Disclosure: NOXI publishes this page. It is a document maker, outside the Canva vs Microsoft Designer head-to-head, and it appears once, after the verdict, as a reference row scored on the same rules: 68 on the poster rules and 75 on the invitation rules, below Canva and below Adobe Express on both. That is why the rules, the points and the source of every cell are printed.
Canva vs Microsoft Designer: on seven printed poster rules checked on 4 November 2026, Canva scores 90 and Microsoft Designer 48. On seven invitation rules it is 80 against 48. Designer's own FAQ calls it "free to use" and "licensed for personal, non-commercial use", while Canva's AI terms allow "any lawful purpose".
Two dated launches make this a November question. Canva released Canva Craft, its first image model, on 22 October 2026 for "all Canva users globally", and Canva Brush, "a new vision-language model for design", on 29 October 2026 for Canva Pro subscribers [15][16]. Microsoft Designer runs as a standalone web app with new Invitations, Banners and Posters tiles [22], and its FAQ still carries the sentence that settles most of this comparison: "Designer is licensed for personal, non-commercial use with your Microsoft account." [18]
Every Canva and Designer cell comes from the two vendors' own pages, read signed out on 4 November 2026 in real browsers, on the rules of our best AI poster maker and best AI invitation maker rankings. Designer's real strengths are printed too.
Canva vs Microsoft Designer at a glance (2026)
Canva leads Microsoft Designer by 42 points on posters and by 32 on invitations, and the largest single piece of the poster gap is one licence sentence worth 15 points.
| Product | Poster rules (Q) | Invitation rules (V) | Why, in one line | Free and entry price, as served | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Canva | 90 | 80 | A design from one prompt, PDF Print with bleed and crop marks, a right-to-left mirror, AI output for "any lawful purpose" | Free "0 UAE dirhams", Pro "48 UAE dirhams /month" on the default page; "US$ 0" and "US$ 18" with ?countryCode=us | canva.com, headless Chrome and browser pane · opened 4 November 2026, 11:30 to 11:39 UTC [1][2][7][13][14] |
| Microsoft Designer | 48 | 48 | Free monthly credits, Rewrite on a selected text box and generative erase, but image downloads only and a personal licence | Free "with monthly credits"; Microsoft 365 Personal "$9.99 /month" for up to 4X more credits (en-us page) | support.microsoft.com and microsoft.com/en-us, headless Chrome and browser pane · opened 4 November 2026, 11:33 to 11:42 UTC [18][19][20] |
Both totals are plain points out of 100 on rules printed in full below. They measure documented capability, not design quality. In the two sister rankings the same cells put Canva first of eleven on posters and second of twelve on invitations, and Designer eleventh and seventh.
Who should pick what
The gap matters less than one question: is the design for a business or for you. Each line rests on one documented fact.
- If you need designs a business will publish → Canva, because its AI Product Terms say "You may use your Output for any lawful purpose" [7].
- If you need personal cards and invitations on free monthly credits → Microsoft Designer, because its product page offers "Create with Designer for free" "with monthly credits", and its FAQ licenses it "for personal, non-commercial use" [19][18].
- If you need a poster a print shop can trim → Canva, because it documents "PDF Print: For printing with a resolution of 300 dpi, with bleed, crop marks" and sells Canva Print for posters and invitation cards [2][3][11].
- If you need one text box rewritten or one object erased by asking, without paying → Microsoft Designer, because its Free card covers AI edits on monthly credits and its FAQ documents Rewrite and "Erase object"; Canva's Magic Edit is Pro [18][19][6].
- If you need invitation replies you can track → Adobe Express, because its event help says "Guests can RSVP through the published link, and you can track responses", available worldwide except Canada and Australia, on a page that names no plan [26].
- If you need a poster or invitation that reads right to left in Arabic, from one request → NOXI, because it makes both formats with right-to-left pages and mirrored layouts and exports them as PDF (a reference row here) [30].
Key numbers

What Canva and Microsoft Designer are in November 2026
Canva is a design platform that launched two AI models of its own in October 2026, Craft for images on 22 October and Brush for design edits on Pro on 29 October; Microsoft Designer is a credit-based AI design app on the web, on phones and inside Microsoft apps.

Canva Brush and Canva Craft, with their dates
Craft, dated 22 October 2026, is "our first state-of-the-art image generation model", and "Canva Craft is available starting today to all Canva users globally." It sits in Dream Lab, offers more than 30 aspect ratios, and "Craft can create text in 55 languages." Its performance claims are Canva's own [16].
Brush, dated 29 October 2026, states its plan in one sentence: "Starting today, Brush is powering supported design edits in Canva AI for Canva Pro subscribers, with expanded availability coming soon." Canva says it is up to 69% faster and 46% cheaper per edit task than its previous design agent, both Canva's internal figures, and that "Everything Brush creates is fully editable" [15]. Neither launch moves a cell: Canva's one-part edit cell was already full on Magic Edit, also Pro, and the rules never score image quality.
Microsoft Designer today
Designer is live. Its web app opened signed out at 11:42 UTC with Invitations, Banners and Posters tiles marked "New" [22]. The Welcome page dates the end of the legacy editor, with its brand kits and stock videos, "Starting October 20th, 2025", though the FAQ still describes AI brand kits for personal groups [20][18]. Boosts are gone ("every image is now automatically boosted"), free use runs on monthly credits, and paid Microsoft 365 plans "provide up to 4X more credits" to create in Designer and "to access Designer through Copilot in Microsoft apps like Word and PowerPoint" [19]. No Microsoft page we opened says Designer is retired or renamed, and Microsoft's list of changes to the Copilot app does not name it [24].
How we scored Canva and Microsoft Designer
We re-applied the rules of our best AI poster maker and best AI invitation maker rankings on 4 November 2026, unchanged, so every cell here equals the same cell on those pages [23].

The half-mark rule. A cell gets a middle level only when an official page prints what that rule's middle line describes, and every middle cell below says why it is not full. A silent page gets the low level, scored as silence, never as a verdict on the company. Where two pages of one vendor disagree, both are printed. The tie chains: posters Q1, then Q4, then Q2, then Q6, then alphabetical order; invitations V1, then V2, then V3, then V4, then alphabetical order. No tie arises here. The heaviest rules are Q1 and Q4, and V1, V2 and V3, at 20 points each.
What changed recently
Four dated movements on the two vendors' own pages, with the date each page prints and the time we read it.

| "Starting October 20th, 2025" | Microsoft | Designer's legacy editor deprecated, all users moved to the new editor, brand kits and stock videos removed | support.microsoft.com, Welcome to Microsoft Designer, headless Chrome, 4 November 2026, 11:33 UTC |
One change carries no date, so none is printed: on 4 November Canva's pricing page served UAE dirhams by default to a UAE visitor, where it had served US dollars two days earlier in our own record.
Microsoft Designer vs Canva on the seven poster rules
Canva scores 90 and Microsoft Designer 48 on the poster rules, a 42-point gap made of five rules, with the two level on free export and on editing one part by asking.

| Rule (points) | Canva | Microsoft Designer | Lead | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Q1 One prompt, editable text (20) | 20 Magic Design: "Start with a text prompt and generate high-quality, on-brand designs every time." | 10 Middle: "customizable layouts with imagery and text", but the FAQ warns text in generated images "may not be in the requested language", which is words drawn into the image | Canva +10 | [1][19][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:30 and 11:33 UTC |
| Q2 Print-ready export (15) | 15 "PDF Print: For printing with a resolution of 300 dpi, with bleed, crop marks", and Canva Print for posters | 8 Middle: an image download, "upscaled up to 4K resolution"; no PDF or print option documented | Canva +7 | [2][3][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:30 and 11:33 UTC |
| Q3 Poster sizes (10) | 10 Named sizes from "Smallest 8.5 × 11 in" to "Bus Stop 40 × 60 in", and custom dimensions on Free | 5 Middle: "Resize your design into a size that works for you", with no named poster sizes | Canva +5 | [4][13][19] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 to 11:39 UTC |
| Q4 Free export, no watermark (20) | 10 Middle: "Premium elements will have watermarks on your design if you're a Canva Free user." | 10 Middle: monthly credits, and "A subscription may be required for those who want to create more frequently." | Level | [5][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| Q5 Change one part by asking (10) | 10 Magic Edit: "Add, tweak, or replace images from a short prompt" (Pro) | 10 "select any text box that's already on your design or image and then select Rewrite"; "Erase object" for "specified areas" | Level | [6][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| Q6 Commercial use stated (15) | 15 AI Product Terms, effective 26 June 2026: "You may use your Output for any lawful purpose" | 0 "Designer is licensed for personal, non-commercial use with your Microsoft account." | Canva +15 | [7][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| Q7 Right to left (10) | 10 Translate: "Mirror page to match text direction to support right-to-left languages" (Pro) | 5 Middle: "more than 80 languages on the web" (17 July 2024), none named, no right-to-left statement | Canva +5 | [8][21] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| Total | 90 | 48 | Canva +42 | Sum of the cells above |
The arithmetic. Canva 20 + 15 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 15 + 10 = 90. Designer 10 + 8 + 5 + 10 + 10 + 0 + 5 = 48. The gap of 42 is Q1 plus 10, Q2 plus 7, Q3 plus 5, Q6 plus 15 and Q7 plus 5, level on Q4 and Q5.
Which is better, Canva or Microsoft Designer: rule by rule
Canva is better on five of the seven poster rules and level on two, and Designer leads on none, so "which is better" turns less on the score than on whether your design is allowed under Designer's licence at all.
One prompt. Canva's Magic Design returns editable designs, which its FAQ calls "templates"; that strict reading is printed below [1]. Designer's FAQ warns that text inside generated images "may not be in the requested language or may have spelling errors", which describes letters drawn into a picture [18].
Print. Canva documents its print format and sells printed posters [2][3], though its plan table marks "Export print-ready designs / as CMYK" as Pro [13]. Designer documents an image download and upscaling to 4K; no PDF appears on its pages [18].
Editing one part. Level, and a real Designer strength. Select a text box and choose Rewrite, and "AI will generate an alternative version of the text you selected"; or mark an area and let Erase object remove it [18]. Canva's Magic Edit and Brush are Pro [6][15].
Right to left. Canva's Translate mirrors a page for right-to-left languages, a Pro feature [8], and Canva AI has listed Arabic among 16 added languages since September 2025 [17]. The only Designer language line we found, from July 2024, names no language [21].
Sensitivity readings, all printed
- Equal weights: posters Canva 0.93, Designer 0.50; invitations Canva 0.86, Designer 0.58. The verdict holds.
- Without the heaviest poster rule: without Q1, Canva 70 and Designer 38 of the 80 points left; without Q4, Canva 80 and Designer 38.
- Without Q6, the commercial-use rule: Canva 75, Designer 48. Canva still leads by 27.
- Canva's own word "templates" taken literally: Canva's Q1 falls to 10 and its total to 80, still 32 ahead.
- Without the heaviest invitation rule: without V1, Canva 60 and Designer 38; without V3, Canva 70 and Designer 48.
- If Designer's invitation text proves editable and it gains a share link (V1 to 20, V3 to 10): Designer 68 on invitations, still behind Canva's 80.
- No single cell flips either verdict. Designer would need 43 more points on posters and 33 more on invitations.
Is Microsoft Designer free? Two Microsoft pages, two answers
Microsoft Designer is free to use on Microsoft's FAQ, with monthly credits and a subscription for heavier use, while Microsoft's Welcome page says you need a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family account; both were live on 4 November 2026, and we pick no winner.

The FAQ answers "Is Microsoft Designer free to use?" with "Yes, Designer is free to use." and "A subscription may be required for those who want to create more frequently." [18] The product page agrees, with "Create with Designer for free" on a Free card of "monthly credits", and says users who run out "can upgrade to Microsoft 365 Personal or Family to get more." [19] The Welcome page says: "To begin using Microsoft Designer, you'll need a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family account." [20] All three opened in a real browser at 11:33 UTC and again, unchanged, at 12:33 UTC. For work accounts the Welcome page adds: "Currently, it is not available to enterprise users." [20]
The Microsoft 365 plans on the en-us page, from Personal at "$9.99 /month", raise Designer credits; none is a Designer price, and none changes the licence line [19]. For the other side, our page on whether Canva is free covers Canva's free plan limits.
Commercial use: the line that decides it
Commercial use is worth 15 of the 42 poster points between them: Canva's AI terms allow AI output "for any lawful purpose", and Designer's FAQ limits Designer to "personal, non-commercial use".
Canva's AI Product Terms, "effective as of 26 June 2026", say "You may use your Output for any lawful purpose", and that you own your output, "except for any Output that modifies or incorporates Licensed Content". That is the one condition: edit a Canva library photo with AI, Canva's own example says, and "you won't own this Output" [7]. The Magic Design FAQ answers the commercial question the same way: "Yes, as long as you stick to the Permitted Uses when you're using our Content" [1].
Microsoft's sentence appears twice in the Designer FAQ: "Designer is licensed for personal, non-commercial use with your Microsoft account." [18] Its examples are a card for a friend, a holiday party invitation, and personal brands for "your book club, family reunion, recreational sports club, and other personal groups". The Welcome page is looser, "Whether you're creating business presentations or personal projects" [20], but the FAQ sentence is the one that names a licence, so it is scored. Designer's full terms are a PDF we did not download.
Adobe Express, a reference row, sits with Canva here: its Free column marks Commercial Use "Yes", and its FAQ says "In general, you may use outputs from generative AI features commercially.", except for features Adobe labels beta [25]. Of the three, only Designer's licence excludes business use.
Invitations: the second rubric
On the seven invitation rules Canva scores 80 and Microsoft Designer 48, a 32-point gap carried mostly by one prompt and by sending, where Canva shares by email and Designer downloads an image.
| Rule (points) | Canva | Microsoft Designer | Lead | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| V1 Invitation from one prompt (20) | 20 Magic Design lists "invitations (square)" | 10 Middle: "create invitations quickly from a prompt", and the result "can be edited further" in the Designer canvas, but the event details are not stated to stay editable text | Canva +10 | [1][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:30 and 11:33 UTC |
| V2 Free, no watermark (20) | 10 Middle: premium elements watermarked on Free | 10 Middle: monthly credits, a subscription "may be required" | Level | [5][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| V3 Send and track replies (20) | 10 Middle: "send your design via email or post it directly"; no named RSVP list, since on Canva Websites "Names can't be collected." | 0 "downloaded as an image, sent to your phone, and copied" | Canva +10 | [9][10][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| V4 Print-ready file (15) | 15 "Canva Print will take care of your invitation cards from start to finish.", 5 x 7 and 4 x 6 inches named | 8 Middle: an image download only | Canva +7 | [11][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| V5 Change one detail by asking (10) | 10 Magic Edit (Pro) | 10 Rewrite on a selected text box; generative erase | Level | [11][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| V6 Right to left (10) | 10 The right-to-left page mirror in Translate | 5 Middle: "more than 80 languages", none named | Canva +5 | [8][21] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| V7 Phone app (5) | 5 "iOS, Android, and Chromebook" | 5 "Apple App Store or Google Play Store" | Level | [12][18] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:31 and 11:33 UTC |
| Total | 80 | 48 | Canva +32 | Sum of the cells above |
The arithmetic. Canva 20 + 10 + 10 + 15 + 10 + 10 + 5 = 80. Designer 10 + 10 + 0 + 8 + 10 + 5 + 5 = 48. The gap of 32 is V1 plus 10, V3 plus 10, V4 plus 7 and V6 plus 5.
For a personal party, Designer's invitation feature does more than its score suggests. It takes "a description of an occasion" with "date, time, location, RSVP, style and theme" and returns one to five vertical designs that are "easy to use and share using mobile devices" [18]. The RSVP there is a line of text on the card. Canva's birthday-invitation page likewise tells you to "Include contact information so that guests can RSVP", and on Canva Websites "responses are always anonymous" [9][10]. Neither collects a named guest list.
Where Microsoft Designer is strong
Microsoft Designer takes full marks on one poster rule and two invitation rules, and four documented strengths matter more for personal designs than its total suggests.
- Rewrite on a selected text box: "select any text box that's already on your design or image and then select Rewrite", and "AI will generate an alternative version of the text you selected" [18].
- Generative erase: click an object or brush a mask, and "Erase object uses Designer's model to erase specified areas"; the Free card lists "erase unwanted distractions" and "restyle" among the edits monthly credits cover [18][19].
- A free tier on monthly credits, as the FAQ and the product page describe it, plus phone apps on both stores; the invitation result can also be "sent to your phone" [18][19].
- Provenance: content credentials on every AI image. No rule here counts it, and it matters when an image travels [18].
Three documented limits hold its total down: an image is the only download, nothing is sent to guests, and the licence is personal.
Microsoft Designer vs Canva vs Adobe Express: the third option
On the same rules Adobe Express scores 85 on posters and 85 on invitations, between the two on posters and ahead of both on invitations, because it alone documents RSVPs with tracking.
Adobe Express is a reference row and changes nothing between the two; our Canva vs Adobe Express page is that full head-to-head, and our Canva alternatives ranking covers more tools.
| Reference row | Rubric | Cells 1 to 7 | Total | Why it is not full, where it is not | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adobe Express | Posters (Q) | 20 · 15 · 10 · 10 · 10 · 15 · 5 | 85 | Q4 middle: free export with daily generations, no watermark statement; Q7 middle: Adobe's own "RTL language support is partial" | adobe.com/express and helpx.adobe.com, browser pane · 4 November 2026, 11:39 to 11:41 UTC [25][27][28] |
| Adobe Express | Invitations (V) | 20 · 10 · 20 · 15 · 10 · 5 · 5 | 85 | V2 and V6 middle, for the same two reasons | adobe.com/express and helpx.adobe.com, browser pane · 4 November 2026, 11:40 to 11:41 UTC [25][26][27] |
| NOXI | Posters (Q) | 20 · 8 · 10 · 10 · 10 · 0 · 10 | 68 | Q2 middle: PDF, PowerPoint and Word, no print options stated; Q4 middle: a free plan of five documents a month; Q6 low: our product file states nothing on ownership or commercial use | NOXI 2.0 product facts · 4 November 2026 [30] |
| NOXI | Invitations (V) | 20 · 10 · 10 · 15 · 10 · 10 · 0 | 75 | V2 middle: the same five-document plan; V3 middle: a view link anyone can open; V7 low: on a phone, NOXI opens in the browser | NOXI 2.0 product facts · 4 November 2026 [30] |
Adobe Express in practice. Its create-event help, "Last updated on Oct 19, 2026", says "Guests can RSVP through the published link, and you can track responses.", with "Send invite" by email and "a limit of 1000 guests per event", "available worldwide, except in Canada and Australia"; that page names no plan [26]. It documents crop marks and bleed on a CMYK PDF [28], and its price page served "AED0.00" for Free and "AED38.85/mo" for Premium to a UAE visitor [25]. Its right-to-left line, "partial" on a page updated 23 October 2026, could move at Adobe MAX, 10 to 12 November 2026 [27].
A second reference row: NOXI
NOXI is a document maker that makes posters and invitations from one request, scored on the same rules and kept outside the two-way comparison: 68 on posters and 75 on invitations. Its full marks on posters are Q1 (a poster from one request, text editable by hand), Q3 (A4 and A3, custom sizes in the Design panel), Q5 (select a part and say what should change) and Q7 (right-to-left pages with mirrored layouts); on invitations, V1, V4 (a PDF, with A5 and custom sizes), V5 and V6. Downloads carry no watermark, on the free plan too, and the free plan covers five documents a month, the quota level every capped plan gets on Q4 and V2. Our product file says nothing on who owns the output or on commercial use, so Q6 takes the low mark and this page claims neither. In the sister rankings NOXI is fifth of eleven on posters and third of twelve on invitations.
Canva and Microsoft Designer prices, with currencies and times
Canva Pro was served as 48 UAE dirhams a month on Canva's default page and US$ 18 a month on its US page, minutes apart on 4 November 2026; Designer is free with monthly credits, and Microsoft 365 Personal at $9.99 a month raises them.

| Plan | Canva, default page, UAE visitor | Canva, ?countryCode=us | Microsoft Designer, en-us page | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | "0 UAE dirhams" | "US$ 0" | "Create with Designer for free", "with monthly credits" | [13][14][19] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:38 to 11:42 UTC |
| Yearly, one person | Pro "440 UAE dirhams /year for one person" | Pro "US$ 144" a year | Microsoft 365 Personal "$99.99 /year" | [13][14][19] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:33 to 11:39 UTC |
| Monthly, one person | Pro "48 UAE dirhams /month" | Pro "US$ 18" a month | Microsoft 365 Personal "$9.99 /month" | [13][14][19] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:39 to 11:42 UTC |
| Above that | Business "700 UAE dirhams /year per person" or "70 UAE dirhams /month per person" | Business "US$ 250" a year or "US$ 25" a month per person | Family "$12.99 /month", Premium "$19.99 /month" | [13][14][19] · 4 Nov 2026, 11:33 to 11:39 UTC |
Canva's pricing FAQ adds that "Canva Teams is no longer available for new sign-ups or upgrades", so a team now starts on Business [13]. Within each currency the yearly plan is cheaper: twelve months at US$ 18 are US$ 216 against US$ 144, a saving of US$ 72 or 33.3%; twelve months at 48 dirhams are 576 against 440, a saving of 136 dirhams or 23.6%. Canva's own "Save from 16%" badge fits Business: US$ 300 against US$ 250, or 840 against 700 dirhams. The Pro percentages differ because these are separate price lists, which is why we never convert one into the other. Open the page from your own country before you budget.
What these rules don't measure
Fourteen rules leave out most of what designers argue about, and several of those gaps favour one tool in ways no cell shows.
- Design and image quality. A full mark says a feature is documented, never that it looks good; Canva's claims for Craft and Brush are Canva's. Image tools on their own are scored in our best AI image generator ranking.
- Library size, photo and video editing. Canva's template counts and video editor, and Designer's background blur, restyle and upscaling, sit outside these rules.
- Brand kits and team work. Canva's Brand Kit, the AI brand kits Designer's FAQ describes for personal groups, and Canva Business, which replaces Teams for new sign-ups. None of it is scored.
- Fit with your other apps. Designer reaches Word and PowerPoint through Copilot on paid Microsoft 365 plans; Canva has its own Apps Marketplace.
- Provenance. Designer's content credentials are a real advantage that no rule counts.
- The feel of the editor, speed and reliability on your own design. This is documented capability, not a hands-on test.
What would change this verdict
Three things would move the numbers, each checkable on a named page, and none alone would put Designer ahead.
- 1. Microsoft changes Designer's licence line. If the Designer FAQ on support.microsoft.com stops saying "licensed for personal, non-commercial use", Q6 goes from 0 to 8 or 15 and Designer to 56 or 63 on posters, still behind Canva's 90. We re-check on 1 December 2026.
- 2. Canva Brush reaches the Free plan. No cell moves, since Canva's Q5 and V5 are already full, but one-element AI edits would stop being Designer's free advantage. Page: canva.com/newsroom/news/canva-brush/. We re-check on 1 December 2026.
- 3. Microsoft retires the standalone Designer app or folds it into Copilot. No Microsoft page says so: designer.microsoft.com opened at 11:42 UTC with new tiles. Microsoft Ignite runs from 17 to 20 November 2026 [29]. We re-check designer.microsoft.com and the Welcome page on 21 November 2026.
Worked example: one gym, two tools
For a fictional gym owner who already pays for Microsoft 365, the answer splits cleanly: Designer for his niece's birthday card, Canva or Adobe Express for anything the gym puts on a wall.
Step one, the licence. Gym posters promote a business. Designer's FAQ licenses it "for personal, non-commercial use", and Family raises his credits "up to 4X" without the FAQ naming any plan that lifts the licence [18][19]. The posters and the members' invitations leave Designer; the niece's card stays, on his Family credits, with Rewrite for one text box.
Step two, Canva Free or Pro. Canva Free exports PDF, JPG and PNG and allows AI output "for any lawful purpose" [13][7]. Premium elements carry watermarks, Magic Design uses are limited, and Magic Edit, Translate and CMYK print export are Pro [5][1][13]. If his print shop takes an ordinary PDF and he sticks to free elements, Free covers the posters.
| Option | Calculation | One year |
|---|---|---|
| Canva Pro, US page, monthly | 12 times US$ 18 | US$ 216 |
| Canva Pro, US page, yearly | as served | US$ 144 |
| Per design, US yearly price | US$ 144 divided by the 16 gym designs (12 posters, 4 invitations) | US$ 9.00 |
| Canva Pro, dirham page, yearly | as served (12 times 48 = 576 if paid monthly) | 440 dirhams |
| Per design, dirham yearly price | 440 divided by the 16 gym designs | 27.5 dirhams |
| Designer, the niece's card | free monthly credits | 0 |
The arithmetic, checked twice. 144 divided by 16 is 9.00, and 440 divided by 16 is 27.5; the yearly savings are worked out in the price section. His own country's page may show a third list; we convert nothing.
Decision. Canva Free for the monthly posters. Adobe Express for the members' invitations if he wants replies tracked: its event page names no plan, so he checks his own account, and Italy sits inside its "worldwide, except in Canada and Australia" line [26]. Designer for the birthday card. Canva Pro only if the printer asks for CMYK or he wants Magic Edit. Review on 1 December 2026.
Build it in NOXI: a carousel with your logo, colour and fonts
To make a square social post or a carousel in NOXI 2.0, choose the Social post format on Home, describe it in one request, set your accent colour, logo and fonts in the Design panel, and export a PDF.
Social post is one of the 14 formats in NOXI 2.0: a square post, or a square carousel of several cards. Free to start: the free plan covers five documents a month, and every change after that, by chat or by hand, is free.
Step 1 · Open NOXI and sign in
Go to noxi.ai and sign in, or create a free account. No credit card is needed to start, and new accounts get a welcome gift to use in their first 14 days.
Step 2 · Choose Social post
On Home, pick the Social post tile under the request box. The tile shows the square sheet you are about to get.
Step 3 · Describe the carousel in one request
For example: "A square carousel of five cards announcing our winter class timetable, one class per card, with times and the trainer's name." Attach your notes or the timetable if you have them.
Step 4 · Press Create and watch it build
NOXI sketches every card first, picks a style from its design library of more than ninety styles, writes the cards and checks the rendered pages for cut-off text and overlaps.
Step 5 · Put your brand on it in Design
Open Design to set your accent colour, add your logo where the document carries its mark, and pick your fonts. To change one card, select it and say what should change, or edit it directly.
Step 6 · Export or present
Export a PDF, PowerPoint or Word file, each compared with the pages before the download appears, or present full screen. Downloads carry no watermark, on the free plan too.
Canva vs Microsoft Designer: FAQ
- Canva vs Microsoft Designer: which should I use?
- Use Canva for anything a business will publish or print, and Microsoft Designer for personal designs you want free. On our seven poster rules, checked 4 November 2026, Canva scores 90 and Designer 48; on seven invitation rules, 80 against 48. Designer's FAQ says it is licensed for personal, non-commercial use.
- Canva or Microsoft Designer for a small business?
- Canva. Microsoft's own Designer FAQ says Designer is "licensed for personal, non-commercial use with your Microsoft account", and its Welcome page says it is not available to enterprise users. Canva's AI Product Terms, effective 26 June 2026, say you may use AI output for any lawful purpose. Checked 4 November 2026.
- Canva Pro vs Microsoft Designer: is Pro worth it?
- Only if you need what Pro adds: Magic Edit, Translate with the right-to-left mirror, Canva Brush and print-ready CMYK export. Canva Free already allows commercial use of AI output. On 4 November 2026 Pro was served as US$ 18 a month on Canva's US page and 48 UAE dirhams on its default page.
- MS Designer vs Canva for posters: which one?
- Canva, by 90 to 48 on our seven poster rules. Canva documents PDF Print with bleed and crop marks, named poster sizes and Canva Print. Designer documents image downloads, upscaling to 4K and resizing, but no PDF, no named poster sizes and no commercial use. Both document an AI edit of one selected part.
- Is Microsoft Designer free?
- Microsoft's Designer FAQ says "Yes, Designer is free to use", with monthly credits, and adds that a subscription may be required to create more often. Its Welcome page says you need a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family account. Both pages were live on 4 November 2026; Microsoft 365 Personal was $9.99 a month.
- Can I use Microsoft Designer commercially?
- Not under the line Microsoft prints. The Designer FAQ, read on 4 November 2026, says "Designer is licensed for personal, non-commercial use with your Microsoft account", and it names no plan that lifts that. For business posters or flyers, Canva's AI terms and Adobe Express's free plan both allow commercial use of AI output.
- What is Canva Brush?
- Canva Brush is a vision-language model for design that Canva launched on 29 October 2026. It powers supported design edits in Canva AI for Canva Pro subscribers, with expanded availability promised later. On 4 November 2026 it was still Pro only. Canva says everything Brush creates stays fully editable.
- What is Canva Craft?
- Canva Craft is Canva's first image generation model, launched on 22 October 2026 and available to all Canva users globally through Dream Lab. Canva says it accepts prompts in any language, renders text in 55 languages and offers more than 30 aspect ratios. Performance claims are Canva's own.
- Is Microsoft Designer part of Copilot?
- Designer is its own app at designer.microsoft.com, live on 4 November 2026 with new Invitations, Banners and Posters tiles, plus phone apps. Microsoft's product page says paid Microsoft 365 plans also give credits to use Designer through Copilot in Word and PowerPoint. No Microsoft page we read says Designer was retired.
- Does Canva work in Arabic?
- Yes, with limits. Canva AI added Arabic among 16 languages in September 2025, and Translate can mirror a page for right-to-left languages, a Pro feature. Magic Design itself "currently works in English", Canva's FAQ says. Microsoft Designer names no languages, only "more than 80 languages on the web". Checked 4 November 2026.
Sources and methodology
Every price, plan, feature and licence sentence comes from Canva's, Microsoft's or Adobe's own pages, read signed out on 4 November 2026 between 11:29 and 12:01 UTC, in real browsers only; readings the same morning from 10:30 UTC agree with every cell. We opened the deciding pages again in a real browser from 12:33 to 12:36 UTC, and every quoted line and price was unchanged. Every calculation was recomputed twice.
