPT to a service, and a plugin brings apps and skills together. On 9 July 2026 OpenAI replaced the App Directory with the Plugin Directory, so menus now say Plugins, while many guides and searchers still say apps or connectors.
Are custom GPTs going away?
Yes. OpenAI's help says custom GPTs are scheduled to retire on 11 December 2026, so a presentation GPT adopted now would stop working within weeks. Several presentation vendors that offered a GPT, such as SlideSpeak and Beautiful.ai, now have a plugin in ChatGPT's Plugin Directory; use that route instead.
Why can't I see a plugin in ChatGPT?
OpenAI says each plugin depends on your plan, workspace, role and region. Apps launched in October 2025 outside the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and Figma says its app is for users outside the EU. In Enterprise and Edu workspaces, admins choose which plugins members can install.
Does ChatGPT Slides need a paid plan?
Yes. OpenAI says Slides is available on ChatGPT Pro, Business and Enterprise plans with Space access, and it launched on 16 October 2026 while rolling out. ChatGPT Plus is $20 a month and Pro starts at $100. On Free, Go and Plus, a presentation plugin is the route to a full deck.
How do I use NOXI in ChatGPT?
Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar, search for NOXI, select Install plugin, then Connect and sign in to NOXI. In any chat, type @NOXI or choose it from the + menu and describe the deck. Previews and PowerPoint, PDF and HTML files come back in the chat, using your free NOXI credits.

Sources & methodology

Every page below was opened on 27 October 2026, without signing in to any vendor; every plugin listing was opened in a fresh, signed-out browser, without installing or connecting anything. Leila Haddad is a fictional example.

Check the three things on each plugin's own pages, a whole deck from your chat, changes by follow-up message and an editable PowerPoint on the free plan, then install the one that passes: NOXI is free and returns an editable PowerPoint in the chat.
