Disclosure: NOXI publishes this page and is one of the ten free plans scored. That is why the rules, the weights and every cell's source are printed, including the two rules where NOXI scores half marks. The first half of the page is about ChatGPT alone, from OpenAI's own pages.
Is ChatGPT free? Yes. OpenAI documents free use at chatgpt.com, and use without an account in supported countries. Free publishes one hard limit, three file uploads a day, and since 9 February 2026 ads may appear on Free, with a more limited ad-free option beside them. Checked 2 November 2026.
| The question people actually ask | What OpenAI's own page says | Where we read it |
|---|---|---|
| Does it cost anything? | "ChatGPT is free to use, and can now be accessed before creating an account at chatgpt.com." The Free column was served to us as "AED 0 / month" | Help centre [2]; pricing [1] |
| Do I need an account? | "ChatGPT can be used without an account in supported countries, including in Europe and the UK." | Help centre [2] |
| Is there a hard limit? | "Free users are limited to 3 file uploads per day." | Uploading files [3] |
| Are there ads? | "Ads may appear for users on the Free and Go plans." "Ad testing started in the United States on February 9, 2026." Beside them: "Choose a free, no-ads option with additional limits" | Ads in ChatGPT [4] |
| Can I get a PowerPoint out of it? | ChatGPT for PowerPoint is "available globally to Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, ChatGPT Edu, and K-12 users", with "limited usage access" on Free. It runs inside Microsoft PowerPoint | ChatGPT for PowerPoint [7] |
Every sentence there was read signed out on 2 November 2026, in a session whose header still offered "Log in" and "Sign up for free". Then, after the answer, nine other free plans on the same seven rules, so you can see what "free" costs on each.
Key numbers
None of the six is part of any score.
ChatGPT free limits, in OpenAI's own numbers
OpenAI publishes exactly one hard allowance for the free plan: "Free users are limited to 3 file uploads per day." Everything else on the Free card is an adjective [1][3].
What the ChatGPT free plan gives you, row by row
The Free column of the pricing card is a list of eight rows. Seven of the eight are relative words, and the only one with a figure of any kind has a footnote attached to it [1].
| Row on the Free card | Exactly as printed | Is it a number? |
|---|---|---|
| Text chat | "Unlimited text chats with GPT-6", with the footnote "Unlimited text chats subject to abuse guardrails." | No, and the footnote qualifies it |
| Uploads | "Limited messages with uploads" | Not on the card. The help centre gives it: three a day [3] |
| Images | "Limited image creation" | No, and no OpenAI page we opened prints a daily figure |
| Voice, deep research, memory | "Limited voice chats", "Limited deep research", "Limited memory and context" | No, three times |
| Codex and Work | "Limited Codex access", "Limited ChatGPT Work access on desktop" | No, twice more |
Read from the individual tab of chatgpt.com/pricing, signed out, 2 November 2026 at 14:49 local (UTC+04) [1].
We print no number of free images a day: OpenAI publishes none on any page we could open, and the older image-limits article now redirects into API documentation.
The upload rule, and what it means on a deadline
Three uploads a day is the limit most students hit first, and it is per day rather than per chat. The same page sets the per-file ceilings: documents and presentations up to 512 MB each, images 20 MB, text files capped at 2 million tokens. Paid plans move to "up to 80 files every 3 hours", and OpenAI "may lower these limits during peak hours" [3]. Sending a .pptx in is also a different thing from getting one out, which is what the file rule below measures.

The ads question, and the second free option
Ads are the change that makes the old answer to this question wrong: OpenAI states "Ads may appear for users on the Free and Go plans", with a start date of 9 February 2026 in the United States, and beside them a second free tier that is more limited [4]. We read that article twice on 2 November 2026, once when its stamp said five hours old and again when it said twenty one minutes old, and the three load-bearing sentences did not move between the two.
What the page says, in its own words [4]:
- Who sees them: "Ads may appear for users on the Free and Go plans." The Go card agrees: "This plan may include ads." [1]
- Who does not: "Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu accounts will not have ads."
- The alternative: "Choose a free, no-ads option with additional limits (fewer messages per day and no access to tools like images)". So there are two free tiers now, and the quieter one costs you messages and image tools.
- What advertisers get: "Advertisers do not have access to your chats, chat history, memories, or personal details", and "we never sell your data to advertisers."
- Who is excluded: accounts "identified as belonging to users under 18", and ads are "not eligible to appear near sensitive topics". Personalised ads are "not initially available in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland."
This is why ChatGPT scores 5 of 10 on the advertising rule rather than 0 or 10: ads are documented, and so is an ad-free way to stay at zero. The other nine plans document no advertising inside the product at all, so on this rule ChatGPT is the outlier rather than the norm. Grok is the row to read carefully: no x.ai page documents advertising inside Grok, which is why it takes the full ten, while x.ai/pricing sells "Less timeline ads" on Plus and "Ad-free scrolling on most surfaces" on Premium, so a free user still meets ads on X itself [32].
Does ChatGPT work without an account?
Yes, in supported countries, and it is one of the two rules where ChatGPT takes full marks and NOXI takes the middle band: "ChatGPT can be used without an account in supported countries, including in Europe and the UK" [2]. OpenAI does not publish that country list on the page, so "supported" is the operative word, and signing out does not switch off model training: the data controls article tells signed-out users to "open Settings and turn off Improve the model for everyone", per browser rather than per person [6].
Only two of the ten plans document use with no account at all. Microsoft is the other: "Microsoft Copilot is available at no cost at copilot.cloud.microsoft", and "Sign in isn't required, but signing in with your personal account gives you access to chat history" [26]. Google is partial, with "You can use some features in the Gemini web app, gemini.google.com, without signing in" [22], and Anthropic sends a signed-out visitor to a sign-in page, which is why Claude scores zero here while leading on files.
The two OpenAI pages that disagree about Free
Two OpenAI pages name two different models for the free plan, read three minutes apart, and both were current on 2 November 2026. The pricing card prints "Unlimited text chats with GPT-6", under its footnote "Unlimited text chats subject to abuse guardrails", and ticks GPT-6 Luna for Free [1]. The Free Tier FAQ, updated the previous day, prints "Free users have access to GPT-5.6 Luna." [5]
We print both and pick no winner, because OpenAI does not pin down in public which model a free chat reaches. On capability the FAQ is the better of the two: "Search the web and obtain up-to-date information", "Analyze and extract insights from your data", "Upload images or files in your prompts" [5].
ChatGPT free vs Plus: what the twenty dollars buys
Plus is $20 per month on OpenAI's own help centre, and the honest summary of the gap is that you are buying away the adjectives: the limited rows on the Free card, and the ads [4][10]. That figure comes from the student offer article, where OpenAI writes "the subscription renews at $20 per month unless you cancel." It is one of only three consumer prices we could confirm in US dollars on an OpenAI domain.
| What changes | Free | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Price we could confirm | AED 0 a month, as served to us [1] | "$20 per month", on the help centre [10]; AED 80 a month on the card served to us [1] |
| Ads | "Ads may appear" [4] | "Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu accounts will not have ads." [4] |
| File uploads | "3 file uploads per day" [3] | "up to 80 files every 3 hours" [3] |
| Deck inside the chat | No. "Slides is available on ChatGPT Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans with Space access." [8] | No, by the same sentence [8] |
| Billing | No billing | Monthly only: "we do not support annual billing or the option to pay for multiple months in advance for ChatGPT Go, Plus, or Pro" [9] |
Two details catch people out. The deck feature inside the chat is not on Plus at all, only on Pro, Business and Enterprise with Space access [8]. And Pro is named in US dollars on just one page we opened, as the row labels "Pro ($100/month)" and "Pro ($200/month)" in the voice article [11]. If the question is which paid tier rather than whether free is enough, our AI subscription comparison prices the ladder, and what AI presentation makers cost does the same for deck tools.
How we scored ten free plans
Ten plans were scored on seven printed rules worth 100 points, applied the same way to every row, on documented capability from official pages opened signed out on 2 November 2026. Not a new hands-on test, and no weight was moved to move any row.
| Code | Rule | Points | What a full mark needs |
|---|---|---|---|
| F1 | Free use of the main job, no card | 20 | 20 = free use documented, no card required, and a stated allowance · 10 = free with an unstated or relative allowance · 0 = trial only, or a paid plan required |
| F2 | A number, not an adjective | 15 | 15 = the vendor publishes at least one hard figure that quantifies the free tier's own allowance of the main job · 8 = one relative statement, such as "double the free limits" · 0 = only words like "limited" |
| F3 | Output you can keep as a file, on free | 20 | 20 = a file in a standard format, documented on the free plan, with no vendor branding · 10 = a file with branding, a tiny quota, or a separate licence needed to open it · 0 = no file export documented on free |
| F4 | Usable without signing in | 10 | 10 = documented use with no account · 5 = partial, or the page is silent on whether sign-in is required · 0 = an account is required, either stated by the vendor or observed as a sign-in wall on the product's own entry page, opened logged out today |
| F5 | No advertising on the free tier | 10 | 10 = no ads documented · 5 = ads documented with an ad-free option that is more limited · 0 = ads with no alternative |
| F6 | Data control on the free tier | 15 | 15 = the vendor states consumer content is not used to train models · 8 = a named opt-out that works on free, with training as the default · 0 = training is the documented default with no opt-out we could find, or data use is not documented at all on a page we could open |
| F7 | Where the free tier runs | 10 | 10 = web plus mobile plus one more surface · 5 = two surfaces · 0 = one. A web app used in a phone browser is one surface, not two |
Three of those wordings are tighter than they look, and each cost somebody points. F2 asks the figure to quantify the free tier's own allowance of the main job, because otherwise any vendor that prints a storage number anywhere scores 15. F4's zero band names how "an account is required" is established, because four vendors document nothing and only the entry page settles it. F7 says a phone browser is not a second surface, and that rule costs NOXI five points.
Ten free plans, scored
On the seven rules NOXI scores 90, Claude 83 and ChatGPT 78, and the top of the table turns on one thing: whether a free plan hands you a file you can keep. NOXI scores highest on these seven rules, and this is a free-plan ranking rather than an assistant ranking. If your question is which free assistant to chat with, the answer is ChatGPT or Claude, and our AI chatbot ranking is the page for it.
| # | Tool | Score | What its own pages document on free | Source, opened 2 November 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | NOXI | 90 | Free, no card, 1,000 credits a month; editable PowerPoint and PDF, no watermark; files not used to train models | noxi.ai 15:17 local; privacy policy [37][38] |
| 2 | Claude | 83 | "$0" and "Free for everyone"; free plan creates .xlsx, .pptx, .docx and PDF; training shown as "Opt-out" | claude.com/pricing 14:22 and support.claude.com 15:32 [12][13][14][15] |
| 3 | ChatGPT | 78 | Free use, and without an account in supported countries; three uploads a day; ads, with an ad-free alternative | chatgpt.com/pricing and five help articles, 14:49 to 14:58 [1][2][3][4][7] |
| 4 | Gamma | 68 | "400 credits when initially signing up" that "do not refresh"; exports carry a "Made by Gamma" badge until a paid plan | help.gamma.app, four articles, 15:25 to 15:38 [16][17][18][19] |
| 5 | Google Gemini | 68 | "$0/ month with a Google Account"; "32k tokens" without an AI plan; no file format named on free | gemini.google/subscriptions 15:22 and support.google.com [20][21][22][23] |
| 6 | Perplexity | 68 | "Standard (Free)" with "3/day" Pro Searches; the same table marks "File and App Creation" as "No" | perplexity.ai help centre, 15:20 and 15:30 [24][25] |
| 7 | Microsoft Copilot | 65 | "available at no cost" and "Sign in isn't required"; file contents "aren't used to train foundation models" | support.microsoft.com, 15:18 and 15:30 [26][27][28] |
| 8 | Canva | 53 | "Limited access to Standard and Premium AI tools" and "short pauses between generations", with no number | canva.com/help and /policies, 14:52 to 15:40 [29][30][31] |
| 9 | Grok | 53 | "Free" at "$0" "/month" with "Limited" "AI usage"; the Office add-in announced as free; training on by default | x.ai/pricing 15:05 and x.ai/legal/faq 15:11 [32][33][34] |
| 10 | DeepSeek | 15 | The home page does not say whether the chat is free, the chat redirects to sign-in, and Search calls started costing money | deepseek.com/en 15:16; api-docs 09:22 UTC [35] |
Scored on documented capability, not a new hands-on test. Every page in the Source column was opened signed out. Times are local, UTC+04, unless UTC is named.

Every cell, and the arithmetic
| # | Tool | F1 (20) | F2 (15) | F3 (20) | F4 (10) | F5 (10) | F6 (15) | F7 (10) | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | NOXI | 20 | 15 | 20 | 5 | 10 | 15 | 5 | 90 |
| 2 | Claude | 20 | 15 | 20 | 0 | 10 | 8 | 10 | 83 |
| 3 | ChatGPT | 20 | 15 | 10 | 10 | 5 | 8 | 10 | 78 |
| 4 | Gamma | 20 | 15 | 10 | 0 | 10 | 8 | 5 | 68 |
| 5 | Google Gemini | 20 | 15 | 0 | 5 | 10 | 8 | 10 | 68 |
| 6 | Perplexity | 20 | 15 | 0 | 5 | 10 | 8 | 10 | 68 |
| 7 | Microsoft Copilot | 10 | 0 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 15 | 10 | 65 |
| 8 | Canva | 10 | 0 | 10 | 5 | 10 | 8 | 10 | 53 |
| 9 | Grok | 10 | 0 | 10 | 5 | 10 | 8 | 10 | 53 |
| 10 | DeepSeek | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 10 | 0 | 5 | 15 |
The sums, written out so you can check them: NOXI 20 + 15 + 20 + 5 + 10 + 15 + 5 = 90 · Claude 20 + 15 + 20 + 0 + 10 + 8 + 10 = 83 · ChatGPT 20 + 15 + 10 + 10 + 5 + 8 + 10 = 78 · Gamma 20 + 15 + 10 + 0 + 10 + 8 + 5 = 68 · Google Gemini and Perplexity 20 + 15 + 0 + 5 + 10 + 8 + 10 = 68 each · Microsoft Copilot 10 + 0 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 15 + 10 = 65 · Canva and Grok 10 + 0 + 10 + 5 + 10 + 8 + 10 = 53 each · DeepSeek 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 10 + 0 + 5 = 15.
Which rule decided each tie
- Three plans tie at 68. Gamma takes fourth on F3: its free plan exports PDF, PNG and PowerPoint with the "Made by Gamma" badge [17], while Gemini names no file format on free [20] and Perplexity's plan table marks "File and App Creation" as "No" for Standard (Free) [24].
- Gemini against Perplexity is identical in all seven cells, so the chain runs level through F3, F2, F6, F7 and F4 and alphabetical order decided it. Canva against Grok at 53 is identical too, and went the same way.
The gaps, explained
NOXI 90 minus Claude 83 = 7. NOXI is ahead by 7 on F6, because its policy states files are not used to train models while Anthropic documents a setting, and by 5 on F4, because claude.ai sends a logged-out visitor to a sign-in page. Claude is ahead by 5 on F7, with desktop and phone apps. 7 + 5 minus 5 = 7.
Claude 83 minus ChatGPT 78 = 5, and the file rule is the whole story: Claude's free plan creates ".xlsx", ".pptx", ".docx" and PDF for every user [13], while ChatGPT's only free route to a .pptx runs inside Microsoft PowerPoint [7]. Claude gains 10 on F3 and 5 on F5 and gives back 10 on F4.
Google Gemini 68 minus Microsoft Copilot 65 = 3, the closest pair on the board, and they are opposites: Google publishes a number and Microsoft publishes a promise. Google takes F1 by 10 and F2 by 15; Microsoft takes F3 by 10, F4 by 5 and F6 by 7. 25 minus 22 = 3. And NOXI 90 minus ChatGPT 78 = 12: ahead by 10 on F3, 5 on F5 and 7 on F6, behind by 5 on F4 and 5 on F7.
Where NOXI lands, and the two cells where it scores half
NOXI finishes first on 90 of 100, with full marks on five of the seven rules: free use with a stated allowance (F1), a published figure rather than an adjective (F2), a file you can keep (F3), no advertising (F5), and a policy that your content is not used to train models (F6) [37]. The allowance is the figure: 1,000 credits a month, about 25 for a deck.
- F4 = 5. A deck from a prompt works signed out only up to a free limit, after which a free account is needed, and uploading a file needs that account too [37]. ChatGPT and Microsoft document use with no account at all, so they take 10 and NOXI takes the middle band.
- F7 = 5. NOXI runs in two places: the web app, on a desktop or in a phone browser, and inside assistants through the one connector address on noxi.ai/connect [38]. It ships as a web app rather than an installed desktop or phone app, and under F7 a web app used on a phone is one surface and not two, which is how DeepSeek and Gamma were read on the same rule. On a phone the route is to edit by AI chat in your phone's browser.
That second cell moved during verification, from 10 to 5, and it is printed because the rule is the rule: Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft and Google all take 10 on F7 with apps you install [13][26].
What happens if you weight the rules differently
Four readings, all printed, because a ranking that survives only one set of weights is not worth citing.
| Reading | Order it produces | What moves |
|---|---|---|
| Equal weights, each rule normalised to its maximum | NOXI 0.857, Claude 0.790, ChatGPT 0.790, Google Gemini 0.719, Perplexity 0.719, Microsoft Copilot 0.714, Gamma 0.648, Canva 0.576, Grok 0.576, DeepSeek 0.214 | Claude and ChatGPT tie behind NOXI, and Gamma falls from fourth to seventh |
| Without F3, out of 80 | NOXI 70, ChatGPT 68, Google Gemini 68, Perplexity 68, Claude 63, Gamma 58, Microsoft Copilot 55, Canva 43, Grok 43, DeepSeek 15 | ChatGPT second, Claude fifth. The honest reading if you only want to chat |
| Without F1, out of 80 | NOXI 70, Claude 63, ChatGPT 58, Microsoft Copilot 55, Gamma 48, Google Gemini 48, Perplexity 48, Canva 43, Grok 43, DeepSeek 15 | Microsoft Copilot rises to fourth, and the 68 tie becomes a tie at 48 |
| F1 read strictly, so an unstated allowance scores 0 | NOXI 90, Claude 83, ChatGPT 78, Gamma 68, Google Gemini 68, Perplexity 68, Microsoft Copilot 55, Canva 43, Grok 43, DeepSeek 15 | The top six do not move. Only the bottom four lose points |
Gamma has the widest spread of any row across these readings, fourth, seventh and fourth, so treat its place as unsettled. Only two plans document an unbranded standard file on free, NOXI and Claude, and that fact decides the top three places. The two in the middle band say why in their own words: Gamma's exports carry the "Made by Gamma" badge until a paid plan [17], and Canva writes that "Premium elements will have watermarks on your design if you're a Canva Free user" [30].

Who should pick what
Six jobs, six routes, each with the documented fact that puts it there. Five of the six are not ours.
- To ask questions and pay nothing → ChatGPT, which documents free use and use "without an account in supported countries", with web, iOS and Android ticked for Free [1][2].
- To get a file out of a free chat → Claude, whose free plan creates ".xlsx", ".pptx", ".docx" and PDF, "available to all Claude users (Free, Pro, Max, Ultra, Team, and Enterprise)" [13].
- For the biggest documented free context window → Google Gemini, which publishes "32k tokens" without an AI plan [21].
- To start with no sign-in at all → Microsoft Copilot, "available at no cost at copilot.cloud.microsoft", where "Sign in isn't required" [26]; our Copilot and Gemini comparison covers that plan, and ten free PowerPoint routes the Office side.
- If the free output must be unbranded, check the badge first → Gamma gives "400 credits when initially signing up" that "do not refresh", and removes its badge only on a paid plan [16][17].
- For an editable .pptx with no card → NOXI, free on 1,000 credits a month, about 25 for a deck, no watermark [37].
The quotable version: ChatGPT is free, including without an account in supported countries, and since 9 February 2026 the Free and Go plans may carry ads with a more limited ad-free option beside them; the one hard limit OpenAI publishes for Free is three file uploads a day; and on seven printed free-plan rules NOXI scores 90 of 100, Claude 83 and ChatGPT 78, checked 2 November 2026.
Free in your country, and the currency your screen shows
The price you see is not the price this page can print, because chatgpt.com/pricing was served to us in dirhams while its own footer region selector read "United States". That is why every ChatGPT figure here carries its currency and its time.
Is ChatGPT free in the UAE?
Free is free there: the card we were served read "AED 0 / month", with Go at "AED 30", Plus at "AED 80" and Pro "From AED 385" [1]. Those are the figures the page printed, and we do not convert them. OpenAI's explanation is quotable: "All purchases are in USD - we offer a local currency billing in a limited set of countries" [9], and its multi-currency billing article lists AED among the currencies it bills in.
Is ChatGPT free in India?
The free plan is a plan, not a country offer, and no OpenAI page we opened names a mobile operator bundle anywhere. If one exists it is documented by the carrier, so we print none. What did move is the cheapest paid tier: the Go article was edited an hour before we read it and now says "ChatGPT Go is now available in all ChatGPT supported countries" [9].
Why your screen and this page disagree
Four vendors served a currency we could not safely label: Gemini and Grok printed a bare dollar sign with no currency code, DeepSeek names no currency, and Canva served US dollars by default and dirhams with a country parameter [20][29][32][35]. Where a page refused us we print nothing: gamma.app/pricing returned 403 on five attempts across 1 and 2 November 2026 and perplexity.ai/pricing returned 404 twice [36].

What these rules don't measure
Seven rules about free plans are not seven rules about quality, and most of what people mean by "best free AI" scores nothing.
- Not measured for anyone: answer quality, writing, reasoning, coding, speed, throttling in practice, enterprise controls, and regional availability beyond what the vendor states.
- ChatGPT: the widest free surface in the field, use with no account, web, iOS and Android on Free, and a plugin directory open "across ChatGPT plans"; our ChatGPT plugins ranking scores twelve of them.
- Claude and Microsoft: four standard file formats on a free plan [13], and the strongest data sentence in the field, "Prompts, responses, and your file contents when using the Microsoft Copilot app aren't used to train foundation models" [27].
- Canva, Gemini and Perplexity: a design library and a download list no deck tool matches [30], plus research behaviour and citation style, which these rules ignore entirely.
- Where others lead NOXI: Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft and Google all ship desktop or phone apps, and two let you start with no account. NOXI runs in the browser on a desktop or a phone, where you edit by AI chat.
For a written document rather than a deck, our best AI for reports ranking scores the same vendors on a different question, and does ChatGPT train on your data goes deeper on the data rule.
What changed recently
Five dated movements on vendor pages in the two days before publication.
| Date on the page | What moved | Whose page | Read on |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 November 2026 | Search and Fetch calls stopped being free: "$0.75" per 1,000 successful requests from "00:00 Beijing time on November 1, 2026" | api-docs.deepseek.com [35] | 2 November, 09:22 UTC |
| Between 1 and 2 November 2026 | The dedicated free-plan help article was retired: one URL now 301s to a target that 404s, and the Usage and limits collection lists none. The pricing page documents the free plan instead | support.claude.com [12][14] | 2 November, 14:22 local |
| 1 November 2026 | The Free Tier FAQ now names a different model for Free than the pricing card does. Both were live when we read them three minutes apart | help.openai.com and chatgpt.com/pricing [1][5] | 2 November, 14:49 and 14:54 |
| 2 November 2026 | The ads article was edited twice in one day, stamped five hours old at 09:31 UTC and twenty one minutes old at 10:54 UTC. The sentences we quote did not change | help.openai.com, ads in ChatGPT [4] | 2 November, twice |
| 2 November 2026 | The privacy policy carries today's date, "November 02, 2026", and prints the training control: "You can manage the use of your data for training AI to improve our Service" | canva.com/policies [31] | 2 November, 15:40 local |
One more, as a refusal rather than a verdict: x.ai/pricing and two x.ai legal pages returned 403 to a fetcher between 09:14 and 09:23 UTC, then opened normally in a browser between 15:05 and 15:11 local the same day. Grok's row rests on the pages that opened [32][33].
What would change this ranking
Three things could move the top of this table, and each one is a named page you can check yourself.
- 1. OpenAI removes ads from Free. The page to watch is the ads article at help.openai.com/en/articles/20001047 [4]. If "Ads may appear for users on the Free and Go plans" goes, F5 moves from 5 to 10 and ChatGPT reaches 83, level with Claude, where the printed chain hands second place to Claude on F3. We re-check on 1 December 2026.
- 2. Anthropic states a training position for consumer chats. The pages to watch are claude.com/pricing, which marks Free "Model training: Opt-out", and the Model Improvement article at privacy.claude.com, dated March 16, 2026, which frames the same thing as a choice to allow [12][15]. A plain statement that consumer chats are not used for training moves F6 from 8 to 15 and Claude to 90, level with NOXI, and Claude then takes the tie on F7, where it has apps and we have a browser. We re-check on 1 December 2026.
- 3. Perplexity's plan table stops reading "No". The page to watch is the plan comparison at perplexity.ai/help-center/en/articles/11187416, where "File and App Creation" is "No" for Standard (Free) [24]. If that cell changes, F3 moves from 0 to 10 or 20, Perplexity reaches 78 or 88, and the three way tie at 68 disappears. We re-check on 1 December 2026.
Each trigger names the page, the cell it moves and the date we look again.
Worked example: no card, one deadline, five days of uploads
A student with fourteen source files and no card meets the daily upload limit before he meets his deadline.
Step 1: the reading, on the free plan
His free account allows "3 file uploads per day" [3]. 14 ÷ 3 = 4.67, so the files take 5 days, more days than he has. What rescues him is what the rules reward: a published number, so he can plan around the limit instead of discovering it.
Step 2: the deck, and the four routes
| Route | Open to him? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Slides inside the chat | No | "Slides is available on ChatGPT Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans with Space access." [8] |
| ChatGPT for PowerPoint | No, in his case | It reaches Free with "limited usage access", but it "lives in a sidebar inside Microsoft PowerPoint", which his laptop lacks [7] |
| Upgrade to Plus | No | "renews at $20 per month unless you cancel", so 12 × $20 = $240 a year, and he has no card [10] |
| A free plan that exports .pptx | Yes | Two rows document an unbranded standard file on free, and one of them makes decks [13][37] |
Step 3: the arithmetic of the free deck
He builds it on NOXI's free allowance: 1,000 credits a month and about 25 for a deck, so one deck is 25 ÷ 1,000 = 2.5% of the month and the allowance covers 1,000 ÷ 25 = 40 decks before it resets [37]. He downloads an editable PowerPoint with no watermark and opens it on a university machine on Friday. His own conclusion: $240 a year is worth paying only once his files arrive faster than three a day, and he reviews that on 1 December 2026.
Where NOXI fits in a free-plan question
NOXI fits one job in this field: a researched deck that arrives as an editable PowerPoint with no watermark, on a free allowance of 1,000 credits a month and no card [37]. That is why it scores highest on these seven rules, and it is a narrow result rather than a broad one. For chatting, reading, coding or research, the rows above it in any sensitivity reading are the better answer.
Describe your topic and NOXI builds the full deck; you can review the outline first or generate straight away. From a prompt it researches the topic on the web first, and slides that carry figures get a source line [37]. You can also upload a PDF, Word document, Excel or CSV file, PowerPoint or image, up to 200 MB a file, on a free account, then ask the AI to change one slide or the whole deck in plain language, in English or Arabic.
Download it as an editable PowerPoint (.pptx), free and with no watermark: NOXI's own export engine writes real text boxes and embeds the fonts, Arabic included. Export a PDF, present full-screen, share a view-only or edit link, or invite people by email to edit together in real time with version history. Your presentations, prompts and files are not used to train AI models [37], and one address, mcp.noxi.ai/mcp, connects NOXI to the assistants you already use [38].
Build it: a deck from a prompt, with research on
This flow starts from a prompt rather than a file, so NOXI researches the topic first and figure slides carry a source line. Six steps, on a free account.
Step 1 · Open noxi.ai and create a free account
Exports need an account. No card is needed, and each one gets 1,000 credits a month, reset on the first, with a deck costing about 25.
Step 2 · Describe the deck in one request
On NOXI Home, type what you want, for example "a 12-slide briefing on free AI plans for a university seminar, with one chart comparing what each plan documents".
Step 3 · Choose Instant, or review the outline first
Instant goes straight to slides. Plan shows the outline before anything is drawn, so you can fix titles and slide count while it is cheap.
Step 4 · Let the research run
Because the deck started from a prompt, NOXI researches the topic on the web first and puts a source line on slides that show figures.
Step 5 · Edit by chat
Ask for one slide or the whole deck to change, for example "turn slide 5 into a chart of the seven rules", or click an element and say what you want instead.
Step 6 · Download, present or share
Download an editable PowerPoint (.pptx) with real text boxes and embedded fonts, or a PDF, free and with no watermark. Or present full-screen, or send a share link.
Is ChatGPT free? FAQ
- Is ChatGPT free?
- Yes. OpenAI's help centre says "ChatGPT is free to use, and can now be accessed before creating an account at chatgpt.com", and the pricing card prices Free at zero, checked 2 November 2026. Two conditions sit beside that: ads may appear, and the plan allows three file uploads a day.
- Is ChatGPT free to use without an account?
- In supported countries, yes: "ChatGPT can be used without an account in supported countries, including in Europe and the UK", checked 2 November 2026. OpenAI does not publish that country list. Signing out does not stop training, and the data controls article tells signed-out users to turn off "Improve the model for everyone" per browser.
- Is ChatGPT free for teachers?
- There is a free teacher plan with an end date. The pricing page says "We offer ChatGPT for Teachers, a free plan for verified U.S. K-12 educators through June 2027", read 2 November 2026. Teachers outside that group use the ordinary free plan: free use, three uploads a day, and ads.
- Does ChatGPT cost money?
- Only if you want more than Free gives. The free plan costs nothing and needs no card, checked 2 November 2026. Plus renews at "$20 per month" on OpenAI's own help page, and OpenAI states it does "not support annual billing" on Go, Plus or Pro, so paid tiers run month by month.
- How much is ChatGPT?
- The pricing page we were served on 2 November 2026 printed AED 0 for Free, AED 30 for Go, AED 80 for Plus and "From AED 385" for Pro, while its region selector read "United States". In US dollars, OpenAI's help pages name Plus at "$20 per month" and label two Pro tiers at $100 and $200.
- Does the ChatGPT free plan show ads?
- Yes, in some regions. OpenAI's ads article says "Ads may appear for users on the Free and Go plans" and that "Ad testing started in the United States on February 9, 2026", read 2 November 2026. It also offers "a free, no-ads option with additional limits (fewer messages per day and no access to tools like images)".
- How many files can I upload on the ChatGPT free plan?
- Three a day. "Free users are limited to 3 file uploads per day", per OpenAI's upload help page, checked 2 November 2026. It is a daily limit rather than a per-chat one, paid plans move to "up to 80 files every 3 hours", and documents are capped at 512 MB each.
- Is there a message limit on the ChatGPT free plan?
- OpenAI publishes no number for messages. The Free card reads "Unlimited text chats with GPT-6" with the footnote "Unlimited text chats subject to abuse guardrails", and the table adds "Usage must be reasonable and comply with our policies", read 2 November 2026. The ad-free option has "fewer messages per day".
- Which free AI gives me a file I can keep?
- Two of the ten plans we scored document an unbranded standard file on free: Claude creates ".xlsx", ".pptx", ".docx" and PDF for all users, and NOXI exports editable PowerPoint and PDF with no watermark on 1,000 credits a month. Gamma exports with a badge until you pay. Checked 2 November 2026.
- Why does ChatGPT show me a different price than this page?
- Because the pricing page is geo-routed. It served us dirhams on 2 November 2026 while its footer region selector read "United States". OpenAI explains it this way: "All purchases are in USD - we offer a local currency billing in a limited set of countries", and its help centre lists AED among those currencies.
