Disclosure: NOXI publishes this page and is one of the tools scored. That's why the rules, weights and the source of every cell are printed, along with where NOXI loses points. Every Microsoft fact below comes from Microsoft's own support, pricing, roadmap and investor pages, opened on 26 October 2026.
Quick answer: Copilot in PowerPoint comes with Microsoft 365 Personal, Family or Premium (from $9.99 a month) or a work Copilot licence. It isn't in free PowerPoint and builds decks on Windows, Mac, the web and iPad, not phones. Use it when the file and template are fixed. On seven rules, NOXI scores 98 and Copilot 83 (26 October 2026).
Many guides to Copilot in PowerPoint still tell you to buy Copilot Pro, which Microsoft no longer sells, and few say that Copilot builds decks on an iPad but not on a phone. This page reads Microsoft's own pages on one day: who gets Copilot in PowerPoint, its US prices, how to find a missing Copilot button, where it runs, and how it scores against NOXI on printed rules.
In short
- The resultNOXI 98, Microsoft Copilot in PowerPoint 83 on seven documented-capability rules, checked on 26 October 2026: a 15-point gap.
- Where Copilot leadsIt works inside PowerPoint itself, on Windows, Mac and the web, with connectors your admin enables: Copilot scores 5 on "where it runs", NOXI 4.
- Where the gap comes fromSources on the slide (+6), the free plan (+6), import (+3) and right-to-left layout (+2), minus 2 on where it runs. Export and editing depth are level.
- Is it free? No. Microsoft says it "isn't included with the free version of PowerPoint". The cheapest plan with it is Microsoft 365 Personal at $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.
- PhonesCopilot builds decks in PowerPoint on Windows, Mac, the web and iPad. On iPhone and Android phones it summarises a deck and answers questions about it.
- Copilot Pro"No longer available for purchase"; support for existing subscribers ended on 1 August 2026.
Key numbers
The first two describe Microsoft's reach, not Copilot's slides; no rule rewards size.
Copilot in PowerPoint vs NOXI side by side (26 October 2026)
Copilot is an AI assistant inside PowerPoint that writes and edits slides in the open file; NOXI is an AI presentation maker that builds the deck in its own editor and hands you an editable PowerPoint. They differ on price, devices, sources on slides and right-to-left layout.

How we compared Copilot in PowerPoint and NOXI
Copilot and NOXI were scored on documented capability with rubric P: seven criteria, one written rule each, applied the same way to both rows. We re-applied the rules of our AI presentation tools ranking on 26 October 2026; the ranking's method section has the full anchors.
| Code | Criterion | Weight | The rule (identical for both) |
|---|---|---|---|
| P1 | Editable PPTX export | 20 | 5 = an editable .pptx with real text boxes documented on the free plan with no badge, or the tool edits the native PowerPoint or Google Slides file; 4 = the same export on paid plans only, or free with a badge; 3 = the vendor documents visible differences or elements that become images; 2 = PDF or images only, or a third-party step; 1 = no file export documented. |
| P2 | Editing depth | 20 | 5 = four AI levels documented: whole deck, one slide, one selected element, your own template or brand kit as the style (plus manual editing); 4 = three; 3 = two; 1 = only regeneration, or only manual editing. |
| P3 | Research with sources | 15 | 5 = web research documented and the source appears on the slide; 4 = cited research, placement not stated; 3 = research or citations in the chat only; 2 = grounds on uploads, no sources shown; 1 = none documented. |
| P4 | Import | 15 | 5 = PDF, Word, Excel or CSV, PowerPoint and images all accepted to create a deck, with a stated size limit; 4 = four of five, or all five with no limit; 3 = two or three types; 2 = one; 1 = text prompt only. |
| P5 | Languages incl. RTL | 10 | 5 = right-to-left layout documented; 4 = a list naming Arabic; 3 = "many languages" without a list; 2 = no list; 1 = English only. |
| P6 | Free plan reality | 10 | 5 = free generation and editable export, no card, no watermark, a stated monthly allowance; 4 = a badged export or a small one-time pool; 3 = free generation without PowerPoint export; 2 = a time-limited trial only; 1 = no free use documented. |
| P7 | Where it runs | 10 | 5 = web + inside PowerPoint or Google Slides + an API, MCP server or connectors; 4 = web + one of those; 3 = web + desktop or mobile apps; 2 = web only, or a single host app. |
Two clarifications apply to every row: a tool that works inside the PowerPoint file itself meets P1's second route, and only official pages count, not in-app messages, for Copilot and NOXI alike.
The scored table: NOXI 98, Copilot in PowerPoint 83
NOXI scores 98 and Copilot in PowerPoint 83 out of 100 on the seven rules. NOXI gains 17 points on sources, the free plan, import and right-to-left layout; Copilot gains 2 back on where it runs. They are level on the file and on editing depth.

| Criterion | NOXI: rating and reason | Copilot: rating and reason | Lead |
|---|---|---|---|
| P1 Export (20) | 5. Editable PowerPoint (.pptx) with real text boxes and embedded fonts, Arabic included, on the free account, no watermark | 5. Copilot "generates or edits content directly within PowerPoint": the file is the deck, no export step [11] | Level |
| P2 Editing (20) | 5. Edit one slide or the whole deck by chat; click an element and say what to change; Match reference uses your PowerPoint or PDF as the style; manual edits to text, tables and chart numbers | 5. Whole decks, "Update slides 4-6 for a UK audience.", "Make the image on this slide photorealistic.", your open template or a Brand Kit [11][18] | Level |
| P3 Sources (15) | 5. Prompt-started decks research the web first; slides with figures carry a source line linking to where each number came from | 3. "Copilot's response cites the sources it uses": the citations sit in the response, not on the slide [13] | NOXI +6 |
| P4 Import (15) | 5. PDF, Word, Excel or CSV, PowerPoint and images, up to 200 MB per file | 4. Word (home), PDF (work), a spreadsheet as chart source, an image in Agent Mode: four of five types, no stated limit [5][12][14] | NOXI +3 |
| P5 RTL (10) | 5. Right-to-left slides; timelines and tables run right to left | 4. Arabic in both of Copilot's language lists; no right-to-left layout statement [15] | NOXI +2 |
| P6 Free plan (10) | 5. 1,000 credits reset every month, a deck uses about 25, no card, no watermark | 2. "a one-month trial of Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, and Premium"; not in free PowerPoint [3][7] | NOXI +6 |
| P7 Where it runs (10) | 4. Web plus a connector for AI assistants at the address on noxi.ai/connect; a 5 also needs an add-in inside PowerPoint or Google Slides [27] | 5. "available in PowerPoint for Windows, Mac, and the web", plus connectors "enabled by your admin" [11][13] | Copilot +2 |
The arithmetic, row by row
Each weighted score is the rating ÷ 5 × the weight; each total is the sum of seven.
| Criterion | NOXI | Copilot | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| P1 (20) | 5 ÷ 5 × 20 = 20 | 5 ÷ 5 × 20 = 20 | 0 |
| P2 (20) | 5 ÷ 5 × 20 = 20 | 5 ÷ 5 × 20 = 20 | 0 |
| P3 (15) | 5 ÷ 5 × 15 = 15 | 3 ÷ 5 × 15 = 9 | NOXI +6 |
| P4 (15) | 5 ÷ 5 × 15 = 15 | 4 ÷ 5 × 15 = 12 | NOXI +3 |
| P5 (10) | 5 ÷ 5 × 10 = 10 | 4 ÷ 5 × 10 = 8 | NOXI +2 |
| P6 (10) | 5 ÷ 5 × 10 = 10 | 2 ÷ 5 × 10 = 4 | NOXI +6 |
| P7 (10) | 4 ÷ 5 × 10 = 8 | 5 ÷ 5 × 10 = 10 | Copilot +2 |
| Total | 20 + 20 + 15 + 15 + 10 + 10 + 8 = 98 | 20 + 20 + 9 + 12 + 8 + 4 + 10 = 83 | 6 + 3 + 2 + 6 − 2 = 15 |
Why the gap is 15 points
The 15 points are 6 + 3 + 2 + 6 − 2, and 98 − 83 = 15. The largest pieces are sources on the slide (Copilot's citations sit in its response) and the free plan (Copilot starts with a paid plan or a trial), at 6 each; import adds 3 and right-to-left layout 2. Copilot takes 2 back on P7, the only criterion where it leads: it runs inside PowerPoint, while NOXI runs in the browser and connects to AI assistants. NOXI scores highest on these seven rules.
What would change the result
- Copilot 81 if admin-enabled work connectors are not counted (P7 = 4: 415 − 10 = 405, ÷ 5 = 81).
- Copilot 80 if a spreadsheet used as a chart source is not counted as an import (P4 = 3: 415 − 15 = 400, ÷ 5 = 80).
- NOXI 94 if the connector is not counted (P7 = 2).
- NOXI 89 for a deck started from an attached file: research and source lines are off by default then (P3 = 2: 490 − 45 = 445, ÷ 5 = 89).
No line changes the order: NOXI's lowest line (89, a deck started from a file) against Copilot's highest (83) still leaves a 6-point gap.
Our published tests, a different method
Our June 2026 test of twelve AI presentation makers ranked the results of the same briefs by hand: NOXI came first and Microsoft Copilot eighth, with no sources on its figures. In our separate Arabic brief test of September 2026, NOXI scored 91 and Copilot came second with 70. Both tests are separate from the documented-capability score on this page and are not added to it.
Who gets Copilot in PowerPoint?
Copilot in PowerPoint comes with Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, Premium and Pro on personal accounts, and with a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence at work. It is not in free PowerPoint, not in Microsoft 365 Basic, and not in the free Copilot Chat that work accounts get [7][8][9][10].

| Account | Copilot in PowerPoint? | US price (26 Oct 2026) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Microsoft account | No: "It isn't included with the free version of PowerPoint." | $0 (PowerPoint for the web and mobile) | [7] |
| Microsoft 365 Basic | No: "AI features are not available in Microsoft 365 Basic." | A paid plan without AI features | [8] |
| Personal | Yes, for one person | $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year | [3] |
| Family | Yes, for the subscription owner only | $12.99 a month or $129.99 a year | [3][9] |
| Premium | Yes | $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year | [3] |
| Pro | Yes, with "the highest usage available for Copilot" | $99.99 a month, monthly billing only | [3][29] |
| Copilot Pro | "No longer available for purchase"; support ended 1 August 2026 | Not sold | [6] |
| Work: Copilot Chat | No: "don't have access to Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote" | Included with eligible Microsoft 365 | [9][10] |
| Work: Copilot Business add-on | Yes | $18 per user a month paid yearly (from $21); $25.20 monthly | [4] |
| Work: Microsoft 365 Copilot | Yes (enterprise add-on) | $30 per user a month paid yearly | [10] |
Personal accounts: one owner, one Copilot
On personal accounts, "only the subscription owner can use Copilot in the desktop apps" [9], and AI features "cannot be shared" [8]. If two people at home both need Copilot, budget two Personal plans, not one Family plan.
Work accounts: three levels
Microsoft's licence page names three work levels: Copilot Chat (Basic), with no Copilot in the Office apps; M365 Copilot (Basic), with "standard access to Copilot in the apps"; and M365 Copilot (Premium), with "priority access for the full experience" [9]. The Business add-on needs an eligible Microsoft 365 business plan; bundles cost $23.50 (Business Standard with Copilot) and $32 (Business Premium with Copilot) per user a month, paid yearly, and the page mentions "Usage-based billing for select advanced AI features" [4].
Is Copilot in PowerPoint free?
No. Microsoft says: "Copilot in PowerPoint is available with a Microsoft 365 subscription. It isn't included with the free version of PowerPoint" [7]. The free routes are a one-month trial of Personal, Family or Premium, and the "limited free version of Copilot" outside PowerPoint [3].
The one-month trial is the cheapest way to try Copilot on your own decks; the subscription "automatically renews unless canceled" [3]. No official Microsoft page we opened documents the free Copilot app producing a PowerPoint file, so treat it as a writing assistant, not a deck builder. For what every AI presentation tool costs per deck, see our AI presentation maker pricing comparison.
Copilot Pro: is it still available?
No. Microsoft's Copilot Pro page says "Copilot Pro is no longer available for purchase; existing subscribers can continue using it until they cancel or support ends on August 1, 2026", and points former subscribers to Microsoft 365 Premium [6]. Any guide that tells you to "add Copilot Pro" to get Copilot in PowerPoint predates that change.
Copilot Business price for a team
The Copilot Business add-on is "Originally starting from $21.00 now starting from $18.00" per user a month, paid yearly, for purchases "between July 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026", first year only [4]. Five users pay 5 × $18 × 12 = $1,080 in the first year (worked example below).
How to use Copilot in PowerPoint
To use Copilot in PowerPoint, open a presentation, select the Copilot icon at the bottom-right of the screen, and describe the deck you want; Copilot may ask about the audience, length, template and images before it builds the slides, and you can answer or let it decide [5]. The same panel then edits slides, images and text in the open file.
Create a presentation with Copilot from a prompt
- Start a new presentation, or open your organisation's template first, so Copilot keeps its theme and design [5].
- Open Copilot with the icon at the bottom-right of the window [5][17].
- Type the topic, audience, number of slides and tone in one prompt, and answer Copilot's follow-up questions or let it choose [5].
- Review the slides, then ask for changes slide by slide.
Create a presentation from a Word file or a PDF
On home plans Copilot builds a deck from "a single Word file", which you reference by typing "/" in the Copilot box; with Microsoft Copilot for work "you'll also have the option to use a PDF, and encrypted files will be included" [12]. Microsoft's tip: "Copilot works best with Word documents that are smaller than 24 MB", and heading styles in the Word file help it find the structure [5]. Since July 2026, Agent Mode on desktop also lets you "Attach and reference an image when creating a presentation" (roadmap item 555881, status Launched) [14].
Edit slides with Copilot
Copilot edits the whole deck, a range of slides ("Update slides 4-6 for a UK audience.") or one element ("Make the image on this slide photorealistic."), and generates interactive slides "like dashboards, timelines" [11]. Since 6 October 2026, Windows users can create custom skills for repeated tasks [22].
Use your company template and Brand Kit
For a fixed corporate look, open the company template and ask Copilot to work in it; on a work licence, an admin can also set up a Brand Kit. Microsoft says "you must have a Microsoft Copilot license to access Brand Kit", that Brand Kit accepts ".potx file or .pptx file" templates, and that creating official brand kits "requires a Microsoft Copilot Premium license" [11][18][19].
For a side-by-side of template routes in Copilot and other tools, see AI presentations in your own template.
Prompts that work well in Copilot
Copilot prompts work best when they name the audience, the slide range and the result, as Microsoft's own examples do:
- Draft: "Create a 10-slide deck on [topic] for [audience], with one finding per slide title and a decision slide at the end."
- Range edit: "Rewrite slides 3-5 for a non-technical audience and cut each bullet to under 12 words."
- Element edit: "Turn the table on this slide into a bar chart and keep the brand colours."
Our list of ChatGPT prompts for presentations has 40 more that work in Copilot too.
Why is Copilot not in my PowerPoint?
Copilot is usually not missing: Microsoft moved it into one entry point, "the Copilot Dynamic Action Button, anchored in the lower-right corner of your document" [17]. If it isn't there, Microsoft's July 2026 checklist is: update Office, refresh your licence, check your update channel (business), and turn on two privacy settings [17].

| Step | Windows | Mac | Web |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Look | Lower-right corner of the document | Same | Same |
| 2. Update | Install Office updates | Update Office for Mac | Refresh the page |
| 3. Licence | File > Account > Update License, then restart all Microsoft 365 apps | App menu > About > More Info… > Refresh License | Allow third-party cookies: blocking them stops Copilot validating your licence |
| 4. Channel (business) | Current or Monthly Enterprise Channel; if it shows Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel, contact your help desk | Not listed | Not applicable |
| 5. Privacy | File > Account > Account Privacy > Manage Settings: turn on both settings | Preferences > Privacy: same two settings | Not listed |
The two privacy settings are "Experiences that analyze your content" and "All connected experiences" [17]. Microsoft's FAQ adds three checks: Copilot works only with ".ppt, .pptx" files and "needs an internet connection", and some features, including creating a presentation about a topic, "only work if the user also has a Designer license" [12]. If all of that is in order, check which licence you have on Microsoft's licence page [9]: Copilot Chat (Basic) has no Copilot in PowerPoint.
Copilot in PowerPoint not working: three other causes
- The wrong plan. Free PowerPoint, Microsoft 365 Basic and the free Copilot Chat at work don't include Copilot in PowerPoint [7][8][9].
- A shared Family plan. Only the owner can use Copilot in the desktop apps [9].
- The file type or connection. Copilot needs a .ppt or .pptx file and an internet connection [12].
Copilot in PowerPoint on Mac, web, iPad and phones
Copilot in PowerPoint creates and edits decks on Windows, Mac, the web and iPad; on iPhone and Android phones it summarises a presentation and answers questions about it. Microsoft's mobile page says that, for an eligible subscription, Copilot in PowerPoint "is currently only available on iPad devices, along with Mac and Windows"; Android tablets are not on that list [11][16].
| Device | Build a deck | Edit and ask | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows | Yes; Agent Mode can take an attached image | Yes; custom skills since 6 October 2026 | [11][14][22] |
| Mac | Yes | Yes | [11] |
| Web | Yes | Yes; allow third-party cookies | [11][17] |
| iPad | Yes | Yes | [16] |
| iPhone, Android phone | Not documented | "ask questions and get a quick summary" of a shared deck | [16] |
| Android tablet | Not listed | Not documented | [16] |
If you build decks between meetings on a phone, Copilot in PowerPoint is a reader there, not a builder. NOXI runs in the phone browser: generate, edit with AI, present and share.
Is Copilot good for PowerPoint? Where it leads
Yes, for anyone whose deck must stay a PowerPoint file in a Microsoft 365 organisation. Copilot works inside the .pptx, your template and your tenant, runs on Windows, Mac, the web and iPad, and leads NOXI on rubric P's "where it runs" criterion (5 against 4) [11].
| Copilot strength | What Microsoft documents | NOXI's route for the same job |
|---|---|---|
| The file is the deck | "generates or edits content directly within PowerPoint" [11] | NOXI builds the deck in its editor; you download an editable .pptx |
| Your template and Brand Kit | Starts from your template; Brand Kit takes .pptx or .potx on a work licence [5][18] | Match reference: upload any PowerPoint, PDF or image as the style |
| Organisation context | "Connectors let Copilot in PowerPoint use information from connected apps", chosen by your admin [13] | Attach the files the deck needs: PDF, Word, Excel or CSV, PowerPoint, images |
| No new tool to approve | Part of the Microsoft 365 plan the organisation already licenses [4][10] | A free NOXI account; nothing to install |
If two of these rows describe your week, Copilot fits those decks, whatever the total says. Our ranking of AI add-ins for PowerPoint scores the other assistants that work inside PowerPoint.
How Copilot compares with ChatGPT, Gamma and Gemini on the same rules
On the same seven rules on 26 October 2026, ChatGPT scores 90, Copilot in PowerPoint 83, Gamma 83 and Gemini in Google Slides 66; Copilot is listed above Gamma on the P1 tie-break (5 against 3). ChatGPT's 7-point lead over Copilot comes from its free plan (4 against 2) and import (5 against 4: all five file types with a stated size limit). The Gamma vs PowerPoint comparison prints the Gamma row cell by cell.
Copilot in PowerPoint: languages and Arabic
Arabic is on Microsoft's list of languages for Copilot prompts and responses, for both work or school and personal accounts (page last updated September 2026), but Copilot's pages make no statement about right-to-left slide layout [15]. That is why Copilot scores 4 on P5 and NOXI 5.
Three more lines matter for non-English decks. The FAQ says "The quality is expected to be highest in English", and Design Suggestions "only officially supports results of the locale "en-US"" [12]. Hindi is listed for personal accounts only [15]. And PowerPoint itself handles right-to-left text [26], so an Arabic deck Copilot writes inside a right-to-left template keeps that direction, while an English template stays left-to-right until you mirror it.
Arabic decks in NOXI
NOXI has a full Arabic interface and right-to-left slides: slide direction follows the content, timelines and tables run right to left, four Arabic fonts are available, and Arabic and English can share a slide. The editable .pptx embeds the fonts, Arabic included, so the file opens with your typography. Translate a deck creates a separate Arabic or English version of a deck you already have.
Does Copilot train on my presentations?
No, by Microsoft's own statements. On home plans, "Prompts, responses, and your file contents when using Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps aren't used to train foundation models" [20]. At work, "Prompts, responses, and data accessed through Microsoft Graph aren't used to train foundation LLMs" [21].
Microsoft adds that optional customer feedback may be used to improve Copilot [20]. NOXI's privacy policy (updated 20 September 2026) states: "We do not use your presentations, prompts, or uploaded files to train or fine-tune AI models" [28].
What these rules don't measure
Rubric P measures what a vendor documents before you pay, not design quality, speed, accuracy, presenting features or IT fit, and it gives NOXI a 5 on six of seven criteria, so read it with this list beside it.
- Working inside the file your organisation already uses. Copilot edits the .pptx in place, with Brand Kit, and needs no new tool approved [11][18].
- PowerPoint's own design and presenting tools. Designer offers design ideas to Microsoft 365 subscribers on desktop [25]; Zoom creates "a landing page where you can see the pieces of your presentation all at once" [23]; Morph animates movement between slides [24]. No rubric P criterion scores them.
- Tenant governance and organisation context. Admins choose the connectors Copilot may read and publish templates to the Organization Asset Library [13][12]. That control matters to IT teams and is not scored.
- Custom skills. Since 6 October 2026, Windows users can build their own Copilot skills for repeated presentation tasks [22].
- Output quality, speed and accuracy. No official page measures them in a form a printed rule can score; check every figure against its source, whichever tool made it.
The fair test is your own: run one real brief through both and compare the slides you would actually send.
Worked example: one trainer, Copilot, NOXI or both
A trainer who already pays $99.99 a year for Microsoft 365 Personal gets Copilot at no extra cost and can build researched and Arabic decks in NOXI for $0; a five-person work team would pay $1,080 in the first year.
Step 1: what her plan already includes
Microsoft 365 Personal includes Copilot in PowerPoint for one person, the owner [3][9]. On yearly billing she pays $99.99; monthly billing would cost 12 × $9.99 = $119.88, so yearly saves $119.88 − $99.99 = $19.89, which is $19.89 ÷ $119.88 = 16.6% less. She uses Copilot for the 5 monthly updates to client files, because those files carry each client's template.
Step 2: what NOXI's free allowance covers
The 3 researched decks and the 2 Arabic decks go to NOXI: 5 × 25 = 125 credits a month, 12.5% of the 1,000-credit allowance. Over a year that is 12 × 125 = 1,500 credits out of 12 × 1,000 = 12,000. Even if all 10 decks went to NOXI, 10 × 25 = 250 credits would use 25% of the month's allowance. NOXI costs her $0.
Step 3: the team option
| Option for 5 people | Price used | First year |
|---|---|---|
| Copilot Business add-on, promotion | $18 per user a month, paid yearly | 5 × $18 × 12 = $1,080 |
| Copilot Business add-on, list | $21 per user a month, paid yearly | 5 × $21 × 12 = $1,260 |
| Business Standard with Copilot | $23.50 per user a month, paid yearly | 5 × $23.50 × 12 = $1,410 |
| NOXI | Free, 1,000 credits per account a month | $0 |
The promotion saves $1,260 − $1,080 = $180 in the first year, $180 ÷ $1,260 = 14.3%. The add-on sits on top of a Business plan the team must already pay for; the $1,410 bundle includes Business Standard [4].
Step 4: re-weight the rules to her priorities
She already pays for Microsoft 365 and cares that a deck can be worked on inside PowerPoint, so she moves the 10 points of P6 (free plan) to P7 (where it runs): P6 = 0, P7 = 20. Check: 20 + 20 + 15 + 15 + 10 + 0 + 20 = 100.
| Criterion (her weight) | NOXI | Copilot |
|---|---|---|
| P1 (20) | 20 | 20 |
| P2 (20) | 20 | 20 |
| P3 (15) | 15 | 9 |
| P4 (15) | 15 | 12 |
| P5 (10) | 10 | 8 |
| P6 (0) | 0 | 0 |
| P7 (20) | 4 ÷ 5 × 20 = 16 | 5 ÷ 5 × 20 = 20 |
| Total | 20 + 20 + 15 + 15 + 10 + 16 = 96 | 20 + 20 + 9 + 12 + 8 + 20 = 89 |
NOXI still leads, 96 to 89; the gap shrinks from 15 to 7 because Copilot leads on the criterion she weights more. Hannah keeps Microsoft 365 Personal and uses Copilot for updates inside her clients' files; NOXI builds the researched decks, with source lines on slides with figures, and the Arabic decks, with right-to-left slides. She sets a review date of 1 January 2027, the day after Microsoft's Business promotion ends. Your weights will differ: write down the jobs you pay for, re-weight, and recompute.
Here are three slides from the deck NOXI built for this article's worked example, unedited.

Where NOXI fits
NOXI is our pick for a free editable PowerPoint with a source line on every slide with figures, right-to-left Arabic layouts, and decks built from files beyond one Word document.
Describe your topic and NOXI builds the full deck; you can review the outline first or generate straight away, and watch each slide being built. When you start from a prompt, NOXI researches the topic on the web first, and slides with figures carry a source line linking to where each number came from. NOXI adds images where a slide needs one, and twelve chart types are built from your data or from researched figures; you can edit the numbers inside NOXI.
Upload a PDF, Word document, Excel or CSV file, PowerPoint or image, up to 200 MB, and NOXI turns it into a structured deck; it can also beautify, restructure, complete or reformat a deck you already have. Invite people by email or link to edit together in real time, and restore earlier versions.
Three prompts for a NOXI deck
"Keep every slide's text, numbers and order. Give the deck a consistent layout and type hierarchy, use [brand colour] as the accent, add images where a slide needs one, and make every title a full-sentence finding of no more than two lines."
"Create a 10-slide deck on [topic] for [audience]. Research the topic first, put a source line on every slide with a figure, and end with the decision, the owner and the review date."
"Turn slide [number] into a two-column table of [option A] and [option B], shorten every title to one line, then export the deck as PowerPoint."
Build it: beautify a Copilot deck in NOXI
To give a Copilot draft a designed finish, attach the .pptx in NOXI, choose Beautify my deck, let NOXI rebuild the layout while it keeps the content, edit by chat, then download an editable PowerPoint or a PDF. Our scored guide to AI that makes a PowerPoint look better compares this route with other redesign tools. One flow, six steps:
Step 1 — Save the Copilot draft as a PowerPoint file
Finish the draft in PowerPoint with Copilot, check every number against its source, and save it as a .pptx. Sign in to NOXI with a free account; no card is needed.
Step 2 — Choose Beautify my deck and attach the file
On the NOXI Home screen, choose Beautify my deck and attach your presentation. NOXI accepts PowerPoint files up to 200 MB.
Step 3 — Add a short brief
Paste Prompt 1, or name the audience, your brand colour and the look you want. Add your logo and brand colour so every slide carries them.
Step 4 — Let NOXI rebuild the design
NOXI keeps every slide's content, slide count and order, facts and numbers, and improves layout, hierarchy, typography, spacing, colour and imagery. You watch each slide being built.
Step 5 — Edit by chat or on the slide
Ask the AI to change one slide or the whole deck in plain language, click any element and tell it what to change, edit text right on the slide, or edit a chart's numbers inside NOXI.
Step 6 — Download, present or share
Download the new deck as an editable PowerPoint (.pptx) with real text boxes and embedded fonts, or as a PDF, free and with no watermark. You can also present full-screen or share a view-only or edit link.
Copilot in PowerPoint and NOXI vs Copilot: FAQ
- Is Copilot in PowerPoint free?
- No. Microsoft says Copilot in PowerPoint "isn't included with the free version of PowerPoint". It comes with Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, Premium and Pro, from $9.99 a month, or with a work Copilot licence. Microsoft offers a one-month trial of Personal, Family and Premium, checked on 26 October 2026.
- How do I get Copilot in PowerPoint?
- Subscribe to Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, Premium or Pro on a personal account, or ask your organisation for a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence, such as the Copilot Business add-on at $18 per user a month paid yearly until 31 December 2026. Then open PowerPoint and select the Copilot button in the lower-right corner.
- Why is Copilot not showing in my PowerPoint?
- Look in the lower-right corner first: Microsoft moved Copilot into one Dynamic Action Button there. If it is missing, install Office updates, refresh your licence under File, Account, check that a business account is not on the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel, and turn on two privacy settings for connected experiences.
- Can Copilot make a PowerPoint on iPhone?
- Not according to Microsoft's pages. Microsoft says Copilot in PowerPoint is currently available on iPad, along with Mac and Windows, for an eligible subscription. On iPhone and Android phones it summarises a presentation shared with you and answers questions about it. Android tablets are not on Microsoft's list.
- Does Copilot in PowerPoint work on Mac?
- Yes. Microsoft's edit page, last updated October 2026, says Copilot, including Brand Kit, is available in PowerPoint for Windows, Mac and the web. If the button is missing on a Mac, update Office for Mac, then use About, More Info and Refresh License, and check the two privacy settings in Preferences.
- Can Copilot create a presentation from a PDF?
- On a work account, yes: Microsoft says Copilot for work users can also use a PDF, and encrypted files are included. On home plans Copilot builds a deck from a single Word file, ideally under 24 MB. Since July 2026, Agent Mode on desktop can also take an attached image when creating a presentation.
- Does Copilot in PowerPoint support Arabic?
- Arabic is on Microsoft's language list for Copilot prompts and responses, for work and personal accounts, but Copilot's pages say nothing about right-to-left slide layout. PowerPoint itself handles right-to-left text, so start from a right-to-left template. Microsoft also says quality is expected to be highest in English.
- Is Copilot Pro still available?
- No. Microsoft says Copilot Pro is no longer available for purchase, and support for existing subscribers ended on 1 August 2026. Microsoft points former Copilot Pro users to Microsoft 365 Premium, $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year in the US, which includes Copilot in PowerPoint and the other Microsoft 365 apps.
- Does Copilot train on my slides?
- Microsoft says no. On home plans, prompts, responses and file contents used with Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps aren't used to train foundation models. On work plans, prompts, responses and data accessed through Microsoft Graph aren't used to train foundation models either. Optional feedback you send may be used to improve Copilot.
- What's the difference between Copilot and NOXI?
- Copilot works inside PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 users; NOXI is a free AI presentation maker that exports an editable PowerPoint. On seven printed rules (26 October 2026) NOXI scores 98 and Copilot 83. Copilot leads on where it runs; NOXI leads on sources on slides, its free plan, imports and Arabic layouts.
