Which AI can make a PowerPoint, a NOXI blog cover. Ask your chatbot, get a PowerPoint: twelve AI chatbots scored on seven printed rules from official pages

Disclosure: NOXI publishes this page and appears in it as a reference row, scored on the same rules as every chatbot. That's why the rules, weights and the source of every cell are printed, along with the rules where chatbots lead NOXI.

Which AI can make a PowerPoint? On seven printed rules checked on 29 October 2026, ChatGPT scores 90 of 100, Kimi 88, Claude 87, Copilot 83 and Grok 82: each documents a whole deck and a PowerPoint you can edit. Perplexity's .pptx is paid, Gemini exports Google Slides or PDF, and DeepSeek, Qwen and Meta AI document no PowerPoint file.

Every chatbot can talk about slides now. Fewer hand you a PowerPoint file you can open and change, and that depends on your plan. We opened each assistant's own help, pricing and announcement pages on 29 October 2026 and scored twelve on seven printed rules.

Which AI can make a PowerPoint? 12 chatbots ranked (November 2026)

ChatGPT leads the twelve with 90 points, two ahead of Kimi (88) and three ahead of Claude (87); Copilot in PowerPoint (83) and Grok (82) complete the top five, each documenting a whole deck and an editable PowerPoint route. The bottom four, Meta AI, Z.ai, Qwen and DeepSeek, document no editable .pptx at all.

refNOXI98A deck maker you can use inside ChatGPT as a plugin and in Claude as a custom connectorFree, no card, no watermark

NOXI sits outside the numbering because it is a dedicated deck maker, not a chat assistant; it is printed because people use it through two of these chatbots. Two agents built mainly for slides, Genspark (89) and Manus (75), are scored on the same rules in our ranking of AI agents for slides.

Stacked bar chart of twelve AI chatbots scored on seven rules out of 100: ChatGPT 90, Kimi 88, Claude 87, Copilot in PowerPoint 83, Grok 82, Perplexity 67, Gemini app 66, Mistral Vibe 66, Meta AI 49, Z.ai 46, Qwen Chat 41, DeepSeek 34, with NOXI as a dashed reference bar at 98. Segments show editable PPTX 20, editing depth 20, research with sources 15, import 15, languages including right-to-left 10, free plan 10 and where it runs 10.
The top five are separated by eight points; the gap to sixth place is fifteen, and it opens on the PowerPoint file and the free plan.

Who should pick what

Where you already work matters more than the total. Each line rests on one fact from the vendor's own page, checked on 29 October 2026.

  • If you already work in PowerPoint on Microsoft 365 → Copilot in PowerPoint, because Microsoft says it "generates or edits content directly within PowerPoint", including your Brand Kit.
  • If you want a free deck you can export as PowerPoint → Claude, because Anthropic lists Slides on the Free plan and decks "export to PowerPoint and PDF, or go straight to Google Slides".
  • If you need the sources printed on the slides → Kimi, because its slides page promises "on-slide citations you can trace"; it is the only one of the twelve with full marks for research with sources.
  • If you live in ChatGPT → the ChatGPT for PowerPoint add-in, because OpenAI makes it available to every plan from Free (with limited usage) and says it keeps an "editable slide structure".
  • If your team works in Google Slides → the Gemini app, because Google ticks "Slide generation" without a paid plan and Canvas exports straight to Slides.
  • If your chatbot is DeepSeek, Qwen or Meta AI → add a deck maker such as NOXI, inside ChatGPT as a plugin or Claude as a custom connector, because its reference row takes full marks for an editable .pptx on a free plan with no watermark.

User counts are each company's own statements; dates and prices are from vendors' pages opened on 29 October 2026.

How we scored: seven rules, official pages only

Each chatbot is rated 1 to 5 on the seven criteria of rubric P and points = rating ÷ 5 × weight. We re-applied the rules of our AI presentation tools ranking on 29 October 2026; the numbers on this page are this page's own.

Method Scored on documented capability from official vendor pages opened on 29 October 2026. Not a new hands-on test. Weighted score = rating ÷ 5 × weight; weights total 100. Where two official pages of one vendor disagree, the vendor's pricing or plan page decides; where an official page is silent, the lower anchor is used and the alternative total is printed as a sensitivity line. Ties are broken on the heaviest criterion, then the next criterion in the table's order. NOXI's cells come from its product documentation, its public ChatGPT plugin listing and noxi.ai/connect, under the same rules.
CodeCriterion (weight)The rule, identical for every chatbot
P1Editable PPTX export (20)5 = an editable .pptx with real text boxes documented on the free plan with no badge, or the tool edits the native PowerPoint or Google Slides file; 4 = the same on paid plans only, or free with a badge; 3 = the vendor documents visible differences or elements as images, or editability is not stated; 2 = PDF or images only, or a third-party step; 1 = no file export documented.
P2Editing depth (20)5 = four AI levels documented: whole deck, one slide, one selected element, and your own template or brand as the style (plus manual editing); 4 = three levels; 3 = two; 2 = one AI level plus manual editing; 1 = only regeneration or only manual.
P3Research with sources (15)5 = web research and the source appears on the slide; 4 = cited research, placement not stated; 3 = research, or citations placed in the chat, the answer or a plan only; 2 = grounds on uploads, no sources; 1 = none.
P4Import (15)5 = PDF, Word, Excel or CSV, PowerPoint and images all accepted, with a stated size limit; 4 = four of five, or all five with no limit; 3 = two or three types; 2 = one; 1 = text only.
P5Languages incl. RTL (10)5 = right-to-left layout documented; 4 = a language list naming Arabic; 3 = "many languages" without a list; 2 = no list; 1 = English only.
P6Free plan reality (10)5 = free generation and editable export, no card, no watermark, a stated monthly allowance; 4 = free generation with a badged export, a small one-time pool, or no stated allowance; 3 = free deck generation without PowerPoint export; 2 = time-limited trial only; 1 = no free deck use documented.
P7Where it runs (10)5 = web, inside PowerPoint or Google Slides, and an API, MCP server or connectors; 4 = web plus one of those; 3 = web plus desktop or mobile apps; 2 = web only or a single host app.

Four readings, applied to every row

  • Editing the native file counts as an export. A vendor's own PowerPoint add-in or Google Slides add-on earns P1 5 (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Grok). Unstated editability is P1 3 (Mistral Vibe); a free plan silent on a badge is P1 4 (Kimi, Gemini app).
  • The free plan must make a deck. A free chatbot with no documented deck feature gets P6 1 (DeepSeek, Qwen), and so does a plan page that marks slides or file creation unavailable on Free (Mistral Vibe, Perplexity).
  • Citations in the chat are not citations on slides. Where a vendor places citations in the chat, the answer or a pre-build plan, P3 is 3 (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Mistral Vibe).
  • Any connector counts on P7. MCP, an API, connected apps or a ChatGPT plugin count the same. In-app menus are not official pages, for any vendor.

Scope. General AI chat assistants people already use, plus Kimi and Z.ai, whose chat apps have slide modes. NOXI is a deck maker, so it is a reference row outside the numbering.

Scoring table: every cell and its arithmetic

Every rating, then the arithmetic as Σ (rating × weight) ÷ 5. "(v)" marks a cell that rests on a cautious reading; its alternative total is in the sensitivity list below. A 1 means "not documented on the pages we opened on 29 October 2026", not "can't".

Tie: the Gemini app and Mistral Vibe both total 66. The printed tie-break looks at P1 first, where the Gemini app scores 4 against Mistral's 3, so the Gemini app is 7th and Mistral Vibe 8th.

Where the gaps come from

  • ChatGPT − Kimi = 2: P1 +4, P5 +2, P7 +2, P3 −6. Check: 4 + 2 + 2 − 6 = 2.
  • Kimi − Claude = 1: P1 −4, P3 +6, P4 +3, P5 −2, P7 −2. Check: −4 + 6 + 3 − 2 − 2 = 1.
  • Claude − Copilot = 4: all from P6, Claude's Free plan (4) against Microsoft's one-month trial (2).
  • Copilot − Grok = 1: P2 +4, P5 +2, P4 −3, P6 −2. Check: 4 + 2 − 3 − 2 = 1.
  • NOXI (reference) − ChatGPT = 8: P3 +6, P5 +2, P6 +2, P7 −2. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and Grok lead NOXI on P7, because they work inside PowerPoint itself; NOXI works on the web and inside ChatGPT and Claude, which is 4 of 5.

How sensitive the order is

Every reading that could move a total, as printed in our score file:

  • Gemini app 64 if its connected apps are not counted (P7 3, the reading our earlier pages print): Mistral Vibe 7th, Gemini app 8th.
  • Grok 86 if "Grok reads what you point it at" counts as element-level editing (P2 5), which would put Grok 4th, above Copilot (83) and below Claude (87). Grok 84 with a "many languages" statement (P5 3).
  • Perplexity 73 if its one-time free Computer turns count (P6 4; the plan table says No); 70 if "document" means Word (P4 5); 69 with P5 3; 78 with all three.
  • Mistral Vibe 72 if the docs line "Files and Canvas are available on all plans" outweighs the pricing table (P6 4), which would put Mistral 6th, above Perplexity. 70 if Skills count as a template level (P2 4).
  • Meta AI 53 if unstated free use is accepted (P6 3); 51 if a 2024 "coming soon … Arabic" line counts as a list (P5 4).
  • Qwen 45 if free chat counts as free generation (P6 3), 45 if slides as images count (P1 2, from a post on X only), 51 with both plus P4 3.
  • DeepSeek 38 if free chat counts as free generation (P6 3); 37 if image upload is read from its multimodal app models (P4 2).
  • Z.ai 50 if a model page's "finished PPTX … deliverables" counts for the product (P1 3).
  • Claude 83 on the older reading of its editing levels (P2 4). Kimi 92 if a badge-free export were stated (P1 5), 94 with a stated credit amount as well (P6 5), which would put Kimi first.
  • Copilot 81 without admin connectors (P7 4); 80 if its import list is read as three types (P4 3).
  • ChatGPT 86 if the add-in's "may be limited" is read against P1; 82 with Slides not counted for P2 as well, which would put Claude (87) first.
  • NOXI 89 for a deck started from an attached file, where research is off by default (P3 2); 94 without the connector and plugin (P7 2).

Which AI can make a PPT for free?

Four chatbots document a free route to a PowerPoint on 29 October 2026: Claude (Slides on the Free plan), ChatGPT (the PowerPoint add-in with limited usage on Free and Go), Grok (Skills on every account) and Kimi (monthly free credits, amount not stated). The Gemini app makes slides free but hands back Google Slides or PDF.

For reference, NOXI's own account is free, with no card and no watermark: each account gets 1,000 credits a month, a full deck uses about 25, and the PowerPoint download has real text boxes and embedded fonts, Arabic included.

Only the top five have a green dot in the PowerPoint column; below them, the answer is a paid plan, Google Slides or no documented file.

Can AI make a PowerPoint for me?

Yes, if three things are on the vendor's own pages: it builds the whole deck, it gives you an editable .pptx (or edits the file inside PowerPoint), and that works on your plan. Six of the twelve pass all three on a paid plan (the top five and Perplexity); Claude, ChatGPT, Grok and Kimi document a free route too. Our guide to embedding fonts in PowerPoint covers what to check when the file opens on another computer.

Can ChatGPT make a PowerPoint? Yes, in three ways (90)

ChatGPT scores 90, first of twelve: OpenAI documents an add-in inside PowerPoint on every plan, ChatGPT Slides on Pro, Business and Enterprise, and ChatGPT Work for native Google Slides. It loses points only on research placement, languages and the free allowance.

1. ChatGPT 90 / 100

Editable PPTX (5). ChatGPT for PowerPoint works "while preserving editable slide structure", and it is available globally to Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise (OpenAI Help). Editing (5). In Slides, "select the element, then select Request edits", or "Share an example deck with ChatGPT to guide the style" (ChatGPT Slides). Research (3). The add-in reviews "citations where available"; placement on slides is not stated. Import (5). Documents and presentations up to 512 MB per file, including XLSX, CSV and PPTX. Languages (4). Arabic is on the list; no right-to-left statement. Free (4). "Free and Go include limited usage access." Where it runs (5). Inside PowerPoint, plus native Google Docs, Sheets and Slides through ChatGPT Work.

ChatGPT Slides needs Pro or above with Space access; on Free, Go and Plus the add-in is the route. ChatGPT also hosts deck-maker plugins; our NOXI ChatGPT plugin announcement shows that path.

Can Kimi make a PPT? Yes, with sources on the slides (88)

Kimi scores 88, second of twelve, and is the only chatbot here that documents citations on the slides. It loses points on the badge question, the unstated credit amount, a language list without Arabic, and not running inside PowerPoint.

2. Kimi 88 / 100

Editable PPTX (4, v). "you can download an editable PPT file"; no page states whether free files carry a badge (Kimi Help). Editing (5). Comments "on a specific slide area", and it "understands your slide master" (Kimi Slides). Research (5). "on-slide citations you can trace". Import (5). PDF, Word, Excel, PPT, images, TXT and video, each "no larger than 100 MB". Languages (3). Multilingual creation, with no Arabic in the listed languages. Free (4, v). "A certain amount of free credits is available each month", amount not stated. Where it runs (4). Web plus MCP and Skills in plugins; Kimi Office says "Microsoft Office is not supported yet".

Kimi's English help says user data is "located within mainland China"; that is not scored here. Kimi against Genspark and NOXI, with free credits and modes explained, is in our Kimi AI Slides review.

Can Claude make a PowerPoint? Yes, on the Free plan (87)

Claude scores 87, third of twelve, with a documented free route: Slides on every plan, including Free. It loses points on research placement, PowerPoint uploads, right-to-left layout and the free allowance.

3. Claude 87 / 100

Editable PPTX (5). "Decks export to PowerPoint and PDF, or go straight to Google Slides as editable files" (Claude Help). Editing (5). The add-in can "Generate full deck structures", lets you "Select a slide and tell Claude what to change", and works with "existing client or corporate templates" (Claude for PowerPoint). Research (3). "Every response includes citations", in the chat. Import (4). 500 MB per file; PDF, DOCX, CSV and XLSX are listed, PPTX is not. Languages (4). Arabic is in Anthropic's multilingual table. Free (4). Free lists "Claude Design, Slides, Docs". Where it runs (5). The PowerPoint add-in on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, and Google Docs, Sheets and Slides "in public beta on all paid Claude plans" (6 October 2026).

Claude also builds decks through skills and custom connectors; the eight routes, with plans and set-up steps, are compared in our Claude PowerPoint skill guide. On Free, Anthropic notes that "Free users are limited to one custom connector."

Can Copilot make a PowerPoint? Yes, inside PowerPoint (83)

Copilot in PowerPoint scores 83, fourth of twelve, with full marks on the file, editing depth and where it runs. Its free-plan score is 2: Microsoft documents a one-month trial, not a free plan.

4. Microsoft Copilot in PowerPoint 83 / 100

Editable PPTX (5). It "generates or edits content directly within PowerPoint" (Microsoft Support). Editing (5). Examples run from "Update slides 4-6 for a UK audience." to "Make the image on this slide photorealistic.", with a Brand Kit. Research (3). "Copilot's response cites the sources it uses" (connectors). Import (4). "a single Word file", a PDF on work accounts, and an image. Languages (4). Arabic is listed; no right-to-left layout statement. Free (2). A one-month trial of Microsoft 365 Personal, Family and Premium. Where it runs (5). PowerPoint for Windows, Mac and the web, plus connectors.

The consumer Copilot app says it can "Create images and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files" and that "Feature availability varies by subscription type"; another Microsoft page says PowerPoint Agents need "a Microsoft 365 Copilot license". Check your plan. Copilot against NOXI, including why Copilot may not show in your PowerPoint, is in NOXI vs Copilot.

Can Grok make a PowerPoint? Yes: Skills, an add-in and Google Slides (82)

Grok (SpaceXSI, xAI) scores 82, fifth of twelve, through built-in Skills on every account, a PowerPoint add-in and a Google Workspace add-on. It loses points on element-level editing, a language list and where research appears.

5. Grok 82 / 100

Editable PPTX (5). xAI says "Grok for PowerPoint is a free Microsoft 365 add-in." (16 June 2026, xAI) and promises "Real, editable slides." in its own words. Editing (4, v). "A full deck from one prompt", "Add slides, apply styles, or restructure sections", "New slides match your theme"; element-level edits are only implied by "Grok reads what you point it at". Research (3). "complete with research from web or X searches", placement not stated. Import (5). PDF, DOCX, TXT, CSV, XLSX and PPTX, "up to 150 MB per file" (xAI docs). Languages (2, v). No language list found for the Grok apps. Free (4). "Every Grok account ships with built-in skills" (18 May 2026); Free is "$0", "Limited". Where it runs (5). Inside PowerPoint, inside Google Slides ("work directly in Sheets, Slides, and Docs", 24 July 2026) and Grok API access on Plus.

Two official statements about the add-in differ, so both are printed: xAI calls it "a free Microsoft 365 add-in", while its Microsoft Marketplace listing says it is "currently available to SuperGrok, Heavy, Business and Enterprise plans". So don't count on the add-in from Grok Free; the Skills route on grok.com is documented for every account. Plans ("The X Subscription"): Free $0, Plus $8, Premium $30, Super $100 and Ultra $200 a month, before tax.

Can Perplexity make slides? Yes, on paid plans (67)

Perplexity scores 67, sixth of twelve: its file creation makes an editable .pptx on paid plans only (help article of 28 October 2026), and it documents citations on documents only.

6. Perplexity 67 / 100

Editable PPTX (4). "download as editable .pptx, .docx, and .xlsx files", on paid plans (Perplexity Help, Artifacts). Editing (4). "Restructure the whole deck", "Shorten slide 3 to three bullets" and a Selection tool for text, an element or an area; templates: "Not currently." Research (3). "clear, reliable citations (on documents only)"; citations on slides are not stated. Import (4, v). "a document, spreadsheet, deck, or PDF" and images, "limited to 40 MB for all file types"; Word is not named. Languages (2, v). A preferred response language setting, no list. Free (1, v). The plan page shows "File and App Creation" as No on Free, while a Computer page says "Free turns are a one-time allowance." The plan page decides. Where it runs (4). Web and apps plus the API platform and connectors; no PowerPoint add-in.

Perplexity PPT and PowerPoint: what to expect

A Perplexity PowerPoint comes from its file creation (Computer), not from a search answer, and can also be saved to Google Drive as Google Slides. Pro costs $17 a month billed annually; Education Pro is $10 a month with verification from SheerID.

Can Gemini make a PowerPoint? It makes Google Slides (66)

The Gemini app scores 66, seventh on the tie-break. Canvas builds slides for free and exports them to Google Slides or PDF; Google documents no .pptx export and one AI editing level for slides.

7. Gemini app (Canvas) 66 / 100

Editable PPTX (4). "Click Export to Slides . You can also choose to export slides as a PDF." (Gemini Help). Editing (2). Canvas can "create or edit a doc, app, slides, or code"; "Select & ask" is documented for apps and docs only. Research (3). "By default, Gemini includes Google Search as a source for your research." Import (3). "Gemini Apps support most file types", up to 100 MB, types not itemised. Languages (4). Arabic is listed. Free (4). "Slide generation" is ticked "Without a Google AI plan", no number stated. Where it runs (4). Web and mobile, plus "Connected apps", also ticked without a plan.

For a .pptx, export to Google Slides and download it from Google Slides' own menu; that step belongs to Google Slides, so it is not scored here. Gemini against NOXI, step by step, is in NOXI vs Gemini.

Mistral Vibe, Meta AI, Z.ai and Qwen: partial routes

Four chatbots document part of the way: Mistral Vibe saves a PowerPoint file on paid plans, Meta AI generates slides in select markets, Z.ai exports PDF, and Qwen documents no slide feature on an official page.

Mistral slides: what happened to Le Chat? (66)

Mistral's assistant is now called Vibe: Mistral's own page says "Le Chat is now Vibe." Mistral Vibe (formerly Le Chat) scores 66, 8th on the tie-break. Canvas lets you "save the deck as a PowerPoint file for final adjustments" (Mistral docs), editability not stated (P1 3), and edits a selected passage only (P2 3). It imports PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV and images up to 100 MB (P4 5), and its language page names "Middle Eastern Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, Turkish, Urdu" (P5 4). The pricing page shows Slides and Canvas as a dash on Free and ticked on Pro at $14.99 a month excluding tax, while the docs say "Files and Canvas are available on all plans"; the pricing page decides (P6 1). Custom MCP connectors (beta) are ticked even on Free (P7 4). Separately, the Vibe app's listing on Apple's Saudi App Store names no Arabic among its interface languages; the scored language cell rests on Mistral's model language page above.

Can Meta AI create a PPT? (49)

Meta AI scores 49. Meta's newsroom says you can "ask Meta AI to generate slides" and tell it to "cut a section", with features "rolling out today in select markets" (24 July 2026). No official page names a file format (P1 1, v). Meta AI accepts CSV, XLSX, PDF and DOCX files (P4 4), and Meta's help page documents creating "text documents on www.meta.ai", "currently in beta". Slides are documented for select markets only: Meta's post does not name them, and no Meta page for an Arabic-speaking market documents slides. Meta's newer personal agent, Muse, is a separate product rolling out in the US; no Muse page mentions slides.

Z.ai slides and GLM PPT (46)

Z.ai's GLM Slide Agent scores 46. Its docs say "Export as PDF ( PPTX and other formats coming soon )" (P1 2), the agent has "real-time web data access" (P3 3), and it is priced pay as you go at $0.7 per million tokens with no published free terms (P6 1). Z.ai is scored as an agent, with Kimi and Genspark, in our agents ranking.

Can Qwen make a PPT? (41)

Qwen Chat scores 41. Qwen's home page says "It's free to use, open to all" and documents Deep Research, an API platform and apps on five platforms, but no official Qwen page documents slides or a PowerPoint file. The Qwen Chat menu shows a Slides item that guests cannot use; in-app menus are not official pages under our rules, for every vendor. Qwen's model blog lists "119 languages and dialects", Arabic among them (P5 4).

Can DeepSeek make a PPT? Not on any official page (34)

No official DeepSeek page documents a PowerPoint file or a slide feature in its chat, so DeepSeek scores 34, twelfth of twelve. Its chat is free ("Chat with leading AI models for free.") with DeepThink and Search, a good place to draft the outline.

DeepSeek's changelog of 17 October 2026 mentions multilingual search, without a language list. DeepSeek also publishes Harness, an open-source developer agent whose page mentions it can "draft docs, and create slides"; the file format is not stated and it runs on a DeepSeek API key, so it is not scored as the chat product.

DeepSeek PPT: the two-step workflow

  1. Draft in DeepSeek. Ask for a slide-by-slide outline: a full-sentence title per slide and every number with its source and year.
  2. Check the numbers against each source the outline names.
  3. Build the deck elsewhere. Paste the outline into a tool that documents an editable .pptx: Claude's Slides on Free, the ChatGPT add-in, or a deck maker such as NOXI.
Decision chart from the chatbot you already use to a PowerPoint file. ChatGPT: the ChatGPT for PowerPoint add-in, limited on Free, or a deck plugin such as NOXI, giving a .pptx. Claude: Slides on every plan exported to PowerPoint, add-in from Pro. Copilot with Microsoft 365: work inside PowerPoint on the open file. Gemini: Canvas slides exported to Google Slides or PDF, then downloaded from Google Slides. DeepSeek, Qwen or Meta AI: no PowerPoint file documented, so draft the outline and use a deck maker.
Every chatbot has a shortest route to a file; for DeepSeek, Qwen and Meta AI that route runs through a separate deck maker.

What these rules don't measure

These seven rules measure what each vendor documents about decks and files, not how good the writing, reasoning or design is, and several chatbots lead on things the rubric leaves out.

  • Writing quality and reasoning: often why people choose ChatGPT, Claude or DeepSeek in the first place.
  • Image generation: not scored for any row.
  • Privacy and data location: for example, Kimi's English help says data is located "within mainland China"; we score none of these policies.
  • Regional availability: Meta AI's slides are rolling out "in select markets"; plugin and add-in availability also varies by plan and region.
  • Meta's Muse: a separate personal agent, rolling out in the US, not scored.
  • Grok's X search for news-driven decks.
  • DeepSeek Harness: an open-source developer agent that mentions slides.
  • Kimi's agent swarm, ChatGPT Slides' real-time co-editing, Claude's connectors in Excel and Gemini's Google Workspace reach.
  • Price of paid tiers: the cheapest paid plan is printed, not scored.

Worked example: one analyst, six decks a month, a free chatbot

Start from the chatbot you already use, read its free-plan row, then price the options for a year.

Example Priya Nair (fictional) is an operations analyst in Pune. She drafts in DeepSeek and uses ChatGPT Free. She sends 6 decks a month to a manager who edits them in PowerPoint. Her three checks: the deck is built from her outline, she can change slides afterwards, and the manager receives an editable PowerPoint with no watermark.

Step 1: read her two chatbots against the checks

DeepSeek documents no PowerPoint file, so she would copy text into slides by hand. ChatGPT Free's add-in, with limited usage, edits a file she already has open; Slides needs Pro or above. Perplexity and Mistral Vibe create files only on paid plans.

Step 2: price the options for a year

OptionArithmetic (US prices as shown)Cost a yearWhat it adds
Perplexity Pro$17 a month billed annually × 12$204Editable .pptx from file creation
ChatGPT Plus$20 a month × 12 (OpenAI Help)$240More headroom than Free in ChatGPT
Claude Pro$200 up front, billed annually$200The add-in inside PowerPoint; Slides itself is on Free
NOXI plugin in ChatGPT FreeInstall, connect, ask @NOXI with her DeepSeek outlineNo paid chatbot plan; uses her regular NOXI creditsEditable PowerPoint, PDF and HTML files back in the chat

Priya's decision: DeepSeek for the outline and the NOXI plugin inside ChatGPT for the six decks, with Claude's Free Slides as a second route. Against Perplexity Pro she spends $204 a year less, and against ChatGPT Plus $240 a year less. Check: 17 × 12 = 204; 20 × 12 = 240. She reviews the setup on 1 February 2027.

Key terms

Definition What is an editable PPTX export? An editable PPTX export is a PowerPoint file whose text sits in real text boxes you can change in PowerPoint, rather than flattened images. This ranking gives full marks only when the vendor documents it on the free plan with no badge, or when the tool edits the PowerPoint file itself.
Definition What is a PowerPoint add-in? A PowerPoint add-in is an extension installed from Microsoft's store that runs inside PowerPoint and works on the open file. ChatGPT, Claude and Grok each publish one; Copilot is built into Microsoft 365 instead.
Definition What is a ChatGPT plugin? A ChatGPT plugin is an add-on installed from ChatGPT's plugin directory that connects ChatGPT to an outside service, such as a presentation maker, and lets you call it in a chat with an @ mention.

Build it: a PowerPoint from your outline with the NOXI plugin in ChatGPT

To make a deck with NOXI inside ChatGPT, open Plugins in the sidebar, search for NOXI, select Install plugin, then Connect and sign in to NOXI, and ask @NOXI for the deck in any chat. OpenAI says installing or using a plugin depends on your plan, workspace, role and region.

Prompt 1 · A deck from your outline

@NOXI create a [10]-slide presentation for [my manager] on [the monthly operations review] from this outline: [paste outline]. Write every slide title as a full-sentence finding, put the key numbers on one slide with their arithmetic, and end with the decision and its owner.

Prompt 2 · A researched deck in another language

@NOXI make an [8]-slide deck in [Arabic] about [warehouse automation in the Gulf] for [the regional team], with fresh web research and the source and year of every figure.

Prompt 3 · Change it in the same chat

@NOXI in my latest NOXI presentation, make slide [4] a timeline of [the rollout dates], shorten every bullet to under [12] words, then export it as a PowerPoint file.

Step 1 — Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar

In ChatGPT, open Plugins in the sidebar. OpenAI says "The plugin directory is available across ChatGPT plans."

Step 2 — Search for NOXI and open the listing

Type NOXI in the directory search and open the result named NOXI, AI presentation maker.

Step 3 — Select Install plugin

Select Install plugin. If the button is not shown, your plan, region or administrator settings may limit plugins.

Step 4 — Connect and sign in to NOXI

Select Connect. A NOXI window opens: sign in to your NOXI account, or create a free one, and approve access. No API key or password goes into the chat.

Step 5 — Ask @NOXI for the deck

In any chat, type @NOXI, or select + and choose NOXI, then paste Prompt 1 with your outline. ChatGPT may ask you to approve the action first.

Step 6 — Get the files back, or keep editing

The result comes back in the chat with slide previews and PowerPoint (.pptx), PDF and HTML files, plus Open in NOXI to edit, present or share. Send Prompt 3 to change slides in the same chat.

The PowerPoint file has real text boxes and embedded fonts, Arabic included, with no watermark.

Claude users can connect the same NOXI server as a custom connector: in Claude, go to Customize > Connectors, click "+ Add", then "Add custom connector", and enter the address mcp.noxi.ai/mcp from noxi.ai/connect.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI can make a PowerPoint for free?
On vendor pages checked on 29 October 2026, Claude's Free plan includes Slides with export to PowerPoint, ChatGPT's PowerPoint add-in offers limited use on Free, and Grok's Skills run on every account. Kimi gives monthly free credits, and the Gemini app makes slides free but exports Google Slides or PDF, not .pptx.
Can DeepSeek make a PPT?
Not on any official DeepSeek page checked on 29 October 2026: its free chat documents no slide feature or PowerPoint file, which is why DeepSeek scores 34 of 100 here. Use it to draft a slide-by-slide outline, then build the file in a tool that documents an editable .pptx, such as Claude's Slides or a deck maker.
Can Perplexity make slides?
Yes, on paid plans. Perplexity's help article of 28 October 2026 says file creation downloads editable .pptx, .docx and .xlsx files, while its plan page shows file creation as No on Free. Pro costs $17 a month billed annually. Perplexity scores 67 of 100 on our seven rules.
Can Grok make a PowerPoint?
Yes. Grok scores 82 of 100: xAI says every Grok account has built-in Skills that make PowerPoint slides, and it launched Grok for PowerPoint on 16 June 2026. xAI calls the add-in free, while Microsoft's Marketplace listing says it is available to SuperGrok, Heavy, Business and Enterprise plans, so check your plan.
Can Gemini make a PowerPoint?
The Gemini app makes slides in Canvas for free and exports them to Google Slides or PDF; Google's help, checked on 29 October 2026, documents no .pptx export from Gemini. You can download a PowerPoint from Google Slides afterwards. The Gemini app scores 66 of 100 here, seventh on the tie-break.
Can Claude make a PowerPoint for free?
Yes. Anthropic lists Slides on the Free plan, and its help says decks export to PowerPoint and PDF or go straight to Google Slides. The Claude for PowerPoint add-in needs Pro or above; Pro is $17 a month billed annually. Claude scores 87 of 100 on our rules, checked 29 October 2026.
Can Copilot make a PowerPoint?
Yes, inside PowerPoint: Microsoft says Copilot generates or edits content directly in PowerPoint for Windows, Mac and the web, and it scores 83 of 100 here. It needs a Microsoft 365 plan, such as Personal at $9.99 a month, with a one-month trial; the standalone Copilot app's PowerPoint files depend on your subscription.
Can Meta AI or Qwen make a PPT?
Meta says Meta AI can generate slides in select markets (24 July 2026), but no page names a PowerPoint file; it scores 49. No official Qwen page documents slides or a PowerPoint file, and Qwen Chat scores 41. For both, draft the outline in the chat and build the file in a deck tool.
What happened to Le Chat?
Mistral renamed its assistant: its page says "Le Chat is now Vibe." Mistral Vibe can save a Canvas deck as a PowerPoint file, and its pricing page lists Slides on Pro at $14.99 a month excluding tax, not on Free. Mistral Vibe scores 66 of 100 here, eighth on the tie-break, checked 29 October 2026.
How do I use NOXI inside ChatGPT?
Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar, search for NOXI, select Install plugin, then Connect and sign in to NOXI. In any chat, type @NOXI or choose it from the + menu and describe the deck. Slide previews and PowerPoint, PDF and HTML files come back in the chat; NOXI's reference row scores 98 here.

Sources & methodology

Every page below was opened on 29 October 2026 without signing in. Prices are US-dollar figures as shown on the vendor's own page; chatgpt.com/pricing showed a local currency, so the ChatGPT Plus price is taken from OpenAI's help article. Priya Nair is fictional.

Check three things on your chatbot's own pages: a whole deck, an editable PowerPoint, and both on your plan. If yours documents no file, NOXI hands back an editable PowerPoint, on noxi.ai or inside ChatGPT.
