Google Slides alternatives, a NOXI blog cover: ten alternatives to Google Slides scored on seven printed rules, including co-editing, comments and moving your decks

Disclosure: NOXI publishes this page and is one of the tools scored. That's why the rules, weights and the source of every cell are printed, along with where NOXI loses points.

Quick answer: Google Slides alternatives, scored on seven printed rules on 29 October 2026: NOXI and Microsoft PowerPoint tie at 91 of 100, and one printed tie-break rule (research with sources, 5 against 3) lists NOXI first. Gamma follows with 87 and Canva with 85. Google Slides itself scores 87, so only two alternatives total more.

Google Slides is free, and its live editing and comments are hard to give up. So this ranking scores what a switcher asks: does the alternative keep co-editing and comments, open your decks, and add something Google Slides doesn't give you free?

Google Slides alternatives: the top 10 at a glance

On seven documented criteria checked on 29 October 2026, NOXI and PowerPoint score 91, Gamma 87 and Canva 85; Google Slides, scored as a reference row, totals 87.

The tie at the top. NOXI and PowerPoint both total 91. Our printed tie rule compares the heaviest criterion first, then the next in table order: export is 5 and 5, AI editing is 5 and 5, and research with sources is 5 against 3, so NOXI is listed first. One rule decides it, and a different reading of the free-plan clause separates them by nine points (see "How sensitive the order is").

Stacked bar chart of weighted points out of 100 for ten Google Slides alternatives, with Google Slides' 87 as a dashed reference line: NOXI 91, Microsoft PowerPoint 91, Gamma 87, Canva 85, ONLYOFFICE 81, Apple Keynote 79, Presentations.AI 78, Zoho Show 74, Adobe Express 72 and Beautiful.ai 71. Each bar is split into PPTX export, AI editing, research, import, free plan, co-editing and comments, and moving in from Google Slides.
Only NOXI and PowerPoint total more than Google Slides' 87 on these rules; Gamma ties it and the other seven score less.

Who should pick what

Each line rests on one documented fact.

  • If you need the native PowerPoint file with free live editing and comments → PowerPoint for the web, because the free web app lets you "collaborate online in real time" [1].
  • If you need AI that builds the whole deck, with sources on data slides and a free editable .pptx → NOXI, because it documents all three free, with 1,000 credits a month and no card [13].
  • If you need to move existing Google Slides decks in one step → Canva, because its help says "You can now import your Google Slides presentations easily to Canva for editing" [3].
  • If you need fast AI drafts and a route back to Google Slides → Gamma, because it accepts a pasted Google Slides link, and its Free plan lists "Export to PDF, PPTX, PNG & Google Slides", which its help routes through a PPTX upload [4].
  • If you need self-hosting with live co-editing → ONLYOFFICE, because it documents "Real-time and paragraph-locked co-editing" and comments on a free tier [5].
  • If you work on Apple devices and want no subscription → Keynote, because Apple says creating, viewing and editing presentations "does not require a subscription" [6].

How we scored: seven rules for leaving Google Slides

Each tool is rated 1 to 5 on seven criteria, weighted to 100. The first five criteria use the anchors of our AI presentation tools ranking; two new ones score what Google Slides users rely on: real-time co-editing with comments, and moving decks in from Google Slides.

Scope rule. "Alternatives" are presentation editors you can use instead of Google Slides, on the web or the desktop. Chat assistants and in-file add-ins are not ranked here.

Method Scored on documented capability from official vendor pages opened on 29 October 2026. Not a new hands-on test. Weighted score = rating ÷ 5 × weight; weights total 100. Where two official pages of one vendor disagree, the vendor's pricing/plan page decides; where an official page is silent, the lower anchor is used and the alternative total is printed as a sensitivity line. Ties are broken on the heaviest criterion, then the next criterion in the table's order. NOXI's cells come from its product documentation.
CodeCriterion (weight)The rule, identical for every tool
G1Editable PowerPoint export (20)5 = editable .pptx free with no badge, or the tool edits the native file; 4 = paid only, or badged; 3 = documented differences or editability not stated; 2 = PDF or images; 1 = none.
G2AI editing depth (15)5 = four AI levels (whole deck, one slide, one element, your template as style); 4 = three; 3 = two; 2 = one; 1 = no AI.
G3Research with sources (10)5 = web research with the source on the slide; 4 = cited, placement not stated; 3 = research or citations in a chat or panel; 2 = uploads only; 1 = none.
G4Import (10)5 = PDF, Word, Excel or CSV, PowerPoint and images with a stated limit; 4 = four, or five without a limit; 3 = two or three; 2 = one; 1 = text only.
G5Free plan reality (15)5 = free AI generation and editable export, no card or watermark, stated monthly allowance; 4 = badge, one-time pool or no stated allowance; 3 = no PowerPoint export; 2 = trial; 1 = none. A free tier with no vendor AI: 5 = free editing and editable .pptx, no card, no watermark.
G6Real-time co-editing and comments (15)5 = both on the free plan; 4 = both paid only, or free co-editing without comments; 3 = paid co-editing without comments, or comments only; 2 = view link only; 1 = single user.
G7Moving in from Google Slides (15)5 = imports a Google Slides file or link, or exports to Google Slides natively; 4 = .pptx with no stated loss; 3 = .pptx with documented losses, or used as source for a rebuilt design; 2 = PDF or images; 1 = none.

Two readings applied the same way to every row

Presentation apps edit the native file. PowerPoint, Keynote, Zoho Show, ONLYOFFICE and LibreOffice open and save .pptx, so each earns G1 5; vendors' conversion caveats become sensitivity lines. The free-tier clause. A free tier with no vendor AI (PowerPoint for the web, Keynote, ONLYOFFICE, Google Slides, LibreOffice) is scored on free editing plus an editable .pptx, which is why PowerPoint earns G5 5.

Google Slides as a reference row. G7 cannot apply to Google Slides itself, so its total is rescaled over the 85 points of weight it can earn: 370 of 425 is 87.1, printed as 87 (89 if G7 were set to 5).

Just below the ten: Figma Slides 68, Pitch 67, Prezi 65, Visme 64 and LibreOffice Impress 60. Pitch's PowerPoint export is "a premium feature" [12].

Where the gaps come from

  • NOXI − PowerPoint = 0 points: research +4 and import +2 for NOXI; co-editing and comments −3 and moving in −3. Check: 4 + 2 − 3 − 3 = 0.
  • NOXI − Gamma = 4 points: export +8, research +2, free plan +3; co-editing and comments −3, moving in −6. Check: 8 + 2 + 3 − 3 − 6 = 4.
  • Who leads NOXI where: PowerPoint, Gamma, Canva and five more score 5 on co-editing and comments; Gamma, Canva and Beautiful.ai score 5 on moving in, and PowerPoint, ONLYOFFICE and Keynote 4.

How sensitive the order is

  • NOXI 85 for a deck brought in from Google Slides as a file: web research and source lines are off by default for attached files (G3 = 2), which puts NOXI level with Canva on 85, behind PowerPoint and Gamma, and listed ahead of Canva on export (5 against 3). The build-it flow below attaches a file, so 85 is its number. NOXI 94 if its rebuilt design were read as a .pptx import with no stated loss (G7 = 4).
  • Policy B: if the free-tier clause covered only tools with no AI at all, every other row would use the AI free-plan anchors. Then PowerPoint scores 82 (Copilot as a one-month trial, G5 = 2), Keynote 70, ONLYOFFICE 78 and Google Slides 76.5 rescaled; LibreOffice is unchanged. Under Policy B, NOXI's 91 is first alone, then Gamma 87, Canva 85 and PowerPoint 82.
  • Gamma 84 if a pasted Slides link is not a direct import (G7 = 4), or if its commenting line does not cover the free plan (G6 = 4).
  • Presentations.AI 81 (G7 = 4: .pptx input with no stated loss), 75 (G6 = 4: its FAQ over its pricing table) or 82 (G1 = 5: a badge-free free export stated).
  • ONLYOFFICE 84 (G2 = 4), 77 (G3 = 1) or 79 (G4 = 1). Keynote 82 (G2 = 4), 75 (G3 = 1, if App Store release notes are not counted), 81 (G4 = 2) or 76 (G7 = 3).
  • Zoho Show 66 (G1 = 3: export editability unstated), 77 (G2 = 5: "matches your current master layout" read as your template) or 72 (G4 = 1). Its compatibility page lists partly supported features, so G7 takes the lower reading.
  • Below the ten: LibreOffice 52 (G1 = 3, its help says converted files "require some degree of manual reformatting"), Prezi 69 (an editable PPTX documented), Figma Slides 65 (help pages preferred over pricing).

Under Policy B, PowerPoint moves from a share of first place to fourth.

When to stay with Google Slides

Stay with Google Slides if free collaboration is the job: it scores 87 rescaled, above seven of the ten alternatives, with full marks on the file, the free plan and co-editing with comments.

  • Free. "Anyone with a Google Account can create in Slides" [2]. For the full price picture of Google Slides against PowerPoint, see our Google Slides vs PowerPoint comparison.
  • Live editing and comments. Google's product page promises to "Stay in sync with live editing and comments" [2], and both are on the free plan.
  • Offline and imports. You can "Access, create, and edit Slides even without an internet connection", and import PowerPoint or Canva presentations [2].
  • Gemini on paid plans. Gemini in Slides can "generate fully editable presentations", and Google states that the feature "requires an eligible Google Workspace or Google AI plan" [2]. Our guide to AI for Google Slides covers Gemini and the add-ons.

Adding AI without leaving Google Slides

Add-ons work inside your Slides file instead of replacing it. MagicSlides and SlidesAI both run in Google Slides; our MagicSlides review scores the two on the ranking's rules. For ready-made designs, Slidesgo offers templates for Google Slides alongside an AI maker; see our Slidesgo AI review for its free plan and attribution rule.

Free Google Slides alternatives: what each free plan really gives

PowerPoint for the web, Keynote and LibreOffice are free editors with no AI (table below); the tools here add AI on a free plan, each with a different allowance.

Google Slides alternatives without a Google account

PowerPoint for the web needs a Microsoft account, and Keynote runs on Apple devices and on "a PC with iCloud.com" with an Apple Account [1] [6]. LibreOffice Impress is desktop software that needs no account at all [11].

Google Slides alternatives with no login

Every web editor here needs an account to save work; LibreOffice runs without one. NOXI lets signed-out visitors generate a few decks; uploads and downloads need a free account, no card [13].

Google Slides alternatives with no AI: plain editors that keep collaboration

If you want to design slides by hand, PowerPoint for the web, Keynote, Zoho Show and LibreOffice Impress are free editors you can use with no AI, and all but LibreOffice offer real-time co-editing and comments. This table is not scored.

ONLYOFFICE is not an AI-free editor: its AI assistant connects to OpenAI, Mistral or "your own local AI models", which you can leave unconfigured [5]. LibreOffice's site calls it a "Free and private office suite, no forced AI" [11].

Definition Open-source office suite is a set of office applications, such as a word processor, spreadsheet and presentation editor, whose source code is published under an open licence, so anyone can use, inspect and self-host it. LibreOffice and ONLYOFFICE's editors are examples; both open and save PowerPoint files.

Open-source Google Slides alternatives

LibreOffice Impress is free, open source and offline; ONLYOFFICE can be self-hosted with real-time co-editing. LibreOffice scores 60 (below the ten): no AI, and no real-time co-editing in the desktop suite. Our PowerPoint alternatives guide covers both suites in more depth.

Co-editing, comments and moving in: what each alternative keeps

Eight of the ten alternatives document both real-time co-editing and comments on a free plan, matching Google Slides; NOXI documents free real-time co-editing, and Beautiful.ai offers both on paid plans.

Matrix of Google Slides and ten alternatives on three questions: real-time co-editing, comments and moving in from Google Slides. Google Slides, PowerPoint, Gamma, Canva, ONLYOFFICE, Keynote, Presentations.AI, Zoho Show and Adobe Express have free co-editing and comments; NOXI has free co-editing; Beautiful.ai has both on paid plans. Canva imports Google Slides directly, Gamma takes a Slides link and Beautiful.ai exports to Slides on Pro; the others use a .pptx, with partial features, documented losses or a rebuilt design.
Collaboration is where Google Slides sets a high bar: check co-editing, comments and the import route before you switch.
Definition Real-time co-editing means several people edit the same file at the same time and see each other's changes as they happen, without sending versions back and forth. Comments are a separate feature: threaded notes attached to a slide or an object, which reviewers can reply to and resolve.

NOXI: our pick for AI-built decks you can open as editable PowerPoint

NOXI is our pick when a Google Slides team needs AI that builds the whole deck and a free editable .pptx: it scores 5 on five of the seven rules, 4 on co-editing and comments, and 3 on moving in.

1. NOXI 91 / 100

Export (5). An editable .pptx with real text boxes and embedded fonts, or a PDF; free, no watermark. AI editing (5). Change one slide or the whole deck in plain language, click any element and say what to change, or use Match reference to follow an uploaded deck's style. Research (5). Decks started from a prompt are researched on the web first, and slides with figures carry a source line; with an attached file, research is off by default (85). Import (5). PDF, Word, Excel or CSV, PowerPoint and images, up to 200 MB per file. Free plan (5). 1,000 credits a month, a deck uses about 25, no card. Co-editing and comments (4). Invite people by email or link as viewers or editors, edit together in real time and restore earlier versions; comment threads are not part of NOXI, so teams that review by comment keep that step in Google Slides. Moving in (3, v). NOXI takes the .pptx you download from Google Slides; Beautify my deck keeps every slide's content, slide count and order and rebuilds the design.

Best when: decks must arrive as editable PowerPoint files, built by AI from your brief or rebuilt from a deck you already have.

NOXI is also published in ChatGPT's plugin directory: install it from Plugins, connect your NOXI account and ask with @NOXI; the deck comes back in the chat with preview images and files. Our NOXI ChatGPT plugin announcement has the steps. OpenAI says installing a plugin "depends on your plan, workspace, role, region" [14].

Definition Editable PPTX export means the downloaded PowerPoint file holds real text boxes, shapes and images you can change in PowerPoint, not pictures of slides. Only the vendor's own page can state it; a .pptx whose vendor warns of differences, or says nothing about editability, scores 3 here.

Microsoft PowerPoint: the free web app, with Copilot as the paid layer

PowerPoint scores 91, level with NOXI: the free web app earns full marks on the file, the free plan and co-editing with comments, and Copilot adds AI for subscribers.

2. Microsoft PowerPoint 91 / 100

Export (5). The native .pptx; Copilot "generates or edits content directly within PowerPoint" [1]. AI editing (5). A range of slides ("Update slides 4-6 for a UK audience"), one image ("Make the image on this slide photorealistic") and a Brand Kit. Research (3). "Copilot's response cites the sources it uses", in the response rather than on the slide. Import (4). A Word file, a PDF with a work account, and an image attached when creating a presentation. Free plan (5). The web app is free with a Microsoft account; Copilot needs a subscription, with a one-month trial. Co-editing and comments (5). "collaborate online in real time from any device", with comments and @mentions. Moving in (4). Opens the .pptx Google Slides downloads, with no stated loss.

Best when: the deck must be a PowerPoint file and your team wants Google-style collaboration for free. Microsoft 365 Personal with Copilot is $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.

Is PowerPoint online free?

Yes. Microsoft offers "free access to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint using Microsoft 365 for the web" with a Microsoft account [1], including live co-editing and comments; Copilot comes with eligible Microsoft 365 subscriptions.

Gamma and Canva: AI-first editors that import Google Slides

Gamma (87) and Canva (85) score full marks on co-editing with comments and on moving in from Google Slides; both lose points on the PowerPoint file.

3. Gamma 87 / 100

Export (3). On Free, a "'Made by Gamma' badge appears on PDF and PPTX exports", and the help lists fallback styles [4]. AI editing (5). "edit at any level, from your whole gamma down to a single element". Research (4). It can "pull in citations"; placement not stated. Import (5). ".pptx and .potx", Word and PDF, Excel and CSV, images, "up to 250 MB". Free plan (4). "Each new Free user receives 400 credits when initially signing up", and they don't refresh. Co-editing and comments (5). "collaborate in real time", with commenting; Free plans share by invite link (updated 29 October 2026). Moving in (5). Paste a view-only Google Slides link into the prompt box; the Free plan lists export to Google Slides, which the help describes as a PPTX upload.

Best when: you want fast AI drafts of decks, documents and web pages, and a badge on free exports is acceptable. Plus is $9 a seat a month billed annually ($108 a year) or $12 billed monthly.

4. Canva 85 / 100

Export (3). Designs downloaded as PPTX "may look different when opened in Microsoft Powerpoint" [3]. AI editing (4). Three of the four AI levels, including "refining your whole design" and applying a Brand Kit. Research (3). "Use Web Research for richer, up-to-date results". Import (5). .pptx and .docx up to 300 MB, PDF up to 300 MB and 500 pages, Excel and CSV up to 100 MB, images under 50 MB. Free plan (5). "Up to 20 uses of Standard AI tools, or Premium AI tools", reset monthly. Co-editing and comments (5). Real-time collaboration and comments on Free. Moving in (5). "You can now import your Google Slides presentations easily to Canva for editing."

Best when: decks are one part of a wider design workload with social, video and print. Pro is US$144 a year for one person, as shown to a US visitor.

Definition Google Slides import means a tool reads a Google Slides presentation directly, from a link or a connected Google account, instead of a downloaded .pptx. Canva documents a direct import and Gamma accepts a view-only Slides link; most other tools take the .pptx you download from Google Slides.

ONLYOFFICE, Keynote and Zoho Show: office suites that keep co-editing

ONLYOFFICE (81), Keynote (79) and Zoho Show (74) are full editors with free real-time co-editing and comments; they lose points on AI depth, research and imports.

5. ONLYOFFICE 81 / 100

Export (5). ONLYOFFICE says its slides editor is "built around a native PPTX engine" [5]. AI editing (3, v). "Generate slide content and presentation outlines" and "Rewrite, shorten, or expand slide content", through your own AI provider. Research (3). AI "with support for custom providers, MCP, and web search", no citations stated. Import (2, v). "Turn documents into ready-to-present slides"; file types not stated. Free plan (5). Free desktop apps and a free cloud Startup plan. Co-editing and comments (5). "Real-time and paragraph-locked co-editing" and "Comments and mentions for team feedback". Moving in (4). Opens .pptx with no stated loss.

Best when: you want self-hosting, Linux desktop apps or an AI provider you choose. Business is $20 per admin a month.

6. Apple Keynote 79 / 100

Export (5). Keynote presentations "can be opened and edited by Microsoft PowerPoint in .pptx format" [6]. AI editing (3, v). With Apple Creator Studio you can "generate a new presentation or add slides". Research (3, v). App Store notes describe web search for slides (US English, beta). Import (1, v). No deck-from-file feature documented. Free plan (5). Editing "does not require a subscription"; the AI is "available exclusively to Apple Creator Studio subscribers" (Apple, 29 September 2026). Co-editing and comments (5). "collaborate with others in real time by sharing a link", with comments. Moving in (4). "You can open and edit Microsoft PowerPoint presentations".

Best when: your team works on Apple devices and wants a free editor with live collaboration. Apple Creator Studio is $12.99 a month or $129 a year, with one month free.

8. Zoho Show 74 / 100

Export (5). "PPTX, PPSX, HTML, ODP, PDF - you name it" [8]. AI editing (4). Zia "generates a complete presentation" and edits selected text blocks. Research (1). No web research documented. Import (2, v). Zia pulls key points from uploaded content; file types not stated. Free plan (4). "Free for individuals", with Zia "not behind a paywall" and no stated allowance. Co-editing and comments (5). "real-time collaboration, contextual commenting" on Free. Moving in (3). Its compatibility page lists PowerPoint features as partially supported or not supported.

Best when: you want a free browser editor with AI included, apps for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android, and Zoho suite integration. Paid plans start at AED 9 a user a month billed annually (UAE view).

Google Slides vs Keynote, and Zoho Show vs Google Slides

On the six rules both can score, Google Slides earns 74 of 85 points, Keynote 67 and Zoho Show 65. All three are free with co-editing and comments; Google Slides leads Keynote on AI editing (+3) and import (+4), and leads Zoho Show on research (+4), import (+2) and its free plan (+3).

Presentations.AI, Adobe Express and Beautiful.ai

Presentations.AI (78), Adobe Express (72) and Beautiful.ai (71) are AI-led makers; the first two document free co-editing and comments, Beautiful.ai only paid ones.

7. Presentations.AI 78 / 100

Export (4). The pricing table ticks "PowerPoint / PDF Export" on Starter, while the FAQ says paid plans unlock it [7]. AI editing (4). Edit text, images and layout, "modify charts and shapes", plus Brand Sync. Research (3). "up-to-date research pulled in as you generate", no citations. Import (4). A PDF, Word document, Excel sheet or URL. Free plan (4). Starter "$0" with "200 credits". Co-editing and comments (5). "Edit the same deck with your team at the same time. Leave comments", with Starter "Up to 5 guests". Moving in (3, v). An existing PowerPoint file is used as source content for a new deck.

Moving your decks out of Google Slides

To move a Google Slides deck, choose File, then Download, then Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx) [2], and open or import that file in the new tool; Canva and Gamma can skip the file.

  1. Download. Save the .pptx, plus a PDF as a visual reference.
  2. Check fonts. Google Fonts used in the deck may not be installed where the file opens; install them or swap them before editing. Our guide to embedding fonts in PowerPoint covers the fixes.
  3. Check media. Open every slide with video, audio or animation; Adobe documents what to do when those "don't come through during import" [9], and Pitch lists fonts, videos and animations among unsupported items [12].
  4. Import. Canva imports Google Slides directly [3] and Gamma takes a view-only Slides link [4]; the other editors open or import the .pptx; NOXI takes it through Beautify my deck or Create from file.
  5. Rebuild if needed. If an import drifts, rebuild in the new tool's layouts instead of repairing every slide.

What these rules don't measure

These rules don't measure Classroom and Drive integration, offline work, self-hosting, power features or privacy, and several alternatives lead NOXI on those.

  • Google Slides: Google Classroom and Drive integration, offline editing, and a tool most students and colleagues already use.
  • PowerPoint: the standard file format with no conversion at all, and desktop power features such as Morph, SmartArt and VBA macros.
  • ONLYOFFICE: self-hosting, desktop apps on Linux, and an AI provider you choose, including local models.
  • LibreOffice: fully open source and offline, with no account and no AI pushed on users.
  • Keynote: animations, themes and Apple-device integration, free on every Apple device.
  • Zoho Show, Gamma and Canva: Zoho's broadcast mode and Android TV app; Gamma's web pages and analytics; Canva's asset library and visual suite.

Not measured for anyone: output quality, design taste, accessibility, speed and privacy terms.

Worked example: a six-person studio adds AI without leaving Google Slides

Example Tomás Rivera, the fictional owner of Rivera Landscape Studio, six people in Austin, runs the team on free Google accounts, so Gemini in Slides is not included. Clients want editable PowerPoint files, the team reviews by comment, and they deliver about eight decks a month. US prices as shown on 29 October 2026.

OptionYearly costArithmetic
A. Six Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot seats$1,6926 × $23.50 a user a month × 12, paid yearly
B. Six Gamma Plus seats$6486 × $108, billed annually
C. Six Canva Pro plans$8646 × US$144
D. Google Slides + NOXI$08 decks × 25 credits = 200 credits a month

Check: 6 × 23.50 × 12 = 1,692; 6 × 108 = 648; 6 × 144 = 864. Option D uses 200 credits a month, a fifth of one free account's 1,000.

His decision: option D. Drafts and redesigns happen in NOXI, the editable .pptx goes back into Google Drive, and review continues in Google Slides comments. The studio avoids $648 to $1,692 a year and reviews the split on 1 March 2027. With attached decks, web research is off by default, so every figure comes from the team's brief.

Horizontal bar chart of one year's cost for a fictional six-person studio: six Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot seats $1,692, six Canva Pro plans $864, six Gamma Plus seats $648, and Google Slides plus NOXI $0, the chosen option, using 8 decks × 25 credits a month.
Adding NOXI next to Google Slides gives the studio AI decks and editable PowerPoint files without a $648 to $1,692 yearly bill.

Build it: redesign a Google Slides deck with Beautify my deck

If you like a Google Slides deck's content but not its look, Beautify my deck rebuilds the design and returns an editable PowerPoint that opens in Google Slides again.

Prompt 1 · Beautify brief

Beautify the attached [client proposal] deck. Keep every slide's content, slide order and number exactly as they are. Use [deep green and sand] as the palette, one headline style throughout, and a clean grid for the [project photos].

Prompt 2 · Fix one slide

On slide [5], turn the three paragraphs into three numbered cards, keep each card under [25] words, and highlight the [budget figure] in the accent colour.

Prompt 3 · Whole-deck pass

Across all slides, make the headline sizes consistent, align every image to the same grid, and keep every number exactly as it is in the original deck.

Step 1 — Download the deck from Google Slides

In Google Slides choose File, then Download, then Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx).

Step 2 — Choose Beautify my deck

Open noxi.ai, create a free account (no card needed) and choose Beautify my deck on Home.

Step 3 — Attach the file and add a brief

Attach the .pptx and add a short brief on palette and style, as in Prompt 1.

Step 4 — Watch the deck being rebuilt

NOXI keeps every slide's content, slide count and order, facts and numbers, and improves layout, hierarchy, typography, spacing, colour and imagery. Watch each slide being built.

Step 5 — Edit together

Ask the AI to change one slide or the whole deck, or click any element and say what to change, as in Prompts 2 and 3; invite your team by email to edit together in real time.

Step 6 — Download and go back to Google Slides

Download an editable PowerPoint (.pptx) with real text boxes and embedded fonts and upload it to Google Drive to open in Google Slides, or download a PDF.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best Google Slides alternatives?
On seven printed rules checked on 29 October 2026, NOXI and Microsoft PowerPoint tie at 91, with NOXI listed first on the research-with-sources tie-break; Gamma scores 87, Canva 85 and ONLYOFFICE 81. Google Slides itself scores 87. For free live editing in a PowerPoint file, use PowerPoint for the web.
Are there free Google Slides alternatives?
Yes. PowerPoint for the web, Keynote, ONLYOFFICE, Zoho Show and LibreOffice Impress are free editors that save .pptx, checked on 29 October 2026. For AI on a free plan, NOXI gives 1,000 credits a month with no card or watermark, Canva 20 AI uses a month, and Gamma 400 one-time credits.
Are there Google Slides alternatives without AI?
Yes. PowerPoint for the web, Apple Keynote and Zoho Show can all be used with no AI and offer real-time co-editing and comments on their free tiers, as documented on 29 October 2026. LibreOffice Impress calls itself a "Free and private office suite, no forced AI", but has no real-time co-editing.
Is PowerPoint online free?
Yes. Microsoft offers free access to Word, Excel and PowerPoint for the web with a Microsoft account, with real-time co-editing and comments, checked on 29 October 2026. Copilot is not included; Microsoft 365 Personal costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year. PowerPoint scores 91 of 100 on our seven rules.
Is Keynote free?
Yes. Apple says creating, viewing and editing Keynote presentations, including real-time collaboration, does not require a subscription, checked on 29 October 2026. Keynote's AI deck features need Apple Creator Studio at $12.99 a month or $129 a year. Keynote scores 79 of 100 here and runs on Apple devices and iCloud.com.
Is Zoho Show free?
Yes. Zoho's pricing page lists Zoho Show as "Free for individuals", with real-time collaboration, contextual commenting and Zia AI included, checked on 29 October 2026. It scores 74 of 100 on our rules, losing points on web research and on PowerPoint features its compatibility page lists as partially supported.
Which Google Slides alternatives import Google Slides directly?
Canva documents a direct import of Google Slides presentations, and Gamma accepts a view-only Google Slides link pasted into its prompt box, as checked on 29 October 2026. Beautiful.ai exports editable decks to Google Slides on Pro and higher. Most other tools, NOXI included, take the .pptx you download from Google Slides.
Can I use LibreOffice instead of Google Slides?
Yes, if you work alone or offline. LibreOffice Impress is free, open source and saves .pptx, but its desktop suite has no real-time co-editing, and its help says converted files "require some degree of manual reformatting". It scores 60 of 100 on our seven rules, checked on 29 October 2026, below the top ten.
Can I make presentations without a Google account?
Yes. PowerPoint for the web works with a Microsoft account, Keynote with an Apple Account on Apple devices or iCloud.com, and LibreOffice Impress needs no account at all, as checked on 29 October 2026. Google Slides itself needs a Google Account: Google says anyone with one can create in Slides.
Can NOXI replace Google Slides?
For building decks, yes: NOXI ties with PowerPoint at 91 of 100 on our seven rules (29 October 2026), listed first on the research tie-break, with AI decks, sources on data slides and a free editable .pptx. Many teams keep both: NOXI for drafts and redesigns, Google Slides for comment threads and Drive.
