What is Claude — guide cover: Anthropic's AI assistant in 2026, one assistant across chat, files, design, code, the browser and Microsoft 365, with plans from $0 to $200 a month

Disclosure: NOXI publishes this guide. It is not affiliated with Anthropic, it appears only in the presentation section near the end, and every fact about Anthropic's products below comes from Anthropic's own pages, opened on 24 October 2026.

Quick answer: Claude is the AI assistant made by Anthropic, a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. You can use it free on the web, desktop and phone; Pro costs $20 a month, or $17 a month billed annually, and adds Claude Code, Research, Claude in Chrome and the Microsoft 365 add-ins. You must be 18 or older.

In 2026 Claude is less a single chat box than a set of places to work: a chat that writes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files, a design tool, a coding agent, a browser extension and add-ins inside Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. This guide explains what Claude is and who makes it, what each plan includes and costs, where it runs, how its usage limits and privacy settings work, what it does not do, and how to start. Every plan detail, price, setting name and date comes from Anthropic's own pages, opened on 24 October 2026; where Anthropic's wording matters, it is quoted.

In short

  • What it is"A large language model (LLM) built by Anthropic", in Anthropic's words, used through a chat that can search the web, read your files and create documents.
  • Who owns itAnthropic, a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco; it raised $65 billion in May 2026 at a $965 billion post-money valuation.
  • PlansFree $0; Pro $20 a month or $200 a year; Max $100 or $200 a month; Team $20–$125 per seat a month; Enterprise from US$20 per seat plus usage.
  • Free planWeb search, file creation, memory, connectors, Artifacts and Claude Design, Slides and Docs; Claude Code, Research, Chrome and Microsoft 365 need a paid plan.
  • Limits and privacyUsage resets on a rolling five-hour window, with weekly limits on paid plans; training is opt-out through the "Help Improve our AI models" setting.
  • Rules18 or older, in a supported country; Claude makes diagrams and charts but "doesn't generate photos or illustrations the way image-generation tools do".

The first two numbers describe the company, the next three the product, and the last one how many Americans use it: Claude is a large business, but in the United States far fewer adults use it than use ChatGPT or Gemini.

What is Claude?

Claude is an AI assistant: you type or speak a request in plain language, and it answers, writes, analyses files, searches the web, runs code and creates documents. Anthropic's help centre defines it in one line: "Claude is a large language model (LLM) built by Anthropic." [1] The same article lists three ways in: claude.ai in a web browser, Claude Desktop for Mac or Windows, and Claude for iOS or Android [1].

Definition What is Claude? Claude is the AI assistant made by Anthropic: a large language model you use through a chat on the web, a desktop app or a phone app. It answers questions, writes and edits text, reads uploaded files, searches the web, runs code and creates Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files. A free plan exists; paid plans add usage and tools.

A large language model is software trained on a very large amount of text so that it can predict and generate language. In practice that means Claude does not look answers up the way a search engine does unless it uses its web search tool; it composes a reply, which is why it can write a whole report and also why its facts need checking against a source before they go into anything that matters.

What is Claude AI good for?

Claude is good for work that involves a lot of text, files or steps: reading long documents, drafting and editing, analysing spreadsheets, writing code and turning material into finished files. The documented features behind that answer are specific.

  • Long documents. Anthropic lists a context window of "Up to 1M" tokens on every plan, varying by model, so a long contract, a thesis or a set of reports can fit in one conversation [2][5].
  • Finished files. "Claude can create Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx), PowerPoint presentations (.pptx), Word documents (.docx), and PDF files", on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise [17].
  • Visual work. Claude Design creates "designs, interactive prototypes, one-pagers, and other visual work by chatting with Claude", on every plan [15].
  • Code. Claude Code takes on "a bug fix, test, or multi-day migration" from your terminal, IDE, Slack or the web, on paid plans [13].
  • Your own tools. Connectors link Claude to other apps; custom connectors work on every plan, with one on Free [18].

What it is used for follows from those: summarising and comparing documents, first drafts of reports and emails, spreadsheet analysis, research with sources, coding, and turning notes into a Word file, a workbook or a slide deck.

Who owns Claude? Anthropic, a public benefit corporation

Anthropic owns and makes Claude. Anthropic describes itself as "a public benefit corporation (PBC) headquartered in San Francisco, California" [8], and its company page says it is "dedicated to securing its benefits and mitigating its risks", meaning the benefits and risks of AI [7].

Definition What is Anthropic? Anthropic is the AI company that builds Claude. It is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco, a legal form that commits a company to a stated public purpose alongside profit; Anthropic's company page says it is dedicated to securing the benefits of AI and mitigating its risks.

Anthropic's own figures for 2026 show the scale. On 28 May 2026 it announced "$65 billion in Series H funding" at a "$965 billion post-money valuation", and said its "run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion" that month [6]. The same post mentions $15 billion of previously committed investment from cloud providers, including $5 billion from Amazon [6]. Run-rate revenue is a company's current revenue pace extended over a year, not a year of booked sales.

What is Anthropic, in one line?

Anthropic is the San Francisco public benefit corporation behind Claude, whose company page sums up its work as "AI research and products that put safety at the frontier" [7]. It sells Claude to individuals through the plans below, to organisations through Team and Enterprise, and to developers through its API.

What can Claude do? Every feature by plan

On the free plan Claude can chat, search the web, create files, run code, remember past conversations, connect to your apps and make Artifacts, designs, slides and documents; paid plans add more usage, Projects without the five-project cap, Research, Claude Code, Claude in Chrome and Claude for Microsoft 365. The table copies Anthropic's pricing page on 24 October 2026 [2].

Two rows deserve a note. Research is listed as its own paid feature, separate from the web search that every plan has [2]. And Team's training line differs in kind: the Team plan lists "No model training on your content by default", while individual plans give you an opt-out switch [2].

What can Claude do that ChatGPT can't?

On documented features, Claude's clearest differences from ChatGPT are a larger published context window on the about-$20 plan (up to 1M tokens against 256K on ChatGPT Plus), a custom connector even on the free plan, and an annual Pro price of $200; ChatGPT, for its part, generates images and has a cheaper entry plan, Go at $8 a month. Those ChatGPT figures come from our shared score table, checked on 22–24 October 2026 [27], and the full head-to-head is in our ChatGPT vs Claude comparison.

Answer quality is not on that list on purpose: no vendor's official page documents it in a form that can be compared, so any claim that one "writes better" is an opinion. If you care about writing, try the same prompt in both free plans.

Claude plans and prices in 2026

Claude has three individual plans (Free at $0, Pro at $20 a month or $200 a year, Max at $100 or $200 a month), a Team plan for 2 to 150 people at $20 to $125 per seat a month, Enterprise at US$20 per seat a month plus usage at API rates, and an institution-wide Education plan. US prices, from Anthropic's pages on 24 October 2026 [2][3][24]:

PlanPrice (US)BillingUsage and extras

Prices exclude tax [2], and Anthropic adds that "Mobile pricing may vary depending on your app platform", so a subscription bought inside the iOS or Android app can cost a different amount [3]. The Max card lists "$100 to $200/month in API credits to build on the Claude Platform" [2]. Max is billed monthly only; annual billing exists for Pro and Team, and Enterprise is annual only [2].

Claude's plans as a price ladder in US dollars a month on 24 October 2026: Free $0; Pro $17 on annual billing or $20 monthly; Max 5x $100; Max 20x $200; Team Standard $20 per seat annual or $25 monthly; Team Premium $100 per seat annual or $125 monthly; Enterprise US$20 per seat plus usage at API rates.
Claude's individual plans step from $0 to $200 a month; Team seats run from $20 to $125.

Claude Free vs Pro: what the $20 buys

Pro adds at least five times the free plan's usage per session plus features Free does not have, among them Claude Code, Research, Claude in Chrome, Claude for Microsoft 365, Projects without the five-project cap, "Hand off and schedule tasks" and "More Claude models" [2]. Free already includes web search, file creation, memory, connectors, Artifacts and Claude Design, Slides and Docs, so a light user who mainly chats and writes may never need Pro. For how Pro compares with other $20 plans over a year, see our AI subscription comparison.

Claude pricing in the UK, India, Canada and Australia

This guide prints US prices only, because those are the prices Anthropic's US pricing page shows; for your local currency, check claude.com/pricing and the checkout from your country, and the app store if you subscribe on a phone, since Anthropic says mobile pricing may vary [2][3]. All four countries are on Anthropic's list of supported regions [23].

Worked example: what a four-person firm pays for Claude

Paying a year up front saves 16.7% on Pro and 20% on Team Standard. Per unit of usage, Max 20x is the cheapest individual plan, while Max 5x costs more than annual Pro and the same as Pro billed monthly ($240). The example below runs those numbers for a fictional firm.

Example Silva & Partners Accounting (fictional). Tomás Silva runs a four-person accounting practice and wants Claude for client spreadsheets, letters and Word reports. He compares one person on Pro or Max with the whole team on Team Standard, using Anthropic's US prices of 24 October 2026.
OptionArithmeticCost a yearWhat it tells Tomás
Pro, annual$200 billed up front$200Saves $40 against monthly: $40 ÷ $240 = 16.7%
Pro, monthly12 × $20$240The flexible option: $240 per unit, the same as Max 5x
Max 5x12 × $100 = $1,200; ÷ 5 usage units$1,200 ($240 per unit)Costs more per unit than annual Pro ($200)
Max 20x12 × $200 = $2,400; ÷ 20 usage units$2,400 ($120 per unit)The lowest price per unit among individual plans
Team Standard, 4 seats, annual4 × $20 × 12$960Saves $240 against monthly: $240 ÷ $1,200 = 20%
Team Standard, 4 seats, monthly4 × $25 × 12$1,200The same seats without the annual commitment

The "usage unit" is Pro's allowance per session: Anthropic says Max gives "5x or 20x the Pro plan's usage allowance, depending on your selected tier" [3]. Dividing the price by the multiple is arithmetic on Anthropic's stated multiples, not a promise of how much work each plan finishes, because Anthropic also says there is "no fixed message count" [2].

Bar chart of the yearly price of one unit of Claude Pro's session usage, fictional worked example: Max 5x $240 (12 × $100 ÷ 5), Pro on annual billing $200, Max 20x $120 (12 × $200 ÷ 20). Max 5x costs more per unit than annual Pro; Max 20x costs less.
Per unit of usage, Max 20x is cheapest and Max 5x costs more than annual Pro.

Tomás's decision: Team Standard for all four people on annual billing, $960 a year, because each person needs Claude for Excel, which is on paid plans only, and the firm wants shared billing and content that is not used for training by default [2][12]. He books a review for 1 July 2027.

Here are two slides from this article's worked example, as NOXI built them, unedited.

NOXI slide: Claude's price levels in US dollars, Free $0, Pro $17 a month on the annual plan or $20 monthly, Max $100 or $200 a month for 5x or 20x Pro usage, Team Standard $20 or $25 a seat, Team Premium $100 or $125 a seat.
The plans slide: every Claude price level and billing option, from claude.com/pricing on 24 October 2026.
NOXI slide: Team Standard for 4 seats costs $960 a year on annual billing against $1,200 billed monthly, a $240 saving, 20% of the monthly-billing cost; Pro for one seat is $200 a year annual or $240 billed monthly.
The worked example: what four seats cost a year on each billing option.

Where Claude works: apps, Chrome, Microsoft 365 and Claude Code

Claude runs on the web at claude.ai, in desktop apps for Mac and Windows, in iOS and Android apps, as a Chrome extension, inside Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook, and as the Claude Code coding agent; the browser, Microsoft 365 and coding surfaces need a paid plan [1][2]. Your usage across claude.ai, Claude Code and Claude Desktop draws from one shared limit [4].

Map of where Claude works in October 2026: on every plan, chat on web, desktop and mobile, file creation for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF, and Claude Design, Slides and Docs; on paid plans, Claude Code, Claude in Chrome and Claude for Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook (Outlook in beta).
Chat, files and design are on every plan; code, the browser and Microsoft 365 start at Pro.

The Claude app: desktop and mobile

The Claude app comes in three forms: claude.ai in any browser, Claude Desktop for Mac or Windows, and Claude for iOS or Android [1]. To log in, open claude.ai or the app and sign in to your account. In a chat you can upload up to 20 files, each up to 500 MB, and PDFs of up to 1,000 pages; images can be JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP [29].

Claude in Chrome

Claude in Chrome is a browser extension that reads the page you are signed in to and can click, type and fill in forms while you stay in control of each next step [11]. Anthropic's page states it is "Available on all paid plans" [11].

Claude for Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

Anthropic's page says "Claude works inside Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook": the first three are "generally available on all paid Claude plans", and Outlook is "in beta on all paid plans" [12]. In Word and Excel, Claude's changes show as tracked edits or highlighted cells for you to review [9]. For other AI tools that work on a PowerPoint file, our guide to AI tools that improve a PowerPoint scores nine.

What is Claude Code?

Claude Code is Anthropic's coding agent: you hand it "a bug fix, test, or multi-day migration", and it builds a plan, asks clarifying questions and works through tasks that can run for hours or days [13]. You steer it from your terminal, IDE, Slack or the web; it comes with a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan or a Claude Console account [13], and its use counts toward the same limit as claude.ai [4].

Claude Duet: a research preview

Claude Duet, announced on 21 October 2026, is "a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent"; a research preview is available by waitlist, "starting with US Pro and Max subscribers" [16]. Treat it as a preview, not a plan feature.

Cowork, Claude Design and Slides: making things, not just chatting

Claude can now produce finished work inside the conversation: Cowork-style tasks that run and can be scheduled, designs and slide decks through Claude Design, Slides and Docs, and Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files through file creation. Two of them are changing now: Cowork is merging with chat, and Claude Design's standalone site is closing.

What is Claude Cowork? Now "just Claude"

Cowork was Claude's mode for handing off longer tasks; Anthropic has now merged it with chat. Its help article is titled "Claude Cowork and chat are one Claude" and describes "a new way to use both Claude Cowork and chat that removes the distinction between the two products", rolling out "starting with Pro and Max plans on web, desktop, and mobile"; on Team (in beta) and Enterprise it is available where the unified Chat and Cowork setting is turned on [14]. Anthropic's product overview says "Claude Cowork and chat are now integrated within Claude.ai" [9], and the Pro plan lists "Hand off and schedule tasks" [2].

Claude Design, Slides and Docs

Claude Design "lets you create designs, interactive prototypes, one-pagers, and other visual work by chatting with Claude", and Anthropic says it is "available on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, and it's on by default" [15]. Two dates matter: on Enterprise it turned on by default on 15 October 2026, and "The standalone version at claude.ai/design closes on December 14, 2026" [15]. Our Claude Design guide covers what it makes, how to use it and how it exports.

Files, Artifacts and connectors

File creation is on every plan through the "Code execution and file creation" setting, called "Create and edit files" in the newer settings layout [17]. "Create Artifacts" is listed on every plan as well [2]. Connectors link Claude to other apps; custom connectors "are available on Claude, Cowork, and Claude Desktop for users on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans", and "Free users are limited to one custom connector" [18]. To add one on Pro or Max you go to Customize > Connectors, then "+ Add" and "Add custom connector" [18]; our guide to Claude connectors and MCP walks through it.

Claude models explained: four families, each dated

Anthropic's product overview lists four Claude model families: "Mythos (including Fable)", "Opus", "Sonnet" and "Haiku" [9]. Which ones you can choose depends on the plan, and Anthropic announced new versions in all four families between 15 September and 7 October 2026 [10], so the names below are dated to the page they came from.

FamilyNewest announcement on anthropic.com/newsPlan access on claude.com/pricing (24 Oct 2026)
Mythos and Fable"Introducing Claude Mythos and Fable 5.1", 15 Sep 2026Fable: not on Free; Pro through usage credits; Max at "50% of weekly limits"
Opus"Introducing Claude Opus 5.5", 22 Sep 2026Not on Free; included from Pro
Sonnet"Introducing Claude Sonnet 5.5", 28 Sep 2026Every plan, Free included
Haiku"Introducing Claude Haiku 5.5", 7 Oct 2026Every plan, Free included

Sources: model names as listed on claude.com/product/overview and the announcement titles and dates as listed on anthropic.com/news, both opened on 24 October 2026 [9][10]; plan access from the pricing table [2]. Anthropic's help article on context windows lists Fable 5.1, Opus 5.5, Opus 5, Sonnet 5.5, Sonnet 5 and Haiku 5.5 at 1M tokens in chat, older models at 500K and every other model at 200K (as listed on support.claude.com article 8606394, 24 October 2026) [5].

This guide makes no claim about which model is smartest: Anthropic's pricing and help pages document access and context size, not quality. For most people the practical choice is the default model in the app, and a paid plan if you want Opus or Fable, which the free plan does not include [2].

Claude usage limits: five-hour sessions and weekly limits

Claude's usage limits reset on a rolling five-hour session window, and paid plans add weekly limits that reset once a week; there is no fixed message count, because usage depends on the length of the conversation, the model and the features you use [2][4]. Everything you do in claude.ai, Claude Code and Claude Desktop counts toward the same limit [4].

Definition What is a usage limit? A usage limit is the amount of work a Claude plan allows before you must wait or pay for more. Claude uses two: a session limit that resets every five hours and, on paid plans, a weekly limit that resets once a week. Plans differ in allowance, and Anthropic publishes multiples rather than message counts.

Anthropic's help article puts it in two phrases: "a session limit that resets every five hours" and "weekly limits that reset once every week" [4]. The multiples are on the pricing page: Pro gives "at least 5x more usage per 5-hour session than Free", Max gives 5x or 20x Pro, Team Standard gives more than Pro and Team Premium 5x Standard [2]. Anthropic adds that it "may limit your usage in other ways, such as weekly and monthly caps", to manage capacity and keep access fair [2].

When you hit a limit you can wait for the reset, move to a higher plan, or, on paid plans, turn on usage credits to keep working at standard API rates; Settings > Usage shows where you stand [2]. A long conversation with many attachments uses more than a short question, so starting a new chat for a new task stretches a session further.

Definition What is a context window? A context window is the amount of text, measured in tokens, that an AI model can take into account at once: your messages, its replies and any files in the conversation. Claude's pricing page lists "Up to 1M" tokens on every plan, varying by model; other models have 500K or 200K.

Is Claude safe? Privacy settings, training and retention

On Claude's individual plans, Anthropic uses your chats for model training only if the "Help Improve our AI models" setting is on, Incognito chats are never used for training, and Team and Enterprise content is not used for training by default [2][19][21]. Check the setting before you paste anything sensitive.

The training setting: "Help Improve our AI models"

The switch is called "Help Improve our AI models", under Settings, then Privacy, on desktop, in the browser and on mobile (Anthropic privacy article updated 3 August 2026) [19]. Anthropic's retention article (updated 1 July 2026) still calls the same choice Model Improvement [20]. With the setting off, Anthropic says "we will not use any new chats and coding sessions you have with Claude for future model training" [19]; data already in a training run that has started, or in a model already trained, is not affected [19].

How long Claude keeps your data

Deleted chats are "Deleted from our back-end storage systems within 30 days" [20]. With the training setting on, Anthropic may keep data "in a de-identified format for up to 5 years in our model training pipelines" [20]. Feedback such as a thumbs up or down is kept 5 years, and chats flagged by safety systems keep inputs and outputs up to 2 years and classification scores up to 7 years (privacy article updated 1 July 2026) [20].

Incognito chats

"Incognito chats are temporary conversations that aren't saved to your chat history or to Claude's memory", "Incognito chats are not used for training", and they are retained for 30 days by default; they are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise [21]. For the same settings in ChatGPT, Gemini and others, see does ChatGPT train on your data.

How old do you have to be to use Claude?

You must be 18 or older. Anthropic's help article states: "You must be at least 18 years old to use our services." (updated 16 September 2026) [1]. Universities can buy an institution-wide Education plan for students, faculty and staff, which includes a learning mode that "asks questions that help you find the answers yourself" [24].

Where is Claude available?

Claude is offered only in the countries on Anthropic's Supported Regions Policy, which covers its apps including Claude.ai, Claude Code and Cowork [23]. On 24 October 2026 the list included the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia; China and Russia were not on it [23].

Safety also means checking answers. Claude composes its replies, so verify figures, quotes and legal or medical statements against a primary source before you use them, and open the sources behind any answer that relies on web search.

Can Claude generate images? What Claude doesn't do

No, not photos or illustrations. Anthropic's help centre states: "Claude doesn't generate photos or illustrations the way image-generation tools do." (updated 16 March 2026) [22]. It can, however, "build diagrams, charts, and interactive visuals directly in your conversation", made with HTML and SVG and in beta on web and desktop [22].

That makes Claude a good fit for a chart, a flow diagram, a timeline or an interactive calculator, and the wrong tool for a product photo or a cover illustration. For pictures, use an assistant whose plan lists image generation: Google's Gemini app lists "Image generation and editing" from its free plan [26], and ChatGPT lists image generation and editing on Plus [27]. Claude can still read images: you can upload JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP files and ask about them [29].

Video generation is not listed on any Claude plan either [2]. Voice mode, which every plan has, is a spoken conversation with Claude [2].

How to use Claude: the first five steps

To start with Claude, open claude.ai or the app, set your privacy choice, give Claude a real task with a file, keep related work in a Project, and watch your usage. Each step takes a minute and saves trouble later.

  1. Open Claude where you work. Go to claude.ai in a browser, or install Claude Desktop for Mac or Windows or the iOS or Android app, and sign up; you must be 18 or older [1].Pass: you can start a chat on the device you use most.
  2. Set the training switch first. Open Settings, then Privacy, and decide on "Help Improve our AI models" before you paste anything private [19].Pass: the switch is where you want it, and you know Incognito exists for one-off sensitive chats.
  3. Give it a real task with a file. Upload a document or spreadsheet and ask for something specific: "Summarise this contract in 10 bullet points and list every date."Pass: the answer cites parts of your file, and you checked two facts against it.
  4. Ask for a finished file. Ask Claude to save the result as a Word document, an Excel workbook, a PowerPoint deck or a PDF; file creation is on every plan [17].Pass: the file opens in your own software.
  5. Organise and pace your work. Keep related chats and files in a Project (up to 5 on Free) and check Settings > Usage when you work in long sessions [2].Pass: you know when your five-hour session resets.

A good first prompt names the audience, the format and the length: "Write a one-page summary of the attached report for our finance director, in plain English, with the three numbers she needs first." Vague requests get generic answers; specific ones get usable drafts.

Claude vs ChatGPT vs Gemini in one table

Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini all have free plans, $20-class paid plans, file uploads, voice and a training opt-out with a chat mode excluded from training; they differ most on images (Claude has none), entry price (Gemini and ChatGPT have plans under $10) and published context windows. The table is unscored; Claude figures are from Anthropic's pages and Gemini prices from Google's, opened on 24 October 2026, and the ChatGPT figures from our shared score table, checked 22–24 October 2026 [2][26][27][28].

On our shared rubric of seven documented criteria, Gemini scores 94, ChatGPT 90 and Claude 85; Claude leads both on custom connectors, leads ChatGPT on published context window (it ties Gemini there), and trails both on the free plan, the entry price and the tool list of the about-$20 plan. The scoring, arithmetic and sources are in ChatGPT vs Claude and Claude vs Gemini. Usage shares are from Pew Research Center's February 2026 survey of US adults [25].

If your goal is a presentation

Claude can make a slide deck itself: Claude Slides and Claude Design are on every plan, and file creation saves a PowerPoint (.pptx) [2][15][17]. Our Claude Design guide covers that route and its exports.

Many people use Claude for the thinking and end up with a Word report or a PDF rather than slides: a rollout plan, a client memo, a research summary. Turning that document into a designed deck is a separate job. NOXI is our pick for turning a Word or PDF report into a designed, editable deck: you upload the file, it builds structured slides from your content, and you edit any slide by chat. Our Word to PowerPoint guide compares the other ways to do it.

3 AI prompts for a Claude rollout deck

Use them in NOXI after attaching the report, or in any AI tool that accepts files. Replace the brackets; the tool should use your figures and add none of its own.

Prompt 1 · The rollout deck from your report

Create a 9-slide deck titled [Rolling out Claude to the team] for [Silva & Partners Accounting], [4] people, from the attached [rollout plan (Word)]. Slide order: title and date [16 November 2026]; what Claude is and who makes it; what we will use [file creation for Excel and Word, Projects per client, Claude for Excel]; the plans with US prices [Free $0; Pro $17 a month on annual billing; Max from $100 a month; Team Standard $20 per seat a month on annual billing]; our cost [Team Standard, 4 seats: $960 a year annual vs $1,200 monthly, saving $240]; usage limits [five-hour sessions, weekly limits on paid plans]; privacy [client files only in the Team plan; on personal accounts, Help Improve our AI models off]; rules [18 or older; every figure checked against the source file]; start [1 December 2026] and review [1 July 2027]. Use every number exactly as written. Titles as full-sentence findings.

Prompt 2 · Add the cost comparison slide

After the plans slide, add one slide titled [Annual billing saves us $240 a year] with a two-row table: Team Standard monthly [4 × $25 × 12 = $1,200] and annual [4 × $20 × 12 = $960], and one line: [annual saves 20%]. Change nothing else.

Prompt 3 · A one-slide summary for the partners

Make a 1-slide summary of this deck for [the partners' meeting]: the decision [Team Standard, 4 seats, annual], the cost [$960 a year], the two rules [18 or older; check every figure against the source] and the review date [1 July 2027]. Keep every number exactly as in the full deck.

Build it in NOXI: turn a report into a designed deck

This flow uses one Home action, Create from file. NOXI is free, with no card and no watermark; uploading files needs a free account, and a full deck uses about 25 of the 1,000 monthly credits.

Step 1: Save the report as Word or PDF

Ask Claude to write your rollout plan and save it as a Word document (.docx) or a PDF, then download the file. Anthropic says file creation is available on every Claude plan, Free included.

Step 2: Choose Create from file and upload it

On the Home screen, choose Create from file and upload the .docx or PDF, up to 200 MB. Paste Prompt 1 so the deck follows your nine-slide order and uses your figures exactly.

Step 3: Review the outline first

Review the outline before generation and check that it runs from what the tool is to the plans, your cost, the limits, privacy, the rules and the review date. Then generate and watch each slide being built from the content of your file.

Step 4: Check every price and date

Compare each price, seat count and date with the report and with Anthropic's pricing page. Edit text right on the slide, edit chart numbers in the chart data editor, or ask the AI in plain English or Arabic to correct a figure on one slide or across the whole deck.

Step 5: Add the cost slide and your brand

Paste Prompt 2 to add the annual-versus-monthly comparison, click any element and tell the AI what to change, and add your logo and brand colour. Use Prompt 3 for the one-slide partners' summary.

Step 6: Export, present or share

Download an editable PowerPoint (.pptx) with real text boxes and embedded fonts, or a PDF, present full-screen straight from the browser, or share a view-only link before the meeting.

Frequently asked questions

What is Claude AI?
Claude is the AI assistant made by Anthropic, which describes it as a large language model. You use it through a chat on the web, a Mac or Windows app or an iOS or Android app. It answers questions, writes, reads your files, searches the web, runs code and creates Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files.
Who owns Claude?
Anthropic owns and builds Claude. Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco, California. On 28 May 2026 it announced 65 billion dollars in Series H funding at a 965 billion dollar post-money valuation, and said its run-rate revenue had crossed 47 billion dollars that month.
Is Claude free?
Yes, there is a free plan at 0 dollars with web search, file creation, memory, connectors, Artifacts and Claude Design, Slides and Docs. Usage is limited per five-hour session. Pro costs 20 dollars a month or 200 dollars a year and adds more usage, Claude Code, Research, Claude in Chrome and Microsoft 365.
What can Claude do that ChatGPT can't?
On documented features, Claude publishes a larger context window on its 20-dollar plan, up to 1 million tokens against 256,000 on ChatGPT Plus, allows a custom connector on its free plan and offers annual Pro billing at 200 dollars. ChatGPT, in turn, generates images and has a cheaper Go plan at 8 dollars a month.
How old do you have to be to use Claude?
You must be at least 18 years old. Anthropic's help centre states it in one line, in an article updated on 16 September 2026. Universities can buy Anthropic's institution-wide Education plan for their students, faculty and staff, and Claude is offered only in the countries on Anthropic's supported regions list.
Can Claude generate images?
No photos or illustrations. Anthropic says Claude does not generate them the way image-generation tools do. It can build diagrams, charts and interactive visuals in the conversation, made with HTML and SVG, and it can read images you upload. For generated pictures, use an assistant whose plan lists image generation, such as Gemini or ChatGPT.
What is Claude Cowork?
Cowork was Claude's mode for handing off longer tasks, and Anthropic has merged it with chat into one Claude. Its help article says the change removes the distinction between the two products. It is rolling out first on Pro and Max on web, desktop and mobile, and on Team, in beta, and Enterprise where the unified setting is on.
What are Claude's usage limits?
Claude's limits reset on a rolling five-hour session window, and paid plans add weekly limits that reset once a week. There is no fixed message count. Pro gives at least five times Free's usage per session, Max five or twenty times Pro's, and usage in claude.ai, Claude Code and the desktop app shares one pool.
Does Claude use my chats for training?
Only if the Help Improve our AI models setting is on, under Settings and Privacy, on Free, Pro and Max. With it on, de-identified data can stay in training pipelines up to five years. Incognito chats are never used for training, and Team plans say content is not used for training by default.
Can Claude make a presentation?
Yes. Claude Slides and Claude Design are on every plan, Free included, and Claude can create a PowerPoint file through its file creation feature, also available on every plan. If you already have a Word or PDF report from Claude, a dedicated deck tool can turn that document into designed slides you then edit.

Sources & methodology

How this guide was made: every Claude plan, price, feature, setting name, retention period and date comes from Anthropic's own pages (claude.com, support.claude.com, privacy.claude.com and anthropic.com), opened on 24 October 2026; "updated" dates are the ones each page showed that day, and help articles that showed only "updated over a week ago" carry no date here. Gemini's prices and context window come from Google's pages opened the same day; ChatGPT figures come from our shared score table, checked on 22–24 October 2026. Prices are US list prices before tax. Model names appear only as Anthropic lists them. Tomás Silva and Silva & Partners Accounting are fictional. This guide is an explainer, not a hands-on test or legal advice.
